Came with a party of 7 and 3 is them were kids. They loved the playground. There is plenty of room for large parties. Food is delicious and service was kind. I arrived HANGRY and left with with a big SMILE on my face. Would highly recommend when visiting Ensenada.

Amazing Food, excellent service and Reasonable prices. the Tri-fecta! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone

Queso with chorizo

Doesn't look like much from the front. We almost didn't stop. So glad that we did! The Tortillas are freshly made with every order. They are warm and tasty. I feel silly getting so excited about beans. They were incredibly good. I wish I could recreate them. The marrow on Tortillas with a little salt and lime are so good. The queso was creamy and flavorful. I would have skipped the chorizo, I liked the cheese all by itself. The steak was perfectly cooked, great flavor. My daughter and I agree that is one of the best meals we've ever had.

Fresh salsa made to order

Had one of the best Prime Ribs I've had in my life at this place. The meat was tasty and cooked to perfection (3/4s slightly pink inside) and the veggies were cooked just as perfectly. The fresh salsa made right by your table was great. The rest of my party enjoyed flank stake and octopus and we also tried the Tetano.

Outdoor dining, bar & kitchen.

Steaks were unevenly & improperly cooked - if we even got the different doneness each of us ordered. Neither of us or the waiter was certain. They were also totally unseasoned. The waiter forgot the beans we ordered. Queso fundido & mashed potatoes were delish! Only a block and a half from the arroyo - I was swatting mosquitoes the whole time. Not recommended.

We had delicious food and great service here! It's a fun vibe with live music and the back outside area was nice and colorful. We had the fajitas tacos and it was so delicious and A LOT of food, we had to take it home. They also made fresh salsa right in front of you that was so delicious. Guacamole was good but was very small and tasted not as fresh. But everything else was wonderful

Chicken mole

It's like home. My husband had the T-bone steak. I had the. Chicken in Mole. Oh my goodness- never had such awesome tasting mole anywhere else. This place is a hidden gem. Try not to forgo this restaurant- it is amazing. The service is also wonderful. The temperature in August was cool and dry. Sitting in the courtyard is a must. Ambiance is very homey.

Excellent! Coals warming at table

Unbelievably Fantastic Food!! The ambience is fun and inviting, the staff are great, the drinks are great, AND the food is fantastic! Table-side fresh made SALSA that is likely the best in the World! We shared the "Parilladas Familiares"!! Look at pictures to believe

Skirt steak...2 can eat this for sure! Huuuuuge!
Jason B.

3.5 stars... Table side salsa made to your liking as you are seated, ours turned out a bit sweet, but you can ask them to alter if you need more heat! Ordered the skirt steak...a huge mound of meat on top of a huge mound of vegetables...I couldn't even finish half of it! This would have been rated higher but it had a huge piece of tendon that ran through half the meat, and it was slightly over cooked. Good Mexican beer selection and the staff was friendly..also, it is across the street from the holiday inn express, so bonus! Ambiance is party casita, staff was friendly, and prices were a bit above expected for season and location.

Great food and service. I would assume waiters would know English more since it's a tourist spot but no worries, my high school level Spanish can work overtime . Very cute restaurant, love the outdoor sittings and outdoor grill they have

Salsa at the table

The service was slow and we were the first people there. They also gave us a "new" menu with higher prices then what's outside on the sign. Charged us 1200 pesos( 16 -1 exchange) for the meat fajitas. Outside menu said 950. When I questioned it they said oh that's our old prices. Food overall was just ok, definitely not worth the price! We got the meat and chicken plate(feeds 3-4) comes with beans, added a side of guacamole, one margarita, one soda and two beers for $98. Definitely not coming back!

Asada steak!

I am very close to saying this has been one of the best food experiences of my life. I can't wait to come back to Ensenada just to run to this restaurant. They prepare the salsa right in front of you, and it's very tasty. My husband and I ordered the corn chowder soup and ended up ordering a third bowl because the flavor was incredible. For our main entrees, we had the pork crocante and the asada steak. Both were exquisito and delicious. Don't miss this gem in Ensenada. They will not disappoint you.

