Ding tea is hands down one of the best, if not the best, boba destinations in Tucson (either location). The boba pearl texture is consistently on point!! I also very much love their crystal boba and yakult offerings. Today, I stopped in for something super light and non-caffeinated. Kaleb, was very patient, gave me some recommendations, and made a great drink that wasn't too sweet/sugary! (I got the passion fruit juice with 1/3 the syrup and no extra sweetener plus boba and crystal). I also appreciate that the drinks are reasonably priced (the larger option was under $7). Great tea and comfortable spot to hang out. Came with my daughter and her 3 kids - each of us got something different and we all tried each others' drinks. Not a bad drink amongst us! Used to love this place and came daily. Came here for crème brûlée taro and the new special matcha Thai tea. They both tasted so off. The crème brûlée I can taste the pudding edge which I never had issue before now. The matcha Thai tea has Jazmin in it. Which I wish they would have put in description. I never had a Thai tea that has Jazmin in it. The service was slow for not many people in there. They didn't even call us when order was done. If they did we didn't even hear it. Some of menu items such as the Greek yogurt section is completely discontinued. They just need to update their menu and inside a little because it seems cluttered and unprofessional with post it notes all over the place. Great place to work and have some good tea! I had tried another location during yelp elite week. I like their selection of tea. I ordered a fruit tea with slight sweetness but it still came out super sweet for my taste. So I need to remember to say no sweet next time. Yay for Ding Tea! I hadn't been in here yet but tonight we tried it and I'm so glad we did. I love how pretty it is inside. It's cozy and chic. The layout is cute. The menu is easy to follow. I ordered a large Taro smoothie with black boba and cheese foam. It was such a tasty drink! I always enjoy a good taro flavor and loved their unique flavors and topping choices. My friend and I hung out in a cozy booth and got to watch one of the Soccer cup games on tv! I love their TVs and overall design of the cups and establishment. The staff was friendly too. A super refreshing stop! Beautiful and inviting interior with seating. The person who took our order was welcoming, offered a greeting and a smile and was willing to help us with drink selections. We appreciated such fine customer service. We ordered the Mangonada. It was SO delicious! Sweet, spicy and sour mango slush with fresh golden boba. Can't wait to order it again. Also ordered a pitaya refresher that had fresh chunks of pitaya dragon fruit in it. Looks like it is a seasonal drink. It was very refreshing and beautiful to look at. With the Brulee Latte, it is an additional $1.25, and it's basically Monster Boba Latte with Creme Brulee mixed in; the top layer has sugar sprinkled on and torched. Kumquat-Lemon Iced Tea: 5/5 I always get this sweet and sour drink with lychee jelly, 25% Ice and 0%-25% Sugar, depending on how the day went. We decided on a whim to pop in here for an afternoon pick me up and it was a great experience! We got a passion fruit green tea with half the sugar and boba and it was still pretty sweet, next time I'd go down even further on the sugar level. The boba had a great texture and the tea was flavorful and the herbal notes really came through. It tasted more natural than artificial, which I appreciated. The shop was clean and we got our drink super quick. The prices felt a little steep for the quantity of tea, but overall typical/fair for boba. I'm actually so disappointed. I ordered the dragonfruit refresher and it was basically a cup of ice with a splash of flavor. I got MAYBE 6 pieces of dragonfruit cubes and the rest was just like the drinker maker fills my cup to the brim with ice like as if the workers were personally losing money if they added more anything but ice . If I'm ordering a refresher, I expect it to look at least somewhat like the picture. They were extremely stingy with the fruit and syrup, and it felt awkward even ordering, like I was inconveniencing them. What's worse is this place USED to be good, but now every time I come in (no matter the day or time), they're out of half the menu. At this point, just take those items off the menu if you never have them. For the price and the tip, the quality just isn't there anymore. Ordered an oolong milk tea, regular sized, 1/2 ice and NO sugar. When it was first made, the tea tasted like it was nothing but swimming in syrup. Told the clerk to please remake since I clearly said NO sugar. He said he would remake it, but tried to walk back on what was done by saying the creamer they used has some sweetness to it. Yes I get the creamer may have a little sweetness already, which is why I ordered it with NO sugar. What's worse is that when he remade the drink, he dumped a ton of ice into a small regular sized cup (please see the picture for detail). The drink order was for 50% ice. Again, now both the clerk and the guy making the drink in the back tried to cover up their act by saying that he has to shake it with plenty of ice. This I also get, but that has NOTHING to do with the full amount of ice he put in the cup that he was going to give me. After finishing the drink about 45 minutes later, I pried open the lid cover to take a pic. See the amount of ice remaining in there (see photo). Imagine how full it was when it was first made. If that were 50% ice, is 100% ice - which is the normal amount of ice - suppose to fill the entire cup up so that you only get a few drops of the actual tea drink? This is utterly ridiculous. The fact that they can't follow a simple 0% sugar 50% ice milk tea, and then when asked to rectify the order, there's all these excuses rather than just apologize and remake it correctly. Most certainly won't be returning to this ding tea location. I've had a much better experience in the other Tucson location on Speedway. I normally let these things slip and don't leave bad yelp reviews. But felt very strongly after this interaction to let the public know. read more
