I go here about 2 to 3 times a month. Service has gotten better from 7 years ago. I think price is fair. It's our closet pink box donut shop and the kids love donuts. We usually get a couple ham and cheese croissants, an apple fritter and 6-12 donuts. If you go to early they won't have all the selections available but it shows he fresh they are. read more

The owner is a really nice guy, our car was stuck in front of his shop at night while my husband tried to get food from Habbit next-door. In the morning I called Ace Donuts and talk to the owner so he won't call a towing service and explain what happened tonight before, he was such a nice guy. He offered to leave a note on the car and he did just that. Called the second time and told him that we cannot contact the Hanmi Bank on the right side of his shop because it's automated service, he offered that he would go talk to the manager of the Bank. Can you believe it? at noon next day, we went there to get the car, he was so kind came to the car and gave us some advice so I had to try his donuts and yes, they are very delicious. Love the Ace. They have the jumbo donut only place in Irvine, Tustin and Lake forest who makes it. We called so many donut shops and they were the only ones who clearly understood the task. The owner asked the right questions and was extremely helpful. We were sooo glad and surprised. Ordered 2 days ahead and sprinkles are the way to go. The sky is the limit in decorations and will order for my super bowl bash. They take credit cards yessss and plenty of parking. Door faces the chevron and next to habit. They have a very good selection of donuts and they all have been delicious. I had been going to Ace Donuts on and off for a decade. I hadn't been in a few months so I went in today looking for an apple fritter for my husband when I saw these burnt fritters. I asked the gentleman at the counter if they had any ones in the back that weren't burnt and he was snarky when he said, "No. they're supposed to look like this." The young man who waited on me was so friendly and knowledgeable about a variety of donuts and their taste, as he has sampled a lot of competitors'. My simple glazed donut was large, fluffy, tender, and lightly glazed. Not greasy, dripping in glaze. Just perfect. I was a former Krispy Kreme lover, but the flavor and size of this gem puts a Krispy Kreme at $2.59 each to shame. Stopped by on the way to a bible study meeting on a Wednesday morning and got a dozen assorted donuts. The guy who helped me was very nice and attentive. I was in and out so quickly. I had never been to this donut shop but it looked like your typical donut shop with the display cases filled with an assortment of donuts. Vibes felt like a homey, small business. The tastes of the donuts were very good. Light and airy and not overly sweet. If I'm in the area and in need of a sweet treat, I'd stop by. I have been going to Ace for years and have had good service until recently. My son purchased a donut and took a bite and it was not good, it was stale. I returned hoping they would exchange it for a new one with no complications. The young man refused to take it back and give me one that hopefully would not taste bad. he refused saying he had taken a bite and when I told him how would my son know it's not good until he's taken a bite. I wouldn't be returning it if it were bad. any other place or restaurant would have replaced it, they didn't. I even paid for a different one because he was hungry and we were traveling. the new one was not stale. I can't believe for $2 he would not give me a new one. I got there around the time they were just opening. I found this place through next door app. The relative was spreading the word that her family owns it and i support family businesses. They were just making these when i came and not ready, so it means its fresh. I can hear the oil boiling. I was patient and it paid off. This donut shop is so consistently good that I never got around to reviewing it, although I have been a customer for over 10 year. There are no gimmicks here. The donuts are all of the standard shapes, consistency and flavors with which we are so familiar: cake, raised and old fashioned; glazed, chocolate, iced, sprinkles. They somehow have a least a few of every donut available, pretty much anytime up until 11am. Many other shops are pretty well picked over by 9am. How do they do it? Quality, consistency and quantity? I liked this place back in the 90's, when they had Slush Puppy drinks and they made good donuts. These days they're donuts don't taste right, and the hours are just breakfast hours. This place is always closed, I have no idea how they're still in business. I always thought it was a front for a drug business, and it's just strange how they're still in business as a donut store, it makes you think. Plus they charge a stupid fee for the box, you're telling me there's a box shortage when you're a donut shop who sells specific boxes for donuts? So, my review here is long overdue to be updated. I think my first time in here was a fluke bad day. I have returned many times since... it is close to my work, they take Amex, I get breakfast for my office every Friday, its convenient... and the donuts are good! I just tried the bacon maple donut this morning for the first time, it was good! The two guys in the morning are always friendly, and helpful. My coworkers really like the donuts here, I have tried the danish (cheese, strawberry, chocolate chip) and a few of the donuts... next I want to try one of the muffins.
