Best crepes I've ever had!!! The goat cheese and veggie one was heavenly. Excellent side salad too that I would recommend ordering as a starter or main course! There were unique and varied options on the menu, I'll most definitely have to go back and try more things. Friendly staff and service too. Outstanding service and food! My husband and I just returned from Eggspectation. Very busy as most places are on a Sunday at noon. Despite this, we were seated in minutes. Our hostess and the entire staff was smiling, courteous and above and beyond attentive. Our meals came out quickly and everything was fresh and delicious. I had the new southwest sunrise omelette. There werejust handful of people in the restaurant this morning , but it just seemed as though the food took an extra long time, also with our waitress it took long to for refill my coffee after the initial cup . After receiving the food, the omelette was cold. The potatoes were cold and stale. The multi grain bread toast was as well. I sent the order back. The waitress did come back to ask me if I wanted to have the toppings on the side of omelette or if I indeed wanted to have the sour , avocado and pico on top . She was feeling the cold avocado, sour cream, and pico de gallo would have made the omelette cold for my taste . Which I don't agree with. For me, when a company puts a new item on the menu, they've actually done tastings and analyzed things, so those toppings would not have made it cold. They only compliment the item for the most part . But if it sits around, it gets cold. They did bring me another omelette out, but I feel what they did with the initial lyonnaise potatoes from the returned was put them in hot grease to make them hot , because they were hot but very greasy this time . The egg omelette was this time hot but smaller than the initial one and the toast was still cold. After I tasted the food I of course I was more disappointed than before , so I didn't eat it, but they still charged me $18 plus $3 for coffee . And for the manager they never came over to see how things were . Had a terrible dining and food experience. I'll never go to this place again. I too wish these restaurants would stop complaining about the volume of customer or the quality of customer but with the higher prices , smaller portions and attitude of waitstaff and managers for the most part . They will continue to go out of business or get that customer that don't tip , curse out the staff and trash the restaurant. My option . read more

Let me preface by saying my family likes Eggspectation and has been visiting the Columbia and Owings Mills locations at least twice a year for the past 10 years. We went to this new location for brunch on Saturday, Feb 11th party of 4. Service was friendly but slow. Servers needed to come by the table more often to check on beverages and food status. We had issues getting refills on lattes and cappuccinos, as well as water. Food did not arrive together. Omelettes were served cold, Chesapeake crepe ($30) arrived after everyone else finished eating and was bland. Best items were the French toast flambé we ordered as an appetizer and breakfast poutine - but even that was too rich. I'm not going back soon. I think the restaurant needed a soft opening before the public opening and has some food service issues to be worked out. We will try a again in a month or so. read more

Honestly the service wasn't the best at first but the 2 managers (Rich & Chris) made the visit worth it! Before speaking with them I said I wouldn't come back but you can tell they take their craft & jobs very serious. Very personable, understanding & nice! Today, we had our annual office holiday brunch. I called the day before to let the restaurant know how many people were coming and if they could accommodate us. I left a voicemail and the GM, Christopher, promptly returned my call and left me a wonderful voicemail. I called him back and he was so kind and enthusiastic about our plans. His team not only set us up on the patio, but they also even decorated our table with red and green table clothes. We had a GREAT time, and the food was EXCELLENT! Our waitress was Olivia and just like Christopher she was the best. She was wonderful and kept our drinks refreshed, did our holiday photo shoot, and gave us a few to go cups of sweet tea! We came in jolly and left jollier! No alcohol consumed . We will be back soon and definitely back for the HOLIDAYS! Don't hesitate, GO, this Eggspectation location is infectious! read more

