Amazing place to stop by if you are nearby! Our group had a day trip from the ports here and this was within walking distance. I had a huge craving for oysters and I just couldn't resist the variety of seafood they have here! The oysters were so fresh and barely needed any sauce and rather just a bit of lime. Im not sure what sauce they use but it was quite good as well! We also ordered the half order of ceviche which we thought the portion was huge! They do not skimp out on the seafood pieces and avocado! The limonada was so refreshing with the soda water! And of course cant skip out on the tequila here!! Service was so friendly! They brought out chips and salsa to start off with- along with the tuna dip which I loved!
The staff here is very nice and accommodating they were so helpful especially since we were just visiting from a stop off of our cruise ship, the food was tasty and fresh and my son loved the bean n cheese burrito which was not on the menu but made it up for us anyway. He said it was the best he's ever had all the ingredients were fresh and made from scratch you could taste the difference. Definitely recommend coming if u come through Ensenada. We will be back!! There was also plenty of seating and the ambiance was relaxed they also had a clean bathroom.
My buddies and I had a great experience at La Cevicheria in Valle de Guadalupe. The food was top notch, service was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. The Pate de Atún was good! Fish was fresh and sauce was smokey and smooth. Crackers were a great touch to Atún. Agua Chiles de Camaran were on another level. Perfectly spicy, and super fresh shrimp. Large portion and plenty of tostadas to share. Black sauce was my favorite and can't wait to get again. Bien hecho!!
Stumbled across this gem while on a quick port stop in Ensenada while cruising. I was craving authentic Mexican seafood and tequila and this spot did not disappoint. The food was delicious, fresh tasting and well balanced "flavor wise" and the friendly and prompt service was an added plus!! Highly recommend this spot!!
We have eaten here at least four times now, and every time we have had delicious seafood and tasty drinks. My typical order is the ceviche aguacate and a big mason jar of berry sangria. Yum! Everything is so fresh and healthy tasting. The medley of homemade salsas is a nice touch, either with your ceviche, or on plain tostadas. Service is stellar and the ambiance is lovely as well. You will want for nothing here!
This is why you always give a place a second chance! We came back this year and the food, service and drinks were amazeballs! We had a party of 12 and we were seated within minutes even though it started to get really busy! Cruise ships were ported and it was dinner time! The area they sat us in were away from the walking path and we actually were able to hold conversations and hear each other. The restaurant has two seating areas. You can sit inside the restaurant or have more of a European cafe feel and sit outside. We chose to sit outside because the weather was amazing. We actually felt it was better because we didn't feel so crowded and pushed up against the other patrons. All areas of the restaurants were extremely clean especially the bathrooms! The service was also amazing! Our customer service host took our orders in detail so everything turned out perfectly. He also came back a few times to make sure that we didn't need anything else. He was very upbeat and friendly! The food was extremely delicious! Our tummies were beyond happy. Here is a sample of the list of dishes we ordered and the ratings out