The fish supermarket is located in downtown of Ensenada which a 15 minutes walking distance from the Carnival Cruise port. I came here on a Carnival Cruise port on Christmas which is $4 for a bus that took you to downtown usually $2 each person. They charge double for the holiday day. Children under 6 can sit on the lap for free. Don't take the bus because it is a walking distance and much more fun! The fish supermarket has a strong fishy smell as you enter it. Everyone is very nice there, they speak little English and you can buy by pounds and have the kitchen next door cook for it. Overall, I did not get a chance to buy the fresh seafood in the supermarket for them to prepared for it because I was too full after breakfast in the cruise. I will definitely be back if I have the chance and try it!

The Fish Market is in walking distance from cruise pier, and it is just next to the "restaurant zone" on water front. I highly recommend that getting fresh or live seafood from the market and bring to a restaurant for cooking. Although we didn't eat there, what we capture on a video, https://youtu.be/fXl9zxxwN4Q?t=88, showed all the seafood on sale in the market.

For the freshest seafood in Ensenada, head to the Fish Market. A kilo of fresh fish will cost approximately $3 USD, half a pound of jump shrimp $7 USD, & 3 large lobsters for $36 USD. Afterwards, head over to Tacomiendo which is just across from the fish market where they will prepare your seafood. Prepare to negotiate. The restaurant next to Tacomiendo insisted on $36 to cook our seafood. We settled with Tacomiendo, they charged $23. There are additional seating behind the restaurant and they offered rice, onions, pico de gallo, salad, cabbage, and a variety of different kinds of hot sauces that ranged from really spicy to mild.

I love this market. After eating my fill at la Guerrense and El Guero, I make my way to the market and get some uber fresh seafood to take home. I've bought blue fin tuna, yellow tail, scallops, smoked tuna, red snapper, smoked marlin, oysters, shrimp, octopus and clams here! Right across the alley from the market there's like 10 seafood restaurants were you can grab an authentic baja fish taco. Take a walk on the board walk afterwards and enjoy the beautiful Pacific Ocean.

Captain Cortez is a reliable, and safe bet for all of your Seafood tastes. Everything is always…read morefresh, on piles of fresh ice all day, is deboned of scales perfectly, and cooks to a tender and flavor rich consistency, never mushy or too fishy. The welcoming and clean store also features specialty items from Southeast Asia that are challenging to find elsewhere, such as fresh lemongrass, Miso, Asian pasta, fish sauce, red, green, yellow curries, tofu, and fresh vegetables and extensive choice of spices, oils, (malt, rice) vinegars, etc. OMG, I almost forgot all of the home made fresh fish dressings and dips prepared by the owner. My favorite is her tartar sauce (the best) coupled by their Capeadora deep fried Curvino, Mero or Blanco. What a feast and treat. For some reason the fish I buy here always tastes so much better than any purchased from The Black Fish Market.
