Got there & waited 45 minutes to get seated then another 15 to get our drink order and another 10 minutes to get our food order. After waiting over 20 minutes for our food I noticed that a couple who got seated 30 minutes after we did was already eating & we still didn't have our food! Our waitress was really nice. We spoke to the manager that was in charge she let us know that because of the new years they were understaffed and then we asked who the 2 men in the restaurant were since it looked like they worked there but the whole time they were either in their phones or jus talking to each other but never helping the restaurant staff or the clients and she said it was the general manager and some other big boss from maglen and we told her that the 2 guys there were just a waste of space and were there just taking up a paycheck because they weren't helpful at all! We made sure we tipped the waitress since she did a good job. But the service here is horrible! read more

BRING PESOS!!!! Try to use pesos as much as you can because there was so much confusion with using American dollars and the surcharge for using credit cards is 8% ..... Also the wait time for your food is looking like 30 ish minutes or more. The staff was nice but the three times we went it's as if they are not use to the amount of people that come in. We were a party of 10 and the food was coming out in 10 minutes intervals mind you not all 10 people ordered food. A friend ordered coffee de la olla and took 15 minutes. But i will say their portions are decent and the food was pretty good. But again keep all of what i said about using their currency instead of your countries own. read more

My friends were staying at the Maglen while I stayed next door at La Cima. We were too early for check in so we decided to grab a bite to eat at the restaurant next to the check in desk. I ordered their green chilaquiles and they were my favorite chilaquiles of the weekend. The sauce was flavorful and the portion was huge. I also ordered a guava mimosa which was so good! I drove by this place in the evening coming back from winetasting and thought it would be a good place to have breakfast the next morning. I'm glad I did. The staff is super sweet and the place is really cute. The food was excellent. I had the green and pesto Chilaquiles. They were both very good. The eggs are organic with a nice orange yolk. The steak was also very good as well as the beans which are obviously made with the traditional way of using lard. The coffee was nice and strong, and the orange juice was lacking in flavor as well as the fruit. I look forward to coming back to this place again. read more

We were sat down within a couple minutes but then sat for 20 minutes without someone checking on us no drinks no water NOTHING, I had to go ask twice to get somebody finally somebody help us took another 20 to 30 minutes to get our food asked for drinks never got finally we gave up cancel drinks and got our check. We were staying at the hotel and we didn't want to drive offsite so this was very convenient. It was outdoor so it was a little cold but they put a heating lamp near us. Which made it comfortable. I got the Arrachera steak and eggs and it was delicious. The steak was perfectly seasoned and grilled. It tasted delicious with the mesquite smoke. I would recommend this. The service was pretty good, they don't speak much English though, so hopefully you have a Spanish speaking friend or use Google translate. read more

