The food was disappointing! The waiter had an attitude when told the food was not good. No apology and still charged us for everything! First of all, my husband ordered sea scallops he pointed to sea scallops on the menu to the waiter (it's a seafood place after all) he received some fried chicken steak that tasted awful on bed of rice he didn't like with some creamy heavy cheese sauce all over. He had one bite only. Never did anyone come over to inquire why. I ordered coconut shrimp with sauce and beans and rice (I'm in México right?) the shrimp were over fried tasted heavy and too much breaded. The sauce was not cocktail sauce or sweet and sour who knows what it was did not like it. The beans were horrible (my husband even ordered an extra side of beans to dip the chips in he didn't like them either and he's Mexican). The rice did not taste good. The chips were overfried. The only item I liked was the margarita. We asked for water with lemon they brought cloudy water that tasted too lemony (they squeezed lime in it)... That's why we were disappointed. read more

After being recommended to this place, we decided to grab a bite to eat before doing some drinking. It's located 1-2 blocks away from Frist Street. Quieter area and a perfect dinner spot. Tons of seating, both indoors and out. The whole menu is in Spanish, so if you don't know Spanish- you're SOL. Just kidding. Close your eyes, pick something, and I'm almost sure you'll love it. I ordered the Pulpo de Pepe's, which is an octopus dish. My fiancé ordered the Tuna Tartar. The two other people in our group ordered a salmon dish and some other white fish dish. Oh, and we had coconut shrimp and ceviche to start. I tried everyone's dish and loved everything! I was unaware that my dish would be soup, I definitely not programmed for that, but it was great. Loaded with seafood. They definitely don't skimp on portions here. For 5 margaritas, 1 beer, 4 entrees and 3 appetizers, our bill came out to about $90.00. Not bad. Great seafood for great prices. We went in during the late afternoon to grab some lunch and have some drinks. My friends and I took a table outside and our waiter was with us within moments. He was very pleasant. He took our order and grab our drinks right away. He checked on us several times to make sure we had what we needed. Our food didn't take long and it was very fresh and absolutely delicious. I had a chrome cocktail to start and the shrimp inside were enormous. The portion sizes were generous and the prices were beyond reasonable. The food is average... big portions but that usually makes up for quality and in this case it does. We went here on a Sunday as very few nice restaurants are open on a Sunday night in Ensenada. We ordered the steamed mussels, Michelle's linguini and and oysters on a half shell. We were thinking about ordering a lobster but their market price for a lobster was $32, which we thought was a little pricey. All of the food was decent and the bill came out to be less than $40. The food also came with lots of bread & chips and salsa so it ended up being a lot of food. What we ordered was perfect for 2 people and we were stuffed at the end. read more

This was a great place to eat in Mexico. Parking was very easy. The food was good and the prices are very fair for a good meal. Menus in Spanish and English which helped a lot. I had the Mahi-Mahi pulpa. Octopus in a chili and garlic sauce. It was great and cooked properly and not rubbery. The location is right down the street from the crazy places that are loud and sometimes out of control. I would recommend this restaurant to friends. read more

I brought a business guest to lunch late in the afternoon. My guest found TWO different hairs in both a Soup & then in a Salad. I'm low maintenance & forgiving but we made the waiter aware. We overlooked the 2 incidents & when our Entree was delivered I found a THIRD hair. I requested the Manager, he said "someone in the kitchen MAY not be wearing hair protection!" As we paid the bill & departed the outside seating, we could see into the kitchen. Out of EIGHT employees in the kitchen, NOBODY had hair protection! The mussel appetizers were so tasty, my parents who don't like mussels still enjoyed them. I had the shrimp linguini but tasted my table mates seafood stew, shrimp stew and octopus. This place is just OK. I have eaten several times here over the years as I live in Ensenada, and have not ever left here impressed with my dining experience. The size of the portions is just fair, and the vegetables have notably been mushy on every visit. Last time I was here, the fish was overcooked and dry, but on the other hand the tortillas, totopos, and salsas were quite good. It definitely is clean, the service is prompt, and there is rarely a problem with parking. Although tourists may be somewhat impressed with this restaurant, the local reputation is that the food quality and overall value are just average. The pricing is certainly a bit higher than other local seafood restaurants, probably because it is located within 2 blocks walking distance of the main tourist area on Primera street, and it is frequented heavily by tourists. If you are short on time while visiting Ensenada - and especially have no car - this restaurant will be just fine. On the other hand, if you plan on staying for more than a few hours or a day - and have a car - there are other local seafood restaurant options that are of better value. read more

