What a great yummy meal to end our lil getaway from Baja with! This was on our friend's SHOULD TRY list, and we are so happy we did! The restaurant was spacious, clean and the host was very welcoming! They offer both a buffet and menu items. They will even tweak the recipes for you! The roasted butter sauce was definitely the dealmaker! However, the scallops were overcooked and dry. Shrimp, carne and cheese quesadilla: 3 when we ordered the quesadilla option we really thought it was a quesadilla. However, when it came out, it looked more like a soft taco what just meat and a corn tortilla. The flavoring was good but it was lacking quite a bit when you were expecting a quesadilla! We had to go to the buffet side to go get lime, salsa, La crema and other things to put into it to turn it into a soft taco. Our food was amazing, but our server was terrible! We ordered two large dishes in which we eventually had to take half of it home, which was fine, because we really enjoyed our food so much, but our server is a different story. He was in kind of a grumpy mood during the whole time we dined there, and we really wish we had gotten a different server. They all seemed and looked much nicer based on observing them! He was so hard to find every time we needed or looked for him. When we wanted the check, It literally took us 25 minutes from the time I asked for it to the time we walked out of the restaurant. We were ready to leave and we couldn't! I would return here for the food, but if I saw he was our server again, I would quickly ask for a different one. I was brought to this restaurant as a birthday gift. I love seafood! This huge place is it! . We came late about closing however.( they still allowed us to enter. The waiter was a very nice man; he took our orders and brought them back sporadically. There were five of us. Four of us were served, however the last person served was approximately 15-20 minutes later. I ordered the "shrimp, scallop and octopus". This had red onions, chiles and cucumbers for $345 pesos. My man ordered the "El Primo Nava Shrimp" stuffed shrimp rolled with bechamel sauce. It comes with salad and rice for $185.00 pesos. We all shared our dishes so, I have the ability to comment on all of the plates. Next our friend ordered the Marlin plate for $23.00 pesos. Then, someone else ordered the shrimp and clam dish ordered from the "Estofados" section at $145.00 pesos. We all shared chips and salsa. I enjoyed all of the food. Most of the restaurant was clean however; someone had to use the bathroom and then came back to eat. After sitting down she claimed she might vomit because the bathroom was so nasty. The chips were just ok as well as the salsa. I felt guilty tasting the Marlin but... OMG IT WAS DELICIOUS! If you have never tasted Marlin but enjoy tuna in a steak form you have got to try this dish! The clam with shrimp was very small but delicious. The shrimp stuffed and wrapped in bacon was just ok for me, not a big deal. My dish of shrimp, scallops and octopus was delicious, but they had so many chile seeds that it was too spicy and drowned out the flavors of the dish. I also think that there were too may red onions. After eating I took a few pictures of the decor. There was a huge whale jaw bone that was really trippy. I would eat here again. The prices are great! However, I would custom order each dish. I would also like to come back when the oyster bar is open. If you are ever in town and enjoy seafood this is a place to come. Make sure to convert your dollars to pesos at an exchange center first. Spacious full service mariscos spot in a low key section of Ensenada. Tostada especial is glorious. Aguachiles are super fresh and the shrimp are like butter. Filete relleno de mariscos wasn't the best ever but it was tasty. 4 Stars for the "Almejas Gratinadas al Carbón con Camarón" which are char-grilled clams with cheese and shrimp. Shrimp ceviche and shrimp aguachile is just okay. I felt that prices were a bit high compared to other seafood restaurants in the area. For example a shrimp and scallops fish was $15 which is comprable to what I pay in the U.S.. This place a great for big groups who want to sit down, eat seafood, and have some beers as it is big enough to hold large crowds. It is also not too far from the Ensenada strip. We came here 7 or 8 years ago with a friend and couldn't remember where it was! Yesterday, we came with a group of friends and we were so excited to see this was the same place we were looking for! The place is huge and made to serve as many people as possible-one very large room with as many tables and fit in as possible. As you enter, you pass the many huge tubs of ceviche, smoked marlin dip, etc. that make you hungry as you pass. Behind them is the kitchen area and to the side, the bar. We came around 6:30 and the place was packed! We had a group of 6 but Jorge found us a large table at the back of the room. Three of our group hadn't been here before so one guy did the ordering of a selection of different items from the menu. The first order was a bucket of Pacifico beer-6 bottles of beer in a bucket of ice. We also ordered the Smoked Marlin Dip, 2 Coctel de Camerones, Pina Del Mar (that Jorge suggested), Shrimp Primo Nava and dessert was a coconut ice cream in a coconut shell and chocolate ice cream that looked like a big bon bon. The Smoked Marlin Dip is a huge portion that comes with crackers or tostadas was wonderful! The Pina del Mar was shrimp, octopus, and other seafood with mango and blueberries (?!) in a a hollowed out pineapple. It was seasoned with ground chiles making it a bit spicy for some but I thought it was very good. I was surprised how good the blueberries went with the seafood. The Coctel de Camerones was excellent-the flavoring very tasty and tons of shrimp. The Shrimp Primo Nava is huge shrimp stuffed with crab and wrapped in bacon. I've had this at another restaurant locally but this was the best. The bacon wasn't so smoky or strong that it took over the flavor, the shrimp was huge and overstuffed with crab so you really gots huge bite! The coconut ice cream in a coconut shell that they bring in all the way from Mexico City was a not too sweet with plenty of real coconut flavor. But the chocolate (though had a flavor of coffee) covered in a chocolate that made it look like a bon bon was sooo good that it won over all of us. Food here is simply amazing. Everything is fresh, the serving is generous and the prices very fair. We will definitely be back here many, many times! I can't wait to try all the dishes reviewed by the other Yelpers. P.S. Came to Ensenada while on a Carnival cruise with my friends and we asked a tour guide where the best Mariscos would be. He got us a taxi to take us to this place and WOW. Amazing! So fresh and such good quality and cheap too! We ordered oysters, shrimp ceviche, and clams with shrimp and cheese... all mouth-watering. We've come to understand that asking for la cuenta is the norm... but we waited for about 10 minutes to receive the bill. Then, he took my card and we had to wait another 15 minutes to tip and sign. We ended up going to the cashier (only servers do this) to sign. He zoomed up there and blamed 'mas gente' for the wait. Yuck. Mas gente pay the bills! We stopped by for dinner at 6:00 and closed the place down. Our party of eight sampled many items on them menu. First thing to know is always get the "chica" size.