The negative reviews are accurate regarding service. Service is bad. Not terrible; our first waiter was friendly so I don't want to take that away from him. The food was good, not great unique or memorable, but good. Value for price was decent. It took a while for the hostess to show up from wherever she was, but eventually they sat us quickly as it wasn't packed. It took them long to take our drink order and it was 30 min before my coffee finally came out. I had to ask for my wife's drink a little while later because they forgot. When we asked about it they said they ran out of orange juice and couldn't make it (but apparently forgot to tell us). About an hour in, we noticed another table of two that had arrived later, already had their food. We ended up asking another waitress about our food and she begrudgingly said she would check on it. We also ordered cafe de olla and fresh squeezed orange juice and we never received it. Food was just ok and does the job. After going up to a waiter and letting them know we were leaving because we were tired of waiting for our food-we finally got our food after an 1 hour and 45 mins, my food was cold, my plate was dirty with smeared egg yolk underneath my chilaquiles. We asked for 5 waters and 1 coffee, only 3 waters showed up, asked 3 times for the extra 2 waters and coffee, i ended up canceling my coffee and walked to the bar to ask for a Coke since i had asked 15 mins earlier. Spoke to the manager and she said they were short staffed, it wasn't busy, can't imagine if they were busy how crazy it would be. If you're short staffed then let your customers know beforehand that it'll be that much of a wait, let them decide if they are willing to wait or not. This was a place of choice and we would typically come out of our way to have breakfast and in many occasions we stayed the night at the property however now that they've relocated I don't think the layout is ideal for the servers to help attend the customers in a quickly manner or be alert in the event they need something. The multiple levels of floor and many trees cover the visibility and easy access which makes it hard for them. If you're starving don't come here, it's best to come with time and be very patient. This is one of the Valle's gems, without a doubt. Located along the main highway as you enter the valley, and unpretentiously nestled in the hillside with amazing views. Best part - everything on the menu is bomb! There is usually a wait, but for the adventurous Covid-era traveler there is no such thing. The only wait these days is the few minutes between ordering and having your cup filled with delicious café de olla. I call this place breakfast bliss for the good food and great ambiente. The restaurant was not too busy and we were sat down right away, we loved the atmosphere and the server was extremely nice and accommodating. We sat down and ordered the Jugo Verde and Cafe de Olla, both tasted amazing and I would recommend trying. Then we ordered chilaquiles, hot cakes with fruit, and an egg on the side. However, we waited almost an hour and a half for our food before decided to depart. Parties who sat down an hour after us were receiving their meals and almost done while we still waited for any of our food to arrive. We asked if their was any update on our orders and were assured they would be done shortly twice. How it came to be that everyone else in the restaurant was being served but my husband and I am not sure but something to consider if you decide to eat here. This is a lovely and cute restaurant inside Maglen Resort. They have everything eggs. We came for a wedding during the weekend and what a beautiful place and people. The Restaurant is cozy with wood tables and an elegant rustic decor. You must ask for the café de olla which is the local coffee. It has coffee with cinnamon, and few other things inside that makes this coffee one of the best. The breakfast is so fresh and delicious. Here they give you fresh homemade chips and salsa (spicy) of course when seating at the table. With our breakfast, we also order fresh tortillas ummmmm nice and hot. The service is very good. Our server was Ana. She was very attentive and pleasant. You will enjoy their authentic fresh Mexican breakfast. Don't forget the squeeze fresh orange juice. See pics below. It was a Monday morning and we were searching far and wide for a restaurant to eat brunch. Everything near our hotel was closed, which seems like a common thing for restaurants to do on Mondays in Valle de Guadalupe. We got lucky and was recommended this spot by a local. We were ready to check out of the hotel and luckily this was on the way back towards home AND OPEN. It's a cute little venue that offers inside and patio seating. Started the meal with cafe de olla (perfect), crispy tortilla chips and bomb ass salsa (perfect), and then came the meal. I had the Combo Republic which included a well seasoned and cooked to medium ribeye steak; the best chilaquiles I've ever had which were tasty and crunchy to the bite; a pair of huevos sunny side up with the yolks runny (perfect). Finished the meal with a plate of the chocolate pancakes that my group shared. The cakes were presented very well. They were tasty, chocolatey, fluffy, and moist. Aaaand​d the eggs were from a local coop (as in, someone drove to the farm where the coop was THAT morning). La Combinación Republic- Eggs over easy, green chilaquiles, and machaca. All were amazing​! I would recommend​ this if you are looking to sample a bit more of what they offer here. Tortillas- You can choose either flour or corn and they make you tortillas to order. Thee worst service I have ever gotten in Valle De Guadalupe. We got to sit down very quickly and then the rest was history! Not only did it take 1 hour to get our food after we reminded the waiter that we were waiting for our food, but not once did he check in on us in between that time. Once we finally got our food, IT WAS DEAD COLD! I told the waiter it was cold and his response was insane. He asked if I still wanted it!!! Seriously, who would want cold food! Then he asked if I wanted another plate and I said "no thanks" because I don't care to wait another hour for my food. After all that the manager came over and said she was sorry and took my plate off the bill.