First time at this establishment since it changed from Poulet. Came around noon on Saturday 4/1/23. It was a fairly busy waiting area and resturant overall. Loved the look, decor and overall ambiance! Due to the slight wait I decided to take a seat at the bar on the back deck area, in the corner next to the window. My space had clearly indicated someone there before me by the crumbs and cup rings so I fully expected the bartender to eventually wipe it and provide a menu upon seeing me. Not the case! Only once a couple sat beside me did the bartender wipe my space (barely) after clearing the dirty dishes next to me in front of the couple's space. The bartender was slow to acknowledge and respond in general and it was clear she was annoyed and didn't want to be there by her general negative attitude. She was also complaining about the kitchen and other servers and just in general under her breath but it could still be heard by myself and other nearby bar patrons, including the couple next to me. So it made anyone that needed to actually ask for something uncomfortable like you were "bothering" her. The couple next to me said the same, so none of us wanted to rock the boat. It took nearly 15 mins to even order my initial coffee. I then had to ask for sweet & low, creamer, stirrer, and silverware. And just as soon as I asked for that or anything for that matter, she would forget it that quick. I finally got to place my order and then realized I had been given the 'evening' not "day" menu. Though I only realized this when the couple next to me placed their order and I over heard a selection I didn't see on my menu. I ended up ordering the chicken & waffles which came out in reasonable amount of time (by another wait staff) and looked great, though there was no butter or syrup. I politly asked for it, then waited and waited till after about 10 mins I finally got up and grabbed syrup off another table. Finally the bartender remembered to bring the syrup though by that time the food was half eaten and room temperature. She never once asked how my meal was or if there was anything I needed, a coffee refill, etc even once the bar rush was gone. She did however at one point apologize, somewhat....for her shortness, etc but then started complaining again about her fellow staff, in general. I feel it's just bad waitstaff edicate & unprofessional to do any complaining in front of patrons in any service industry, having worked in it myself for many years. Overall, it's the staff that made my experience poor not the food or the establishment in general. They just seemed clueless and unengaged from the first encounter with the hostess. They mostly moved at a slow, mozy kind of pace with no sense of urgency. There was also lot of "outside loud voice" between staff which is just unplesant in general. I should also mention I could hear one or two patrons dropping the "f" bomb which you wouldn't expect you'd be subject to in an establishment especially with these $$ prices or in this area of town. Overall, I felt more like I was at an IHOP at 2 am off 95 than a high end bistro at high noon on a Saturday in Timonium. But to be fair, not all staff I witnessed was so disengaged, or loud, etc...but most I observed just did NOT seem properly trained in the service industry. Management definitely needs to reconsider how they vet thier staff and take 'proven' experience and a pleasant attitude into consideration before hiring. I do hope this establishment stays in our part of town and is successful, but they need to do a full staff revamp if they hope to maintain respectible clientele and repeat customers. I wish I could have given a better initial review but this was 'my' experience. French onion soup was mostly broth bread and cheese on top barely melted burger bun was stale low quality beef not even a close resemblance of a Caesar salad old lettuce pepper Parmesan dressing not Caesar didn't touch it fries were refried not fresh at all. We travel to this area a few times a year to visit family. We have been to this restaurant many times and each time it is such a nice place to sit have great food and enjoy being around the people who work there. Everything there was just perfect. The small children had what they wanted at and all of the adults found something that his the spot. The service was great. The Restaurant itself is neat, clean and spacious. Nothing is out of place and everyone I saw working seemd to be doing it with a smile. Before leaving I managed to talk to the Operations Leader Chris and let him know it was a great place. What a night. we hosted a birthday party in the reserved covered deck area and loved it! very family friendly, food was delicious as always, and the staff is what made it. so helpful in helping me set up balloons and flowers before the party. First try did NOT meet my EGGspectations !! First of all how do you burn an omelette after requesting it be cooked soft and light??? Both were dry. Not to mention the whole meal took forever but we enjoyed beverages and conversation until it arrived. The steak with eggs was over cooked Actually the cranberry mimosa and toast were the best part of the experience. Our waiter was nice but not attentive never came back to refill drinks we didn't have enough silverware to start and we requested jelly never got it. The place is huge well decorated and lots of potential. Hopefully it will last longer than predecessors but not going like this. I hesitated going to any Eggspectation restaurants for years. When I travel for work most had a 3 +/- rating on Yelp. And I have friends that tried the local one in Owings Mills, and reported mediocre or bad meals with poor service. But we started hearing that the Timonuim location was much better than other locations, and decided to give it a try. We went late morning on a weekday, so crowds were not an issue. We were greeted by a very friendly server (SHOUT OUT TO JAKE!!!), and he walked us through the menu, answering all of our questions. While I do think $17 is a bit pricey for an omelet, potatoes and toast, it was well worth it. The omelet was packed with quality ingredients, the potatoes were delicious as was the toast and Jam. Breakfast is served all day, so I am tempted to go for lunch or dinner and try their other food while my wife will still get breakfast - her favorite meal read more