of five stars. Sangria: This was definitely 5 stars! The berries and the adult soda were perfectly balanced! Definitely not watered down. The jalapeno mojito: 5 stars! Great citrus and sweetness and alcohol balanced! Oyster Shooter: 3 This one had a good flavor but it was lacking an alcohol. It seemed as though the only alcohol included was just beer. Oysters: 4 The oysters were extremely fresh and definitely not gritty! You did not get that sandy texture in your mouth or you felt like you had to spit everything out. I do wish that it came with more sauces that you can play with. Bone Marrow: 5 This was extremely cooked well and lightly salted and grilled. It had a perfect char to it. Arrachera: 4 The meat was a little rough this time but the flavoring was awesome! Shrimp and Fish tacos: 4 The crispiness and flavoring was so good. Maybe if they can just do a little less batter and a little bit more meat. Pastas: The kids love the pastas. The sauce was very tasty and the noodles were not overcooked. There wasn't even that liquid water that you get and some of the pasta dishes at other restaurants when you tilt the plate. Campechana 4 great flavoring and assortment of seafood. Just a little bit more seafood would have been great! There was a lot of veggies and sauce which were yummy! This experience completely changed our original review opinion the first time. This is why we always come back a second time just in case they had an off day. We will definitely be coming back to this one every time we visit!
So glad we found this place. We were wandering the streets looking for seafood and avoiding the mega touristy areas. The food here was fresh and excellent! The server brought out an octopus dip for us to try which I loved. The tacos were super flavorful and and unique with things I've never really tried before. I would love to come back and try everything!
We came here after a beach day looking just looking for an appetizer/snack. I shared the camerón al chipotle tostada with one other, it was so delicious and warm, great flavor all around. 10/10 will get this again and again. We could not stop thinking about it after. Next we shared Tropical ceviche which was also delicious. We ordered the half size and weren't even able to finish it. It was great and the mango combination was delicious. We had 3 beers as well. Definitely reasonably priced if not a good deal for what we got. Service was also great. We sat inside since no tables were available outdoors, but the big windows helped us get the daylight we needed.
Amazing experience from beginning to end. Our servers were both amazing and patient with our limited Spanish. The ceviche de la casa is top 3 ceviche I've had in my life. Fish, clam, octopus, and shrimp were so fresh!! The tostada shells and homemade salsas just complemented it. My wife had two HUGE fish tacos that were fantastic. Very nice place a few blocks from all the crowded, touristy areas that overcharge. This place not only had delicious seafood, but it's incredibly reasonable. I can't wait to go back in June. Highly recommend.
Awesome service & amazing seafood! We had the Ceviche Chiltepin which has tuna, shrimp & mackerel. All the Ceviche dishes was served with a tostada. Super delicious! We also had the Poseidon Taco, which had shrimp and octopus. They also serve meat dishes. We had the Arrachera, which is a Skirt Steak served w/ a cheese tostada, guacamole, grilled onions, & pico de gallo. Pair these delicious dishes with a cold Bohemia beer! The inside is clean and has a cool vibe. There is seating outside as well. When visiting Ensenada, I highly recommend!

