Taiwanese food to hit the spot after a long drive from the Los Angeles area... thank you eHotPot for being available for takeout during COVID-19! I used the GrubHub app to order three bento boxes. Highly recommend the grilled salmon bento ($14) with a black tea and white rice. My youngest daughter wanted sausage - and while Taiwan sausage was a bit sweet to her liking, she enjoyed the rest of her bento box ($13). My oldest girl requested teriyaki chicken ($13). Her chicken was really good. Tender. The portions were hefty. We saved a bit in my cooler to give to my brother's German Shepherd the next day when we arrived in New Mexico. Service was great. I called when we arrived and a very nice young lady brought out our food and drinks promptly. Then ran back in to get us extra sauces and napkins. :) If I lived in the area, I am pretty sure I would enjoy the dining experience here as soon as this whole COVID-19 mess is over. read more

We ordered hot pot for dinner and although it seems like a good concept, it's not. There's essentially a big pot of boiling broth (mine tasted like water) with enormous chunks of food in it. It came with mung noodles. Which was fine they're just awkward to eat. To flavor the broth there is a bar with seasonings but I really had no idea what anything was going to taste like so would rather them had just made me a broth that had flavor so I didn't have to experiment so much. Without the flavors at the bar, the hot pot would've been absolutely disgusting. It had absolutely no flavor at all. So in order for it to even taste like anything, I had to come up with some creative way to use the unknown flavors to make a dish. Once the pot boils all the ingredients start to cook. Once they're ready, all you have is a lot of boiled things that you have to eat with chop sticks or your hands. It was a mess and very difficult to get a 1/4 tomato or giant leaf of cabbage in my mouth without splattering boiling broth all over. If it had been cut into smaller pieces or had I had a knife, it wouldn't have been so bad. There were some unrecognizable items in my bowl, and I was OK with that because I knew it was a vegetarian option. One item was what seems to be a big knotted noodle, but it tasted like a rubber band. Also, don't order hot tea. The teapot either leaks all over the table or pours all over your hands. Even our server couldn't pour the water into my cup without making a mess. By the time I left, I burnt my hand with tea, had broth all over the table, and all over my body went through about 12 napkins, and didn't really eat anything because it was all way too big to bite into and actually eat. I guess I'll try to eat the leftovers later, but at least at home, I can cut them up into manageable pieces. But the broth still leaves a lot to be desired flavor wise. Different than the other hot pots I have been to, most are family style with one big pot in the center of the table. Here, each setting has a hot plate so everyone got a pot. This is nice because not everyone in the group wanted spicy broth. The others i have been to have the vegetables, dumplings, and noodles in a buffet. Here you order everything, they have hot pot meals and it looked like you could order a la cart. I don't know enough about it to order a la cart so I went with a meal. This spot is more than just hot pot.. I've come here a few times. The hot pot is good. 1 is good enough for 2-3 people. The broth is flavorful and just enough in the soup not leaving you wanting more. And the prices are pretty fair.. The other day I came here to NOT get hot pot. Basically ordered their "appetizers." At first glance they seem a little pricy on the menu but the portions are big. The pork rice is awesome. I ordered the beef shank as well. Looked small. Then you start picking at it and it's as if it regenerates.. lol It was a lot of beef. And be aware it's a cold dish. But REALLY good. Doused in chile oil and cilantro. The onion pancake is not a onion pancake.. It's an onion loaf of bread and is friggin amazing. I suggest pairing it with the beef shank and using it to soak up the chile oil. It's REALLY REALLY good. And you can't beat the shave ice.. The flavors are limited but satisfying. And it's like $3 and it's pretty big. Enough for 2 or 3. It's like a must order when you come here. This place is fantastic. They serve Taiwanese food in a clean and modern space and yay they're finally open for hot pot!! We've ordered take out several times since they first opened (right before the pandemic) and were hoping they would survive so that they could open for hot pot. So glad they've gotten such great community support. We went the first week they offered hot pot and despite it being their "soft opening" we experienced no hiccups whatsoever. The service was helpful and friendly, the food authentic and tasty and the owners were present overseeing that everything was running smoothly. Since its been so long since we've dined out as a family we ordered a lot! We started with the spicy peanuts, green scallion pancake and the teriyaki chicken. For the main the four of us shared the miso and kimchi hot pots. We were stuffed at this point, but couldn't resist the fried golden buns and a shaved ice for dessert. The scallion pancake was fluffier