But the manager consistently avoided us and why do we get our appetizers when the full meal comes to us an hour after being ordered? And we waved to the manager and he looked at us and walked away.. not mad at the waiters/waitresses? But managers are supposed to pick up the slack and all I see was him slacking off instead. I'm going to give this location 3 stars today.. this was our third time visiting this location. Our first two times were great! After walking in, I felt like I was in a staring contest with the greeter who clearly did not speak English. Someone else came up and she took us to a table. We sat there for 15 minutes before being greeted by the server and it took another 20 minutes before we received our drinks. After 45 minutes of walking in, we received our breakfast and the eggs and grits were iCE cold. The manager on duty was nice and he did correct it and personally brought us out hot grits and eggs. This was the first time our experience wasn't as great. We noticed other patrons that was experiencing the same issues. I'm going to chalk this one up as they were unusually busy due to the fair being in town. We will give them another shot! read more

We've now eaten here 2x's. In both cases, the food was pretty good but the service poor. The staff are friendly enough. However, they don't seem very well trained and there didn't seem like there was any management around. Nobody came to our table for an extended period, the food took forever to come out, we constantly had to find someone to get more coffee, and in both experiences they let finished dirty plates sit on our table. Seems like some of this is an easy fix. The servers just didn't seem to understand basic serving procedures and Id blame that more on management. My friend and I came here for brunch on Saturday. We ordered the cranberry mimosa which were good. My friend ordered the southwest omelet which she said was good. However when she ordered the waiter said it came with either toast, English muffin or something else. She chose the English muffin and then she was up charged for it. Not cool. I ordered the classic Benedict which fell very flat. It was basically a piece of deli ham on an English muffin with watery poached egg and hollandaise sauce which was flavorless. This restaurant needs corporate to come in and straighten this place out. My last 2 visits have been very bad. Your menu and concept are good and interesting , but your execution stinks. My motto, 2 times and you are out! My last visit I went simple in my choice...2 scrambled eggs, bacon, and 2 buttermilk pancakes. Simple right? Oh no...what looked like 1 scrambled egg because of its wee wee teeny tiny portion size came out chopped to fine bits, cold, and crunchy...oh and the egg was covered in powdered sugar which must have been over flow from the tons of powdered sugar sloppily doused on my pancakes. The 1.5 pieces of bacon (could you spare it?)...also teeny in portion was cold. The buttermilk pancakes were cold, doused in an overabundance of powdered sugar (no butter provided, btw) , and smelled and tasted like lemon. I did not order lemon pancakes. The presentation on the plate was a mess, too. A diner breakfast would have been far better...in fact, my college mess hall had a better breakfast. You guys are not cheap and the last time I came you messed up my omelette straight off a menu item choice that you left out all but 2 ingredients...with the waiter telling me they ran out of those ingredients when I questioned it once I went to eat it. Oh...and you also removed my 2 favorite items recently off your menu. I rarely complain, but you are top dollar in pricing, have a gourmet style breakfast menu, a beautiful restaurant inside...but your food sucks, your customer service and presentation sucks, your prices suck, your wait staff hang at the bar laughing and talking when your restaurant is crowded on a Sunday prime brunch time, water glasses remain empty, dirty un-bused tables all over, and your kitchen needs some lessons. Your Howard County location blows Timonium away. And corporate needs to come in a whip everything about this location in to shape.