Our FAVORITE place when in Ensenada is La Cevicheria. We have been visiting for a couple of years now and its still a standout in service and menu items. Never too busy even in the afternoon - they have plenty of tables outside and inside. We walk from the cruise ship terminal and its only about 15 minutes. No need to take the $4 per person shuttle if you are able to walk. They first seat you and bring out 4 different salsas/dips with tostadas that are so light and salty and crispy. The servers are awesome, they are quick and always come around to check on us. We speak some Spanish, but they are happy to speak English as needed! Unfortunateley there is only 1 bathroom, that's the only drawback. We normally get the regular oysters, the baked oysters, fish tacos and ceviche. Always delicious and such a great price! A dozen oysters is only $12. And they are large, not the mini versions in Cali. Unheard of in the states, so we ONLY get oysters in Mexico haha. This time we tried the Keto Taco - OMG so good, and now a new favorite. It's large and made of toasty cheese with fish and veggies inside. This time we got the shrimp ceviche and the large chunks of fresh shrimp are so darn good. Put some mayonesa on the tostada and then some ceviche, then some hot sauce and WOW! The limes they give are so juicy and ripe. We love their sangria, large portions and various flavors. Till next time! read more

Ordered Ceviche Chiltepin (1/2 serving) Lemonade Lemonade was served in a mason jar with a side of lime ends, which you can use to add more flavor to the lemonade. It was a sweet lemonade and with the additional option of adding lime (i squeezed 5 ends), it made it different and more pleasant. The Ceviche was large for a single order. A full order would be best with two people. It is served with 4 house made sauces and 4 bottles of sauce. Be warned, 2 of the house sauces I was given had habaneros and one of the bottles has Habaneros. The houses sauces are (scores out of 5): A sweet mango with habanero kick (4) Mild generic salsa (3) Green chili with smokey flavor (4) Garlic spicy oil, akin to asian chili sauce (4) All in all, sauce a 4/5 Service was good High Tables inside, sitting tables outside, clean The server did not know where the oysters were from (I find this a negative) The did have a number of oysters on ice at the bar, but I did not notice anyone ordering them. Most people were ordering tacos. Lastly there was a 4-man mariachi band playing. They were playing without any amplifiers or speakers, and from where I sat the music was not too loud. They switched crews, where some of the 1st group remained but played different instruments. I was told that they move around the area and have different men play. (4) Finding the location from word of mouth: The shop has a street front on a corner of the side street... This is NOT the actual restaurant! The restaurant is between the buildings from that signage! Find the sign, check the hours. If closed, look down between the buildings to see if there is another building with the same signage. Such great food, beautiful restaurant, and full of locals. The servers were very nice and helped translate some things for me, but I recommend using Google to translate the menu if you don't speak Spanish. Will definitely be back again! read more

Their tuna burritos are absolutely amazing. I worked on a cruise ship and when we would port in Ensenada my best-friend and I made sure to get some tasty tuna burritos every time if we could! LOVE this place and the service is spectacular! read more

Wow...so bomb and still thinking about the tacos and ceviche I had here. Highly rec the conos (cone) tacos. We tried both the Poseidon (fried octopus) and Patron (grilled octopus) and they were AMAZING. The cones are generously stuffed with beans, guacamole, the meat, and are rounded out by a super crunchy outer taco shell. Insanely good and fresh. I enjoyed the grilled octopus one the most. Next, the ceviche. Insanely fire. We liked the Chiltepin Ceviche the most, it is quite sour so if you like sour things, you're in for a treat. The De La Casa is a bit more of a drier and less liquidy ceviche, but also so fresh and hearty. Absolutely would come back if I was ever in Ensenada again! Our Uber driver also recommended this place when he saw we were heading there, so you can rest assured it has the locals' approvals as well. The place was pretty full when we got there, but we were able to find seating quickly. read more
Shrimply delicious. This is a must-visit spot in Ensenada. I visited Cevichería with three of my besties this past weekend. While I normally lead the charge when it comes to choosing the perfect local eatery, one of my buds found this spot on Reddit and insisted that we dined here. I'm so glad we did because this dining experience was a highlight of the weekend. Cevichería was well off the beaten path and required a bit of walking from the port. While sticking to tourist traps can be fun, there's something so awesome about eating where the locals dine. We ordered a round of Dos Equis, guacamole, and ceviche for the table. The Ceviche de La Casa was loaded with octopus, shrimp, fish, veggies, and full slices of avocado. This was some of the freshest seafood I've ever tasted! Highly recommend ditching Papa's & Beers for this local gem. read more

Yes! One of our initial stops on a recent trip to Ensenada and it absolutely set the tone right. Plentiful outdoor seating for our large group. Efficient, focused service. Fantastic wide ranging menu and super reasonable prices. Everything we ordered food and drink wise hit the spot. Very fresh and flavorful. Beautiful presentation too. Would come back without a doubt when craving fresh seafood and beverages. read more

Came on a Friday night about 6:00. They close early, so most people were already eating. Service was fast and friendly, and our server tried hard to help us with our broken Spanish. The menu is only Spanish, so have your translator ready if you don't speak Spanish. My husband isn't big on ceviche, so he opted for tacos - fish and Shrimp. Both were ok - there are definitely better taco options in town. The star of course is the seafood. I got the ceviche de la casa - the half order. It was a huge order. My husband ate some also, and we still didn't finish it. Very fresh and loved the variety in it. Also asked for our server's preference of the cooked oysters, and he said the Gratinados. They were delicious! The cheese was not overwhelming, and the oysters still nice and tender. I got a mezcal cocktail that ended up being frozen, which I was not expecting. Probably would get something else next time. Overall a great stop. Wish they were open later, but I understand it's a cultural thing with not serving seafood late into the evening. We loved this place! It was just down the street from La Guerrerense, and it was perfect to stop in after for some amazing oysters and delicious margaritas. The servers were very friendly and the setting was fun, open to a little pedestrian mall. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Ensenada! read more

