Love the Ace. They have the jumbo donut only place in Irvine, Tustin and Lake forest who makes it. We called so many donut shops and they were the only ones who clearly understood the task. The owner asked the right questions and was extremely helpful. We were sooo glad and surprised. Ordered 2 days ahead and sprinkles are the way to go. The sky is the limit in decorations and will order for my super bowl bash. They take credit cards yessss and plenty of parking. Door faces the chevron and next to habit. Staff is all family and they are very kind and friendly. Donuts are made daily. Great job We love Ace

    Burnt apple fritters

I had been going to Ace Donuts on and off for a decade. I hadn't been in a few months so I went in today looking for an apple fritter for my husband when I saw these burnt fritters. I asked the gentleman at the counter if they had any ones in the back that weren't burnt and he was snarky when he said, "No. they're supposed to look like this." Apple Fritters are the only donuts my husband will eat so I know what they are supposed to look like a these chunks of charcoal they were trying to pass off as apple fritters weren't right.

My favorite donut store in Irvine! Right down the street from my house. It reminds me of my favorite donut store back in my home town. It's family run and the staff is very nice every time I've gone. They have a very good selection of donuts and they all have been delicious. I've never been lucky enough to get my hands on the donut holes there as they always sell out by the time they get there but it just gives me a reason to keep coming back!

I got there around the time they were just opening. I found this place through next door app. The relative was spreading the word that her family owns it and i support family businesses. They were just making these when i came and not ready, so it means its fresh. I can hear the oil boiling. I was patient and it paid off. The strawberry one had little custard and powdered sugar on top. The bun is very nicely fluffy and light flavor.

Person who served me was very nice. However, the bran muffin was not tasty. The texture was heavy. Dissapointed.

When I searched on Google for ice cream near me- chocolate shoppe ice cream popped up then upon looking further I realized it was sold within duck donuts. Still ventured to try it Two guys working, one said he was new, and didn't know where all the flavors were / allowed us to try some b4 we ordered but was a pain bc the flavors were spread between two freezers in front of store and whatever was in the back. Placed an order for 3 double scoop cups (all they had) and took a really long time to make them having to figure out where the flavors were between the front and back of store. Then. They didn't have lids to cover them or a bag to put them in - so we literally covered each cup with another cup and put in a box I had from Costco in my trunk to get them home without dripping everywhere in my car. And I say dripping everywhere bc by the time he finished the last cup/. The others were melted from taking so long. They should probably just stick to donuts if they can't fully support the ice cream products. If I knew now/ I wouldn't have chosen to try there for ice cream. Very unfortunate, bc we probably would have loved the ice cream - but the experience clearly trumped the product.

We came on a Sunday afternoon and I was immediately drawn to their case of yummy and aesthetically pleasing looking donuts. I ended up going with the "Bumbleberry Glazed" ($5.50) which is a combination of blueberry, blackberry and raspberry glaze atop of their 40 hour fermented sourdough yeast donut. Their donuts are fried to order so mine arrived perfectly warm and is definitely one of the best yeast donuts I've ever had. Service is friendly, and the shop is clean with ample amount of indoor and some outdoor seating so you can enjoy your donut right then and there. I can't wait to come back to try more of their other flavors!

We went around 11am on a Saturday, and it was definitely busy. Not line-out-the-door busy, but…read moreevery table inside and outside was filled, a few people were waiting on orders, and there was a small line. First impression? Immediate sticker shock. A single donut for $5.50 and half a dozen for $34 is kind of wild. At those prices, my expectations shot way up. One thing I will give them--the donuts are fried to order, which is a nice touch because you know they're fresh. We ordered the Meyer lemon glazed, strawberry glazed, and the bumble berry. After ordering, we waited about 5-10 minutes, which isn't terrible, but for almost $18 for three donuts, I was definitely questioning if it would be worth it. Unfortunately... I don't think it was. The texture of the donuts was amazing--super soft, pillowy, and honestly really enjoyable to eat. The base donut itself had great flavor too. But the actual fruit flavors? That's where it fell flat. None of them were very strong, and after a few bites they all started to taste the same. The biggest disappointment for me was the lemon donut. Lemon is usually such a bold, bright flavor, so I thought it would be an easy favorite. Instead, it was one of those "smells like lemon but tastes like nothing" situations, which was honestly frustrating. If I had to rank them: strawberry was the best, then bumble berry, then lemon--but overall, none of them really stood out enough to justify the price. I really wanted to love this place given all the hype, but for me, it's just too expensive to risk being underwhelmed. I probably wouldn't come back.

First and foremost, the worker was very helpful (showing us how to work the app, etc), and they had the box ready to go as soon as we got there. I was not expecting the service to be that quick, so that was lovely. Now onto the donuts: I want to say that all of these donuts were tried late at night, and so I took into account that they were probably better in the morning (fresher!) Despite this, the dough on the majority of them was still very fluffy, and none of them were noticeably "stale". My friends and I each had a bite of every donut, and in the interest of saving time, I'm just going to highlight our favorites. Myself: The Cronut was unexpectedly my number one. It was the perfect mix of not too sweet/not too savory and was just fantastic. The texture and layering were perfect, and I loved the glaze. Just delicious. I also enjoyed the apple fritter (Classic) and the basic powdered sugar twist. My friend Marco lauded the quasi-cinnamon roll, which we all agreed was quite good, as well as the apple fritter (Good choice, Marco!). My other friend, Kat, was a big fan of the cinnamon sugar twist, as well as the glazed bar. We all agreed that the selection in the mystery box was varied and well-rounded, fitting for people with differing tastes. I also want to shout out the raspberry-filled croissant; low expectations for that one, but good. We will most likely come here again. Thanks, Mags!

They rotate specials and themed days (like Huckleberry Mondays, cinnamon roll drops, etc.), which keeps things interesting and gives you a reason to come back. The donuts themselves are elite--high-end ingredients, well-balanced flavors, and consistently strong across the menu. This isn't your standard donut shop--this is closer to pastry-level execution. That said, you pay for it. Pricing is aggressive--$25-$30 for a small box isn't unusual. But to be fair, the product backs it up. If you're looking for cheap donuts, this isn't your spot. If you want some of the best donuts you can get, it absolutely is. Where it falls short is operational consistency. Service can get messy when it's busy. The biggest issue is how they handle sold-out or limited items--it's inconsistent. Sometimes they'll let you buy and wait for a fresh batch, other times they won't allow it at all. That lack of clarity creates friction in what should be a premium experience. Bottom line: Top-tier product, premium pricing, slightly inconsistent execution on the service side. Still worth it--just go in knowing what you're getting.

It is a tiny shop that is more of a grab and go spot, but there a few seats in the front to enjoy your sweet treat if your inclined to have it there.