The steak dinner for 3-4, I can't remember the name but we had leftovers from the three of us!

The food was AMAZING!!! The salsa made at your table was a perfect touch! We loved every bite!

The food was ok. To expensive for what it is. The cuts of meat are decent but not worth the cost. I would not return.

I came here during lunch hour on a Monday and it seemed moderately busy. Quite the cozy place, very comfortable and it was decorated with Christmas decor. I was seated quickly, and my order was taken efficiently. Chips and salsa quickly came out along with the condiments I would later use on my meal. Overall, I received excellent table service. The focus of this restaurant is on Birria, both beef and lamb. There isn't a variety of other Mexican dishes here such as enchiladas, burritos or seafood. There is instead a plethora of ways to eat the Birria including tacos, quesa-birria, and stew bowls only in beef or lamb. No chicken or vegetarian options available. I ordered the lamb Birria, which came in a standard sized bowl. The portions were modest, and the ratio from broth to chunks of meat was reasonable. While this place was highly rated, I found my meal to be average in both size and taste. When it comes to this delicious dish, I am a bit of a connoisseur, and I've had birria in different parts of Mexico, including Mexicali, Guadalajara, Ensenada and outside of Mexico- restaurants throughout Los Angeles and all the way up to northern California. This was not the best tasting birria I have experience up-to-date but it also was not disappointing. The flavors were standard and fair yet not memorable. I would recommend this establishment. Tip: my usual order at these places is the stew in a bowl with a side of corn tortillas. For those with larger appetites, I would suggest ordering the same thing, but consider adding one-to-two quesa-Birrias to reach satisfaction. I would return here but also leave my options open to try the competition.

It's not hard to find, but unlike so any other options, it's not loud or flashy. We weren't ushered in by some guy on the street promising "the best" of anything. It's small, but clean.. you order at the counter.. my wife and I were the only gringos in there, and we don't speak Spanish. We were quickly presented with a sample plate of all the meats available for their tacos. The wife and I each got a Birria taco and I also got a chicken taco with some of the best Mole sauce I've ever had. They had a table set up in back with all the fixings and salsas you could ask for and the tacos came with beans and rice. We grabbed a bottle of water from the cooler, and the whole meal came to $13 with a tip!!! I mean, that's an unbelievable value for your money. The tacos were incredible. The beans and rice were delicious and the corn tortillas were homemade and some of the best we've ever had. The wife and I often use Yelp! to find places exactly like this, and once again, it did not disappoint. If you're in Ensenada do yourself a favor and skip all the hype spots and go find this place for some amazing food at incredible prices!!

Great portions packed with flavor. I went back for oysters, which they shuck right in front of you. There were so many chile bottles to choose from. Thus we made a point to stop by for food during our second cruise stop in Ensenada, 4 days later. We discovered the large crowds were not in line waiting, but were instead enjoying their ceviche and other cold seafood while standing up. It made for a festive atmosphere, definitely ramping up the enjoyment of really great tasting seafood. The food stall is located facing the main road of Ensenada (walking distance from the cruise port) and is separated into two parts: the front serving seafood tostadas and the back serving cocktails and aquachiles. Each had different lines, with a common guy accepting payment after delivery. They have been doing this for a while (1981?) and things are efficient. I wanted one thing, which was the mixed cocktail with all the seafood available (campechano, a word I've come to love since moving to the LA area). They have 4 sizes from chico ($105) to jumbo ($360). The seafood mix is diced together ahead of time to save on time, and are mostly diced pretty fine. The mix is prepared fresh though, and was ready in about a minute. It was excellent, refreshing and just the right amount for me. I had wanted to try the seafood cocktail again from La Guerrerense (another nearby famous seafood stand), so that was our first stop during our second visit to Ensenada in 5 days. We then visited other sites in the area, saving El Guero for the end before we headed back to the ship. As expected the cocktail from Guerrerense was very good, but this version from El Guero was even better....better selection of seafood, and more finely mixed to give a better representation of the different textures of the freshness. That would make it the best seafood cocktail I've ever enjoyed.