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for years and I can say that the quality and service is constantly A+! Most dishes are great and you can't go wrong with the classic dishes like whole fried fish, shrimp, fish filet and my favorite is the pulpo mahi mahi which I order as an appetizer! If you can try out as it's next to the main drag and they always have a/c which is a blessing in those hot humid days that can hit ensenada once in a blue moon! I had dinner at Sanos last night and this place blew them out of the water both in quality and hospitality. We started w/ the Shrimp toritos, spicy but deliciousoso ! Next we moved on to Tuna carpaccio this melted in my mouth - the tuna was so tender with the just the right amount of garlic, and green onions. We finished off with the most delightful dish in the world and that was the camarones para chupar! A must have !! We will prob be back tomorrow ... lol ! This was possibly our best seafood experience we have had since our arrival in ensenada. We had looked at the reviews online, and it was a 2 minute walk from the karaoke bar we were at so we walked over. It was closing at 10pm, so we had 30 minutes to order and eat. Initially we ordered the mussels, the tuna tartare ( I get these 2 items everywhere I go) The mussels litterly melted in my mouth. The sauce was an incredible buttery, creamy delight that was accompanied with some warm bread rolls to soak up the sauce. Ok, the Tuna Tartare. I am a huge fan of tuna tartare and I am quite a snob when it comes to fresh tuna. This was absolutely hands down the best tuna tartare I have ever had globally. I'm not sure if it was my hunger, or my taste buds on fire, but my wife and I finished it within 5 minutes. The crackers that it comes with are delicious and highly compliment the freshness of the tuna. It's got just the right amount of avocado and I believe the tuna is marinated in their own homemade sauce. At this point, waiting for the fish tacos, I was already in food porn heaven. The fish tacos were also delicious but I didn't want to get the tuna tartare taste out my mouth. Then came the bill. This place is at least 40% cheaper than any other Resturaunt of this quality in the USA. Total bill for Mussels, tuna tartare, 4x fish tacos ( big tacos), 1 Marlon taco and a tuna taco was $24.25. The tacos here were highly disappointing (the fish taco, shrimp and tuna). My biggest complaint is the price of the lobster plate which was 500 pesos ($27)!! Insane, especially since the lobster was mostly covered with cheese and only got a few bites of meat from it. What a let down and overpriced. read more

The house special Michelle Linguine was just ok, due to the fact that at first the scallops were raw (maybe due to being frozen first), and then after we sent it back they were overdone like marbles! When you are looking for quality seafood and service believe me this is a spot you don't want to miss. We happened to be on a 3 day cruise and the boat docked in Ensanada, Mexico 6/26/15. The place was clean and we decided to dine outside the patio. While seated I was able to oversee the city and on the other side the smell of fresh aromas coming from the restaurant; as a matter of fact I was able to see them preparing the food. We started with an appetizer it was fried shrimp with garlic. The shrimp where huge and man where they tasty,succulent and cooked to perfection. I ordered a campechana for the main course. I can honestly say it was the best one I ever had in my life. My mouth is seriously watering while I write this review lol. Generous portions, great service, amazing fresh seafood dishes and definitley a spot you don't want to miss while visiting ensanada. I was so impressed I asked for the manager and complimented him and his staff on the great food and service. I told him they have a costumer for life. We were drinking wine at a local winery and got hungry. The staff recommended that we eat at Mahi-Mahi which was just down the road tucked in a safe corner. The staff was courteous and the dining experience went off without a issue. With very limited Spanish we managed to have a good time before we headed back to our cruise ship. Also worth mentioning that there were a lot of local families and we had a lot of food left over which is always a good thing. read more