This place was packed! The service- good and friendly. Our server was attentive though a bit busy. He did well though. Very polite and helpful. The ambience- not too noisy. About average noise level. We had to sit outside and it was a bit chilly but they had a good amount of heaters which made it a bit more comfortable. The food- I had the fettuccini Alfredo . Very good I highly recommend. There is a good mix of seafood. Only complaint is that it's a bit small but the flavors harmonize pretty well. Well done. We also tried the tempura and grilled oysters. Those were not my favorite. I've had better. The tempura ones were better but still a little hard on the pallet. The grilled were not very appetizing in my opinion but my husband liked them. We also tried several tacos. The paisa, the keto, the Perron. I didn't have any but the general consensus was that they were alright. Nothing that made them stand out. Not sure we would come back just for the tacos. Unfortunately we didn't have enough room to try the actual ceviches. Maybe next time. Overall this was a good experience. The food was generally good and the ambience was nice and calm and cozy. We will come back to try some other things and make more of a decision on whether this place will be one of our mainstays. This place was recommended by a local and def checked all the boxes. Fresh, delicious, good sized portions and attentive service. This place is def the spot to get a good ceviche and beer on a hot day or really just any day. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We came in a group and they seated us fairly quickly. The toughest decisions are made here when handed the menu. Be advised, the menu is all in Spanish. Make sure to brush up on a bit of Spanish or make sure you have service in Mexico to look up some menu items/translate. Some servers may speak some English. They have extensive seafood combinations! From ceviche de la casa (one I ordered) to ceviche with mango all sound amazing! Some of their ceviches are cooked others are raw or a combination of both. I am not a big fan of oysters so I asked for no oysters and not a hint of them were in my plate. The octopus was cooked to perfection and good amount of it; not chewy at all. There's also an option to order half order or full order on ceviches. I didn't see that til after I had already ordered. Half size would prob be better as the full order was too much food for me (one person). Ceviches are served with tostadas. You can ask for extra lemon if needed. Aside ceviche, they also have fish tacos, shrimp tacos, octopus tacos to seafood quesadillas. Their sauces are spot on. Some of the best sauces I've had in a cevicheria. They had a mango salsa (hint of spicy), tamarind (sweet & spicy), macha (spicy oil based sauce) & green salsa. All complement the plates here. If you're ordering lemonade or any of their refreshers do note they're served in large mason jars. I had agua de limon (lemonade) and I must say it was sweetest with a balanced citrus kick which was perfect on a hot summer day. You can definitely share this between two people. I was told their Kraken tamarind beer is good too. That's next on my list! If you're visiting from the states, they do take credit cards. If you're in a group and seated together they won't split checks too many ways unless it's card and cash. The exchange rate we received when we visited was $17.50 pesos for $1 USD. Ceviche I ordered was $290 pesos (don't be alarmed) so roughly $16.57 USD for full size ceviche. Def worth every penny if you ask me! read more

If you've ever been to Spain and eaten outside, this is pretty close to recreating it. A wonderful spot amongst other upscale businesses in the area. It's not in your typical Ensenada shopping area (probably 5 minute walk). We sat outside, food was great and very affordable. Everything was clean and seafood was fresh. Would recommend for large groups who just want to relax. read more

Great place within walking distance to Calle Primera! Creative fusion-y dishes such as Al Pastor entirely made from tuna (yummy). Agua Fresca of the day was guava (great deal and delicious). For two people, a half order of ceviche was perfect. One of the best ceviches I ordered in Ensenada. Everything came to a decent price, would return! read more

Went there for lunch with the boys while on a cruise. The oysters were fresh and a great price. All the drinks we ordered were tasty as well. Service was quick considering it was a packed house. Overall it's a must for me when I visit Ensenada! read more
