We stopped here during our cruise day in Ensenada after locals recommended it, and it did not disappoint. The seafood was super fresh and flavorful, portions were generous, and the prices were much better than what you'd expect in a tourist area. The staff was friendly and made us feel welcome even though we were just visiting for the day. Definitely worth checking out if you want authentic local seafood instead of the usual tourist spots.

    Welcome

If you get a chance to come eat here... you need to! The service Eden provided was absolutely steller. We started with Marlin Totito appetizers that I am a fan of. I was craving octopus so my friend and I ordered Pulpo Mahi Mahi. It came with fresh corn tortillas, I think the best tortillas I've ever had. My husband ordered a shrimp and Crab salad that was huge. Our friend ordered the fish soup that had black sea bass. Everyone allowed me to taste their food and it was all delicious. I am hoping to come back here before leaving Ensenada. Thank you for great service Eden

When we first arrived, I wasn't sure what to expect. I looked online for any food recommendations but there wasn't really much information so we sort of had to choose and hope for the best. And it waa probably the best decision! The food did take a while to come out but we were a party of 6 so I assume that's why. There were several waiters attending us so that was great. Anytime we needed something, they were fast to act. I definitely recommend the pulpo aguachile. Its cooked octopus with a chile and lime sauce topped with red onions and serrano peppers. It was more like an appetizer because all of my family was trying it! It's definitely a big portion too! The shrimp waa actually our appetizer to begin with. Those shrimps were ENORMOUS! It seems to have been cooked with butter. They were so flavorful. I had 3 and was getting full before my actual meal came! Another recommended dish! Everything else was still delicious yet something I have tried before.

It was a good seafood spot recommended by our taxi driver. You go upstairs to the restaurant. Upon arrival, my mom requested window seating. They weren't able to accommodate us and got some other couple to a window seat instead so there were some miscommunication. We ordered the shrimp ceviche tostada, 2 fish tacos and a small bowl of caldo 7 mares along with a margarita and pina colada. Food took a bit of time to come out but it was amazingly fresh and delicious! Shrimp ceviche had a tasty flavor and the breaded fish tacos were hot. The caldo 7 mares was okay. The overall cost of our lunch was all under $20 which is pretty surprising because it would have cost at least double or triple back home. Highly check this place out and they do have free wifi for their patrons ;)

I had four places in mind. Turned the corner, and POW, there it was... Mahi Mahi. I said, there we go! Front row parking, quick seating, nice breeze outside, and a great waiter. I ordered a dozen oysters naturales, a beer, and a carbonated lemonade for my compadre. Then came the chips and salsa. Green salsa was aiight. Red salsa was pretty good! A little sweet for my taste, but good. I also ordered a tostada de ceviche, coctel de campechana, steamed almejas, and a fish plate for my compa. Beer was COLD! Chips were good. Service was excellent. Overall, It was a great experience. My tostada was very tasty and FRESH. My cocktail, wow! Straight from the ocean.. I was a happy camper. Will do again!

Came here tonight because their photos on Yelp looked so good! They're grilled fish looked amazing so we had to try it. We ordered the tuna carpaccio for an appetizer. It was excellent-with flavors of soy and cilantro standing out. The tuna was so tender and marinated perfectly. The plate was large and the order generous but we finished it. I love the carpaccio so much here I think, sometime, I will just order one for my entree! The menu had the regular Ensenada entrees of ceviche on a tostada, shrimp and mixed cocktails as well as whole or filet of fish fried. And then we saw they had plain grilled fish-hubs ordered that and I got the grilled fish with garlic and olive oil. As it goes often with us, my husband liked the garlic & olive oil better and I liked the plain, so we switched-though there was so much garlic on the one piece-more than enough for two, I got a scoop for mine as well. The plain grilled was a bit dry so the garlic and olive oil helped. We enjoyed the food. The fish was so large we were able to take home leftovers. We would definitely come back.

Mahi mahi is amazing! Best service in town. The food is fresh and tasty. Highly recommend stoping by for some amazing seafood and some cold brews.

    Golondrinas de mar

3rd time having lunch here. We enjoy the good food service and ambiance. Extensive seafood menu with lots of delicious options all reasonably priced. This time we tried for first time the Golondrinas de mar listed as an appetizer to be shared but absolutely delicious and would order as main entree next time. Recommended by the waiter as a seasonal item and pleasantly surprised with how good they are and how much we enjoyed them. Also had the fish taco and the shrimp cheese green raja taco both really good. Highly recommend Mahi Mahi when in Ensenada craving good seafood.

Some of the best fish and seafood I've ever had. I had the pea ado al mojo de ajo (Garlic fish) which comes with some rice, and zucchini. It was smothered in garlic which I appreciated lol. I also shared a tuna tartar which was so fresh! Service was great, food came in an timely manner, and there was live music to entertain us as well. Can't wait to come back next time!

The name gives it away. It's a seafood place. While in Baja, I went on a lobster binge. That being said, this place doesn't compare to Puerto Nuevo. Don't get me wrong, they know their seafood. My wife's camarones rojos was excellente, but my lobster was so so. It was prepared the traditional way with drawn butter but was overcooked and dry. In fairness to them, we came around closing so maybe the chef was thinking about partying rather than cooking... The clam chowder, on the other hand was spot on. I'd bring that home by the gallon if I could. The drinks were really reasonable with my michelada costing around US$2.00 and the shot of DJ 1970 was US$4.50. My wife's DJ '70 strawberry margarita was around US$5.00. The location was easy to find and super close to the clubs. The guard in the parking lot was cool and let us leave our car there after dinner so we didn't have to find another spot. There were only local's dining when we were there and the waiter's English was fair at best. The menu is in Spanish, but I think just about anyone could figure it out. The name implies fish, but there's nothing fishy here, just good eats, drinks and a prime location.