than what I typically expect for a scallion pancake, but it was tender and savory. The spicy peanuts were tasty - would order again. The teriyaki chicken was fairly standard, but my daughter wanted to try it. The hot pots were a bit different from what I've experienced in that everything is already cooked in the pot with add-ons to be cooked at tableside. We had the rib eye and pork and also selected mung bean noodles instead of rice. The beef was rolled fairly tightly which made it a bit harder to cook evenly as it wouldn't unroll completely in the stock. It was probably a bit more frozen than the pork as that didn't seem to have that problem. Also the seafood in the hotpots are already cooked so would recommend eating or removing anything that can't handle extra heat (shrimp, fish, etc) once the broth comes to a boil. There's a condiment station where you mix up your own dipping sauce. The quantity of food was generous and so satisfying. One hot pot could easily feed 2. The fried golden buns are little mini donuts with a dipping glaze. They came out hot and crispy. The shaved ice is more of the Hawaiian style with flavored syrup and not the fluffy Taiwanese snow, but still a refreshing end to a very satisfying meal. Can't wait to go back! read more

I was hesitant at first after reading the negative reviews but it turns out they were just ignorant and uneducated diners. I would ignore those reviews. This place was absolutely delicious! I started with the #5 spicy seaweed and tofu appetizer. Then I went with the Seafood hotpot substituted with the hot and spicy soup base. The soup was definitely on the hotter side so I would recommend going with the other options if you like to drink your soup while you eat hotpot. The service was fantastic. They were out of some things, but what we had was good. The items we tried were: Taiwan Diced Pork Rice ($8): a heaping portion of rice with pork Teriyaki Chicken ($6.50): long, thin chicken strips in teriyaki sauce Hot & Spicy Hot Pot with pork ($23.88): spicy soup, not too spicy Seafood Hot Pot with lobster tail ($28.88): good, but not much lobster and with imitation crab Shaved ice with three fruit-flavored syrups ($3): enormous mound of shaved ice, enough for ten people. Wow, so good... We had our first hot pot experience in Boston's China Town and really enjoyed it. So glad they have one equally as good here in Tucson! I like the individual servings, but honestly one serving could feed 2 people, maybe just add some extra meet or whatever. It can seem intimidating at first but really isn't. I like the bar with condiments too. I had the spicy hot pot and my husband had the curry hotpot. We both like a lot of heat so he jazzed his up with the chili sauce that you can get at the bar. Next time, I would go with beef. We also ordered extra tofu, something I love. With the already existing ingredients, the shared contents were more than we needed. The condiments bar is neat and offers many great tastes to season your food even more. We used garlic water, chili oil, soy sauce, and scallions. We also asked for hoisin sauce, which Howard, our excellent waiter, brought to us. Hoisin and scallion pancakes is a marriage made in heaven. This is a gem of a place that a group of us found during the Tucson Gem and Mineral show. First, the staff is amazing. We ordered seafood and teriyaki, In term of soup the seafood soup Epot is bland and to fishy smell, I know it's seafoods but the fishy smell is not appetizing and the soup is so bland even you add some garnishes and sauce. The seafood has shrimps, large lobster and which they remove the shell of the shrimps so it's easy to eat. The teriyaki is ok and the soup again is better than seafood but need more taste. Boba drink was great they add a lot of boba balls which we love it, I love the purple yam unfortunately they run out of supply so end up the mango witch it is ok and the passion fruit taste weard like very strong like peach taste with sourness The sevice was good like it very attentive and the place is clean and bright. My kids has peanuts allergies so they took a while since they make sure no nuts was mix with our foods which is really nice service to provide and protect their customers from farm. First timer for hotpot food. Restaurant is beautifully appointed and immaculate. Our waitress, Lisa, was very helpful and the food was amazing. My friend is a spicy food junkie, but the spicy was too much for even her. She says next time (and there will be one!) she will order the house special and add her own hot sauce. I had the seafood which was sooooo very good. It was not cheap, the check for both of us was in the $55 range, but it was worth every penny. Came to eHotPot for lunch with my husband and two little kids. Right away we were greeted warmly and were seated. The food came out crazy fast and we were busy cooking our meals within 5-10 minutes of sitting down. The waiters and (I believe) owners of the restaurant were so incredibly sweet to our 1 year old baby that was making an absolute mess out of everything. They gave our daughters lollipops and watermelon in hopes it would help with their craziness. They never made us feel bad for bringing our girls with us and our waitress was just so attentive and sweet.
