    Adobada Taco, super good meat!
    Mike D.

This is the best taco spot we found so far in the area with amazing fish and pork (adobada) tacos. Great value for rally high quality. This was a hidden gem as the place wasn't busy for the great food they serve! Great stop for lunch between wineries.

Wow! Great food and ambiance!…read more We went here on a Saturday for lunch and the food was delish. I know most people talk about the food, so you can catch up on that in the other reviews but damn the wines they had on offer and the mezcal was damn amazing. I had the eclipse wine and for those wanting something fruit forward, this is it! I can't remember the mescal I had, but they offered it with fried crickets and orange slices!

The setting alone is worth the visit wide open views, rustic-modern design, and so many photo worthy spots you'll find yourself snapping pictures all throughout your visit. Whether it's the hillside views, the outdoor seating, or the golden hour lighting, this place is made for unforgettable moments. Now the food... incredible. Th ecachete is packed with flavor and cooked perfectly, and the pulpo is hands down one of the best I've had tender, smoky, and seasoned just right. Every dish feels thoughtfully prepared and elevated without losing that Baja charm. The drinks also deserve a shoutout great mixed drinks that are refreshing, well-balanced, and perfect to sip while taking in the views. Overall, Finca Altozano delivers on all fronts: amazing food, killer drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere with plenty of photo ops. Definitely a 5-star experience and a spot I'll keep coming back to

Directions on Yelp took us to someone's house, so we called the restaurant and made it in time. It was very tricky to get to Lunario! Only one other couple was there while we dined and they traveled from out of state! For the 8 course menu, we had: 1.zanahoria ahumada y feta 2. camaron con tomate verde 3. cangrejo kale y kumquat 4. lobina almeja con papa 5. sope de chirivia en molito 6. cabrito betabel jocoque 7. higos salvia y yogurt 8. sabayon con fresas Hubby opted for the wine pairing and I had a mocktail that was herbally, but refreshing. We started with some kind of water/tea that was so flavorful and were given some soft bread and butter. Each course was beautifully presented and so unique. I loved everything we tried. Service was excellent as well. You feel like you're in a green house! We went outside to take some photos since there is a small waterfall and some koi on the property. The bites are pretty small, so we ended up getting some tacos afterward LOL. I recommend coming here in an SUV because the road to this area is VERY bumpy. There were so many potholes because of the rain and lots of huge puddles. I wasn't sure if my car could make it out of here and I've been to other parts of Valle with no issues.

I was a little worried at first as my favorite duck tacos were no longer on the menu, in fact it was a whole new menu and a new chef. I needn't have worried, however, this restaurant is even better than it used to be (and it used to be pretty darn good -- and yes, you are talking to a food snob). It is now OUTSTANDING! I cannot recommend it highly enough. The menu was inspired and the dishes were creative, artistically presented, and above all delicious. Kudos to chef Juan Carlos Alvarado. Everything we had was terrific but especially not to be missed is the Tuna Appetizer made with Mezcal marinated grilled pineapple in a smoky ponzu sauce, for entrees the Chamorro de Cerdo Pibil is spectacular in both flavor and presentation (I wish I was a better photographer as my photos do not do the food justice). We also did a wine tasting with dinner, all 4 of the wines were great and we ended up buying some to take home. If you visit Baja's wine country, it merits seeking out this hidden gem!

They had a Tomahawk steak special ~$50 for 2 people and it was super delicious. The Chamorro, duck burritos, and even the table bread was on par.