This was a recommend from our Air bnb host. Right smack in the crowded strip. We arrive and we're seated outside vs inside which we loved. Given chips and salsa to start, Was ok. We ordered the fish of the day which I had never had, the Sea Bass. It was served cooked in garlic and butter with a side of yellow saffron rice and a medley off well cooked veggies. My dish was very tasty and the sea bass was outstanding. Our second dish was the lobster termidor, which was served over yellow saffron rice with a tomato garnish. Both dishes were made very well and extremely tasty!!. Only reason this place gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the wait times. I would go back and give them another chance because the food is worth it.

Looking to grab some lobster, happened upon this spot. We had some margaritas and micheladas on deck...nice little breeze. Got the tuna carpaccio as an entree, honestly best thing we had. Lobster took forever to come out. Wasn't the greatest...small amount and dried out seems like the best description. Service was slow. The fish tacos were okay too.

    Scallop carpaccio is really tasty

Today, the 21st of November was our lucky day as we were craving the freshest ceviche Ensenada has to offer and experiencce the five star rating Muelle 3 was known for. Our party of 4 chose to sit outside to eat lunch on this cool, cloudy Friday afternoon and be exposed to the sights and sounds of this busy commercial and fishing port. Within minutes of getting settled, our free appetizer - Tortilla Espanola and a plate full of lemon & lime slices with an oyster shell-full of sea salt and chili powder occupied the center of our table. Then came the Ceviche de la casa. A winner in my book of ceviches! Plus a coaster-sized, fresh off the pan tortilla chips gave it a unique serving style. We had to order another bowl of tortillas because eating ceviche without it just won't be the same. The Calamar frito were perefectly breaded, without excess flour and grease in every bite. Another winner! Last but not the least is the Pasta de Mar with the clams of different sizes and pre-cut scallops in the their shell. Muy Delicioso! More hungry patrons started arriving and we still got prompt service. I will make it a point to grab a satisfying seafood dish or two here the next time I visit Ensenada whether by car or by cruise ship.

My fellowship, a cluster of mere mortals with taste far keener than foresight, insisted we seek a place foretold in gustatory prophecy: La Cocedora de Langosta. I assented, though the sea had begun to speak again. A cruel trick of salt and memory. We arrived. The lobster was not served--it presented itself. Shell split like prophecy fulfilled, meat steaming with tales older than Atlantis. The ceviche? Lime and fire in perfect alchemy. It hissed in my mouth like the last words of a betrayed siren. A whole fish, fried until its soul ascended, left bones so clean they could be used in ritual. Angels wept; I salted accordingly. The risotto arrived next, not on a plate but in a chalice. Each bite stirred marrow and memory, comfort and command. My sea legs stood straighter. My resolve thickened. Libations flowed--freely, fervently, faultlessly. The chalice refilled itself (or perhaps the staff were trained in illusion and replenishment). Laughter, clinking glass, and something close to joy dared to rise. Staff were keen-eyed adepts, operating with the grace of trained familiars. The atmosphere carried hints of volcanic enchantment and citrus optimism. Barry the Brave Muffin Baker--my misguided nemesis-ally--might have found peace here. Or at least, a decent aioli. Verdict: A rare convergence of flesh, flavor, and fate. Five stars scorched upon the firmament by my hand. I may never return. But that's only because the enchantment forbade it.

The original location was where the modern fish taco was born supposedly. It all started when Mesoamericans nixtamalized maize, which became flatbreads. Eventually it led to corn tortillas, which were used to hold various fillings like seafood. The Spanish Colonial period introduced new ingredients and cooking techniques. Japanese fishermen in Baja California during the early 20th century helped popularize tempura-style frying. Seafood vendors brought batter fish to the mercado in the 50s/60s, which became a hit. Then a San Diego State University student opened the first Rubio's a couple decades later, and now fish tacos are enjoyed by everyone today. I didn't spend much time here because I had to make it back onto the cruise ship. But as someone who appreciates food and history, it was nice to walk around. The original mercado shuttered in 1967 and the vendors relocated to the waterfront, and eventually moved into the building you see now. Lots of stalls selling all different types of seafood. There's also restaurants nearby where you can order ceviche, cocteles, oysters, and other regional specialties. Thus we made a point to stop by for food during our second cruise stop in Ensenada, 4 days later. We discovered the large crowds were not in line waiting, but were instead enjoying their ceviche and other cold seafood while standing up. It made for a festive atmosphere, definitely ramping up the enjoyment of really great tasting seafood. The food stall is located facing the main road of Ensenada (walking distance from the cruise port) and is separated into two parts: the front serving seafood tostadas and the back serving cocktails and aquachiles. Each had different lines, with a common guy accepting payment after delivery. They have been doing this for a while (1981?) and things are efficient. I wanted one thing, which was the mixed cocktail with all the seafood available (campechano, a word I've come to love since moving to the LA area). They have 4 sizes from chico ($105) to jumbo ($360). The seafood mix is diced together ahead of time to save on time, and are mostly diced pretty fine. The mix is prepared fresh though, and was ready in about a minute. It was excellent, refreshing and just the right amount for me. I had wanted to try the seafood cocktail again from La Guerrerense (another nearby famous seafood stand), so that was our first stop during our second visit to Ensenada in 5 days. We then visited other sites in the area, saving El Guero for the end before we headed back to the ship. As expected the cocktail from Guerrerense was very good, but this version from El Guero was even better....better selection of seafood, and more finely mixed to give a better representation of the different textures of the freshness. That would make it the best seafood cocktail I've ever enjoyed.

The fish and shrimp were fried fresh, light and crispy without being greasy. The shrimp was my favorite.
