Omelette de Chilorio

Food was amazing including the ambience. If you're staying in Ensenada in the city, go to this restaurant for breakfast.

I came in with high expectations based on all the great reviews, but the experience ended up being pretty underwhelming. The service was slow, and the food was just okay.. nothing particularly memorable. We ordered the avena, tostada de camarón, mole with pork belly, and machaca sinaloense. The tostada was our favorite dish, and the orange juice was good as well, but overall nothing really stood out. It was just a mediocre experience.

10/10 the lamb chilaquiles were DELICIOUS!!! Best I've ever had I also got the mushroom and egg my first time trying something like that and I honestly wasn't disappointed!! Beautiful dining area great for family and friends! The service was fast and efficient! Amazing prices!!

The Ambiance, Food and Service were all fantastic. I went for breakfast. I hugely recommend. I can't wait to try dinner next time I'm in town!

We visit here for brunch every time we are in Ensenada. As a creature of habit I always get the omelet hongos which is terrific and my partner tends to try new things. He's loved the barbacoa and the cochinita pibil but last week he didn't love Plato Marcelo - felt the cheese was too congealed. Their house cheese with pan is delicious, the sauces on my omelette are also as good, I believe it's beet, pumpkin and a herb sauce. They have a great garden to sit (good weather is a must) there's some cover but it wouldn't suffice in rain. And a new addition of a friendly kitty (always my favorite!)

"dry" machaca. Not worth ordering.

Really loved the idea of this place. Kind of a farm to table situation. Unfortunately, the food wasn't nearly as good as the concept. Unripe Orange Juice. I love that it was fresh squeezed, but it would have been better as a ceviche or carnitas marinade. The dry style machaca was overly salty. I should have known better than to order meat "floss". The flavors were unbalanced and not good. Black beans were dry with mediocre flavor. They reminded me of the first couple of times I made refried beans. The chilaquiles were also a dud. And everything we ate sat in our stomachs like a rock. Heavy and bloated. On a positive note, our breakfast was inexpensive. But ironically pretentious menu. And nothing we tried tasted good.

Good breakfast they have a cat that watches you eat from the tree. I would recommend to come early

This is some of the best breakfast I've had in Ensenada. The service was great and the food was amazing. Our waiter was very friendly and asked if we needed an English menu. It appears to be a local hot a lot for breakfast. The best part was being greeted by the restaurant cat named Bola.

Sangria
Christine T.

Loved their sangria. Wasn't overly sweet. I got the 2 eggs plate with seasonal vegetables and beans. The seasonal vegetables were ok - it was nopales. The eggs however were cooked to perfection. I got over easy. Service did take a while but didn't mind too much because of their outdoor cat. Very cute cat. Very friendly.

Went for breakfast looking for an authentic, local experience, and was not disappointed! I ordered the chilaquiles red with carnitas and it was so good! Would definitely recommend and come back next time I'm in Ensenada.

Michelin rated for a reason. Food was great. Hardest part will be deciding what to eat. Good kid options. Service was great.

The margaritas were SO good and the pescado (fish) tacos I got were amazing. They also put double fish in per taco compared to most other places so they were pretty filling. My wife also said her meal was one of the best lunches she's had in a while - I think it was the combinacion plate. People working there are friendly so the service was great as well. Additionally, when we went it was a Sunday and there was a woman singing outdoor on the patio and she was great. Really good voice and people (locals) kept going up to her / saying hi which I thought was neat because it made Ensenada feel like a small town. Also worth noting, unlike the shops around us that charged us at unfavorable rates, our server (proactively) charged us in MXN Pesos which saved us a few bucks and was super appreciated. When we return to Ensenada, it's safe to say we will be back.

I also ordered a migas plate. Fried tortilla stripe mixed with scrambled eggs and tomato n onion served with rice and homemade potatoes. Everything was delicious and the service was outstanding! Will add this to our return places.

There are a few tables inside, and would make a great place to dine with friends or do some work. To be honest, the food was just mediocre--but that might be because we had incredible food the day before at another spot. The restaurant itself is beautiful and fairly large, and the portions were pretty generous. One thing that stood out was that Ensenada seems to have a lot of street vendors. While we were eating, one actually walked right into the restaurant and came up to our table trying to sell us flowers. I guess it could be considered romantic, but he had already approached us outside earlier as well. The staff also felt a bit standoffish. Service was slow, and no one really came back to check if we needed anything. Our nachos ended up being about $25, though they did accept USD. It's in one of the nicer areas, but overall I've definitely had better experiences.
