This is my 3rd time here. Food is good, but here are the consistent issues I've seen every time. The service is super slow. We waited at least 30-45 min for breakfast food( our drinks took 20min). The wait staff is nice but they always seem short handed. Not the waiter's fault so I never blame them but they need to be managed better. The are VERY expensive. My husband and I spent $45 on breakfast and all we got was waffles, French toast and potatoes (we had a drink each too). We ordered bacon but never got it and we couldn't wait any longer. Breakfast is the fastest, easiest and cheapest meal so this seemed outrageous to us. The restaurant is nice but the food is basic so the upscale prices are hard to understand. Everything is a la carte and if you want extra syrup it's $2. The same meals at Cracker Barrel would be $10/ea (and frankly would probably be the same quality if not better). Lastly, the food is always like warm, never hot. This seems to be a consistent complaint based on other reviews. If I wait 45 min for breakfast and pay dinner prices I at least expect it to be hot. My family had high hopes for this restaurant as on several occassions we had tried to get a table but the wait times were crazy long. The location does not take reservations. Today we were able to get a seat in 10 minutes and ate at eggspectations for the first time. We ordered our food, got our starters right away... then nothing.... An hour and 1/2 later the manager stopped by to appologize. And 2 hours and15 minutes from ordering we got our food. Breakfast tacos were good, poutine was steaming hot and tasty, the Frittata was cold and rubbery, the eggspectation burger was dry and nothing special. This place is very over priced with an appealing menu for just okay (if there) food. I hope the wait time was an unusual mishap, but certainly would have expected the meal for atleast half price. The service was fast but gave us enough time to look at the menu as there is a lot of items to choose from. I had the French toast flambé and my wife had the Chesapeake crepe. Both we're delicious. The French toast was thick slices but fluffy when you cut into it. The crepe had just enough lump crabmeat but not too much to over power the meal. My sons had the chocolate chip pancakes from the kids menu. The pancakes weren't anything special to look at but the kids ate them up. I tried some and it was a really good pancake despite the look. Full of chocolate chips and marshmallows. We will definitely be going back. Oh if you're in the mood the Bloody Mary was killer! Only issue which wasn't a huge deal was a coffee refill. My first time here and I'm beyond impressed. The food came out perfect. I hade the eggtravaganza and everything was tasty! My boyfriend had the same and he's not easily impressed but we have both agreed this is our new brunch spot. We shared the shrimp and grits which are some of the best grits I've had on the east coast. I also had strawberry mimosas which are made with fresh juice. After coming to this restaurant twice, I'm happy to say I'm for sure a fan. I've been once with my mom & another time with my husband and MIL. The Chicken & Waffle are delicious with super juicy HUGE chunks of chicken and a giant waffle that's fluffy yet not super dense. The Lemon Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes are stacked high and filled with lemon ricotta cheese and topped off with a nice and gooey blueberry compote. Surprisingly it wasn't over the top sweet which is always refreshing when you don't really want a full on dessert for breakfast. Also I have to say, in most restaurants when you get a breakfast that comes with eggs, meat, potatoes and either 2 pancakes or french toast, generally the pancakes are HUGE and I always regret ordering so much. Here they are the perfect size. Not too small but not giant either. I will say, they seem to have so many big tables that seat 6 or 8 but when you only have 2 tops coming in it seems like such a waste of space. There also seems to be so many empty areas where at least a few small tables could fit. When I went in the 2nd time, they had two 6 top tables pushed together for a group of 7. That seems like SUCH a waste especially when you're quoting people 60 minutes. Service is okay. The servers are clearly new and still getting used to things but that's to be expected in a new restaurant. Looking forward to going back and trying more things! read more

I am hopeful that this review will improve since this location just recently opened this week and it's the first brunch we are having here. I didn't check Yelp but I should have so that we could have joined the waiting list before coming over (we live less than 10 min away) and had to wait for 40 minutes. We returned to the car to wait in the air conditioning since there really isn't a lot of seating for waiting available. It's very bright, modern and sleek ambience here which is pleasing to the eye and should give anyone good vibes. I like that! After being seated our server came over fairly promptly and she was nice so that is always a plus. As an avid bruncher I appreciate the variety of mimosas and I tried the Grand Mimosa... yummy!!! My daughter enjoyed her smoothie which there are also a variety of them and juices. Now after we ordered we had a pretty long wait but considering it's pretty much their opening weekend I am not complaining about it as it's kind of expected; being one who dines out often I understand this. But it's disappointing when my child says it wasn't worth the wait. She got the s'mores French toast which was a bit too soggy in the center; though great presentation. I ordered the French toast flambe and again the center was too soggy. I couldn't make up my mind and I was hungry so I also ordered The All American which I loved everything except for the eggs. I ordered scrambled eggs with cheese which originally didn't come out with cheese as requested. They weren't truly scrambled and hardly had any cheese. Again, I am going to chalk it up to opening week stumbles on their first busy Sunday brunch and give it another try because it certainly has great potential!!! Oh and the ham that came with The All American I absolutely loved it... best part of the meal honestly! I think I'm in love. I've been in the Delaware area for several years and visiting Maryland for a few weeks. After much research for the kind of food I want to eat from a restaurant, I found Eggspectation. The food is great! I had a veggie omelette and smoked salmon on the side. Woo chile! I also had two different kinds of lattes. They're good, but I'm looking for something that I'll flip for. (That's me and not them.) The service is top notch! The scenery is very cute & a nice floor space so you don't have tables that are cramped. My first time here I got a "mexican" breakfast poutine which included sausage gravy and sour cream, sunny side up egg and hollandaise (why?). I had a feeling this would be a messy mix of flavors so I asked for the hollandaise in a separate cup. What I got was a tiny 6" skillet with like 9 tater tots swimming in a soup of sauce and cream. There weren't even cheese curds just melted cheese. It was so soggy and gross but I was starving. And it was $15?! I've been here twice now. The food is good althoug it is quite expensive considering what you get for what you pay. The worst part about this place is the super slow service and wait times. Yes, Sundays are expected to be worse, but things could still be improved. I arrived today with a party of 3x and put a name on the waitlist at 11.41am. We were told a 45-60 minute wait. We were sat at 12.50pm. After being seated, we weren't greeted for about 5 minutes. Orders were put in almost right away. Our food came out at 1.25pm. Service was mostly attentive but could have been better. Looking around the restaurant, most very few tables were actually eating. Most were waiting on food. Even while a long wait continued, the larger high table remained open. I'm not sure if it is kept just for large parties, but the fact that it isn't used to share with parties is 2-3 is beyond me unless the wait is a result of the kitchen not being able to keep up. Seems to me that breakfast / brunch items are usually fairly quick things to make at most brunch restaurants. If food is going to take 30 minutes, some sort of complimentary table snack like bread would be nice. Also, given the kitchen's difficulty keeping up, perhaps consider a different brunch menu or specials that encourage easier/faster to make items.
