It was my first time eating here (I had a coupon for $3 off any lunch sandwich and so had to check this place out). My first attempt failed because I didn't know they close really early. They closed at 4pm and I came around 4:05pm. Knowing that, my second attempt was successful. I chose a lunch panini since that was what the coupon was for. I ordered an ITALIAN CHICKEN PANINI on a multi-grain bread with the side of a POTATO SALAD. The ITALIAN CHICKEN PANINI was spot-on! The panini grilled made the exterior of the bread crunchy (but not too crunchy where it scratches the roof of your mouth). The ingredients that make up the panini--chicken, red peppers, spinach, mozzarella cheese, and this sauce that put it all together--were cooked nicely and was hot/warm to the taste. I am a big fan of all the ingredients, maybe that's why I loved this panini so much. Even after I realized how many calories the entire sandwich made up, I didn't care! The POTATO SALAD was alright. I've had better, but at the same time it wasn't bad. I'm happy with almost any potato salad. Hahaha. I come here on a weekly basis in the morning to meet up with some friends over coffee and bagels and this Einsteins is the perfect place to do that! Plenty of seating makes it a great place to come by yourself, with a friend or two, or with a group. On a nice day, I recommend sitting outside. Not too loud and occasionally there are a couple of ducks that hang out there looking for some bagel crumbs. I pretty much stick to the same script each time I come which is the mushroom and asparagus egg white thin on the everything bagel, toasted. This is one of their healthiest options on the menu so I never feel weighed down or guilty after eating it. I order the thintastic bundle which includes a medium coffee with my sandwich. Their coffee is decent, not great, but it does the job, especially when it is paired with my bagel sandwich. They have a myriad of creative bagels including the Jalapeno cheddar, chocolate chip and other flavors, so if you like trying new bagels, you can do that here. Expect loooong lines if you come on a Saturday or Sunday morning when the place is packed to the max. Much shorter lines on a weekday morning. You can also come her to study if you like, but there are no outlets if you need to plug in your laptop or cell phone which stinks. I live in Long Beach, but I was in the area and stopped by for a quick bite. I had read the reviews and was pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely cheery, very helpful and knowledgeable. They greeted me and my party as we walked in, and I could tell they were following all safety/health protocols. The manager was behind the counter assisting with orders and even asked if she could help with anything, they were pretty busy and had a small line outside. However, they did not rush my order or make me feel like I needed to hurry away. As always, the bagels were delicious, the orange juice was fresh and the coffee was perfect. Beware! Their curbside order pickup is terrible! I ordered a bagel toasted with butter but wanted cream cheese and the online ordering gave me No option to order cream cheese. So I ordered the bagel and went to the curbside to pick up and they never came out. So I called and told them I wanted to add cream cheese and they said I had to come in to pay for cream cheese! I don't know if it's management, the staff, or something else but the one thing I can always count on at this location is for my order to take three times as long as it should. I try to utilize the mobile order before leaving for work so that by the time I get to the store my order should be ready as the app states "see you in 15-20 minutes." However, it is usually not ready and takes another 15-20 minutes after I arrive to even be completed. And that's if I can even get the app to work in order to mobile order, which half the time it doesn't. The bagels and breakfast sandwiches are good and the staff is mostly friendly and helpful. There's a nice little outdoor seating area that is perfect for leisurely noshing....The only problem is that you need to bring earplugs! The staff drags the large, wheeled trashcans out the front door and along the bumpy bricks to the dumpster every 10 minutes or so and it makes a terrible racket! I had a issue with my to go order. I spoke with Alex. I ordered two onion bagels with cream cheese and One onion bagel with eggs and bacon and cheese. I drove 10 minutes to pick up my order. When I arrived, I stayed at the pick up desk waiting for my order and the girl came over to me and announced to me "sorry we only have one onion bagel" The whole reason that we drove all the way Einstein was to get onion bagels... That is the only kind of bagel we like. It was extremely frustrating and irritating that nobody told us there were no onion bagels when I called to place the order. Otherwise, I would never have even gone to this location. I would've gone to that location by John Wayne airport. While paying for some bagels, I could not resist Einstein Brother's Mudslide and Chocolate Chunk cookies. The Mudslide cookie was crispy. Some parts were too hard, but the center was brownie-like. The flavor was great, but the texture took away from it. The Chocolate Chunk cookie was too buttery. Its wonderfully chewy texture was a stark contrast to the horrible texture of the Mudslide. I have always been a fan of Einstein Bros. bagels. I have been going ever since I was little and before it was changed from "Noah's Bagels". Today was an upsetting experience. My mom ordered "a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese". I always ask for "A plain Bagel, double toasted, with Extra, extra cream cheese" because I know regular toasting does nothing and regular cream cheese is very skimpy. I also order the double baked hash brown and a vanilla cream cold brew. The cold brew was surprisingly very good, it's really sweet and can't taste too much of the cold brew which I like. The hash brown is soft and soggy from the shmear and cheese loaded inside. Not crunchy like I would hope. When I opened up our packaging for our bagels, they look exactly the same. Completely skimping out on cream cheese when I had asked for extra. Two stars only for the coffee and the actually bagel itself (which is still wonderful through all these years). It pains me that after years of spending money for every office breakfast, it's come to writing a bad review... It's beyond me how an establishment goes without notice on so many bad reviews left, zero response or accountability for their rude employees. I've placed many online orders through catering before and have had to call to make special requests. In the past, the employee would be super helpful and accommodate my order. This last time the employee was completely rude and unwilling to help. I was told to call back in the morning so that they could help me. I call in the morning and was told "great. we just finished making your order and now we have to make that sandwich all over again!" I don't get it... If these people hate customer service that much then get a new job! Being nice to your patrons is literally 100% of your customer service job description so it should be non negotiable to treat customers with a helpful and polite manner. Both times they had a long line of customers and the wait for your food is long. I think they need more people working the cash register and preparing the food. I ordered a large iced coffee and the Santa Fe egg sandwich, served on an Asiago bagel. I wasn't in a rush, but I waited about 20 minutes for my order (which is a little long for anyone's patience). As I was waiting, the line remained around the small restaurant. The restaurant was messy. They had trash on the floor and the coffee station was not well maintained by the staff. Came here for lunch for first time and they had a great selection of baked goods and breakfast/lunch ideas. Ordered a pretzel bagel with turkey and cheese toasted. It was really delicious, along with a bag of chips and drink. They have indoor seating and the store had some fun pictures on the wall. I liked this place. I understand it is a east coast favorite. I just cannot believe how this place continues to be run so poorly. This is a complaint well before COVID but definitely has worsened now. The layout, management, flow and execution is terrible. Huge lines, poor communication, items not available and visible prior to entry - people milling about in post ordering purgatory. It truly as if there is no leadership. Not leveraging the fact that the dining room is closed to even attempt to bifurcate the lines for faster processing, having 2 registers, not having speakers, an expediter, or a greeter during peak times is brutal.
