My favorite flavors are their milk teas, especially the Hokkaido and Okinawa. Hokkaido has a little more of a nutty flavor compared to the Okinawa. And I love that you can customize sweetness and ice level. There's a lot of seating and parking at this location, the OG, compared to their Campbell location. They also offer fruit teas, smoothies, slushies, etc. and if you are interested in tattoo, just FYI it's tall, fresh taro root, not just the flavored powder so it's different and a little gritty if you're not used to it. I was turned on to NI Hao Tea during a Yelp elite event, and was so impressed that we have driven back (across town) just to grab a drink from them on several occasions. Their black sugar boba is the best boba in town, and their drinks are always wonderful. My personal recommendation, try the strawberry milk tea. Also the service is always outstanding. Every time I stop the staff is super friendly and efficient. It can get a bit busy sometimes (as all good places do) but the crew here always makes short work of clearing out the drink orders and getting everyone served. I've been going to Ni Hao Tea ever since their soft launch a couple years ago. From fresh Taro to Ceremonial grade matcha to the wide assortment of teas, you simply can't go wrong. Normally I'm not a fan of matcha or boba. But they do it right. Ni Hao is the only place I'll order either. The boba is always fresh and you choose from honey and crystal boba. Before and throughout the pandemic, the customer service here continues to be exceptional while serving delicious, customizable drinks. I've tried a lot their drinks since my last review about the Matcha Latte and Jasmine Tea with Cheese Foam. I've had their Thai Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, Lychee Black/Green Tea, Coconut Milk Tea, Lychee Smoothie, and their new Strawberry Milk Tea. My new favorite right now is their Brown Sugar Milk TEA with Brown Sugar Boba. I'm glad they decided to add this to their menu because I liked their Brown Sugar Milk but really wished it had tea! Also, they now have SEALED lids! Yaaaas. I hope Ni Hao Tea continues to add more new, creative drinks to their menu. I would love to see a Strawberry Matcha Latte on their menu! Not the friendliest staff nor is this the most reasonable buy in town. The 24oz large costs over $6.50 if you add Boba (they always cost extra)! By comparison, the (larger) large at Bing is just over $7 but a much better value ... and always friendlier staff. We have come here separately and together because it's one of the few on the "east-half" of Tucson and we always get the same, droll, blank, robotic effort from the cashiers (different ones). Word to the wise, the "milk" tea (the most popular item at any Boba cafe) is never made from actual milk. This is true of all Boba cafes. If you request coconut or almond or soy, it is simply added to the mix for an extra $ (i.e., it's not instead of the mix). Also, most Boba restaurants order their powder mixes from a handful of the same vendors. These mixes are non-dairy and extremely high sugar / high calorie. That's a bummer because I do love my boba tea! read more

After looking over the menu board, we ended up getting: Large Almond Milk Tea, $4.95 + egg pudding, $0.50 prior to tax- I ordered this drink to be made with 25% sweetener and no ice. I was rather disappointed with this drink because I could tell immediately after my first sip that this tea was made with powder. How did I know? It was gritty. With each sip, especially towards the bottom, it was gritty with some large chunks of powder. The pudding itself tasted fine but with the gritty powder all over my mouth, it destroyed my taste buds. Large Mango Milk Tea, $4.95 + aloe jelly, $0.50 prior to tax- My husband opted to have his drink made with 50% sweetener and no ice as well. And yep, just like my drink, his drink was also gritty. You can actually see the powder on the sides of the cup. My husband thought his drink was a little too sweet and I thought so to and figured it would have been better at 25% sweetness. ---------------------------- (Total- $10.76 after tax and Yelp check in deal) Service was quite friendly when we made our order at the register. This is the best boba spot I have been to in Tucson. Being from California, I was worried no boba spot in Tucson would satisfy my cravings, but I am glad this place exists. All the milk teas are made with a non dairy creamer or can be made with lactose free milk. They also have quite a few slushier/smoothie options. I tried the pina colada smoothie with lychee jelly. It was very good! I got 50% sugar but I should have gotten 75% sugar because I wanted it to be a little bit sweeter. Happy that we saw Ni Hao Tea as part of the Yelp Sweet 16 celebrations because this definitely fixed our craving for boba! In current COVID times, they are only doing curbside pickup - the online ordering process is easy; they send you a text when the order is ready and bring it to your car after you call on arrival. It felt safe, and the staff was so nice! Now to the boba: you can choose sweetness level (based on percentage), ice level, and toppings which are an additional $0.25-$1.50 depending on type and amount. We opted for the "Specialty" drinks: taro smoothie and taro milk tea. Both were made with freshly steamed taro and included chunks of the taro which added some texture to the drink and complemented the creaminess of the smoothie. It was my first time to have brown sugar and honey boba, and it was so delicious - the boba was soft and just the right amount of chewy.
