Looked for an affordable place that served good food to meet some friends. The prices here were reasonable and the food did not disappoint! I really liked the mac and cheese with blackened shrimp. Also the beans that came with the chicken were really good as well. I've always heard about this place and finally tried it out. I thought the mad Mac bites were disappointing. What I truly enjoyed was their jerk chicken. It was well marinated but slightly overcooked. It would have been nice if it came with mashed potatoes instead of baked beans... or if they had an option to sub out the baked beans. Service That Slays: The team was on fire--checking in constantly without hovering, keeping our drinks coming. My wife's a vegetarian, and when they were out of Beyond patties, a gentleman swooped in with a genius swap: plant-based chicken tenders. She was hooked; it was a total game-changer. Food That Steals the Show: I came for the Gaucho Burger but caved to peer pressure and added the Walkabout Chicken Rolls--best decision ever. Wife went for the Truffled Smash Burger (subbed with those tenders), and we both upgraded to fries over chips. The flavors? Insane. First he apologized it took home a while to get to us (it really didn't, but appreciated the sentiment) It's U Delaware move in weekend, so everything is crowded. All good. Party of 4, we had a little of everything. And everything was delicious!!! The loaded potato pockets, Mexican street corn and pretzel sticks were all amazing! Potato pockets are like little empanadas stuffed with creamy mashed potatoes and bacon. Perfectly crisped!! Mexican street corn you get 3 half ears, each on a stick. The crema is thick and so flavorful! Pretzels are fluffy inside, crispy outside and nice size! With all those apps I got a nice looking small sales with grilled chicken. I can't imagine how big the large one might have been. Husband got the Phily Mac and it looked amazing! He loved it. Girls got the tequila honey lime chicken tacos. They loved them too. Went to mad Mac's to watch the Phillies opening game. Not many tables available so had to sit at a large shared table. As the game went on more people came in and sat at the same table. Constantly had to ask for someone to send the waitress over because our drinks were empty. Then the bill comes out and she forced a 18% large table gratuity on us when we were sitting at a large shared table with people we didn't know. Talk about taking advantage of the situation. Randomly ended up meeting some friends here and had the most mediocre experience. This is an older bar with a ton of regulars. Our server seemed to have cared less about our table and got nearly everything I ordered wrong except for 1 drink. I have no idea how the food was because mine came out wrong so I didn't eat it. I didn't bother to complain because she had already made 2 mistakes before this. (brought out the wrong drink to someone else at my table and forgotten drinks all together.) Really enjoyed the Mac and cheese from Mad-Macs. Every time I've driven by this place it's always packed and I've only heard great things about it, and the recommendations did not disappoint. We tried out both the Lasagna Mac and 6-cheese Mac and both were great. They were very generous with the cheese and the size of the meal was also huge, so perfect for a big meal or saving some for later. There was also a lot of variety on the menu that I'll have to go back and try at a later time. In general, happy I finally got to give it a try. Definitely recommend! read more

I had to check out a place that is known for their Mac and cheese. The parking lot was pretty crowded when I arrived. Mad Mac's is a family friendly pub and serves creative Mac and cheese dishes. I ordered the 6 cheese Mac, wings and deep fried brownies. The Mac and cheese was just okay, did not think it was worth the price. Perhaps the other Mac and cheese flavors are better. We tried this place for lunch on a Sunday. The front of the house staff was amazing! Great hosting, service and very kind, friendly and helpful! Decor on dining side was fun. Unique lighting, original art, upholstery etc. clean restrooms. The food however... wings overcooked and zero flavor, French Dip bread was soggy, Reuben unimpressive. Fries were good. Philly cheesesteak appetizer was pretty good. Bloody Mary was good. Kids loved the waffles. Chili was yuck! Steak salad was good. My biggest complaint was the QR code menu. The wifi would NOT work even with staff help. I couldn't look at a menu for over 10 minutes. Ridiculous. Our family doesn't allow phones at the table so this was especially frustrating to us. If you're looking for a good place for hearty food, this is your place! My son heard about Madmacs so we headed there to check it out. It has a local bar feel, and everyone was very welcoming. The 4 stars is only because I was sitting in a divot on the bench seat and there were no paper menus. My husband is QR code challenged. Didn't matter where I moved to- the seat needed new padding. Our server, Lexie, was very personable and helpful. She brought him an iPad mini with the menu set up for him to review. We started with the potstickers and Walkabout rolls. Both were good but I really like the Walkabout rolls ( sorry- no pictures of these). I had the wedge salad - oh so delicious! Ate the whole thing! My husband had the fried signature wings with the honey chipotle sauce. He really enjoyed them as well as the crispy fries. My son struggled to narrow down the choice of Mac n cheese- lots of options! He finally selected the Cajun shrimp and crab Mac. He loved it but was unable to finish it. It's lovely and rich- very filling! Leftovers for the college student. He also ordered the parm truffle fries. They were really good ( of course I had to taste them!) We were excited for this place since we had a couple of mac and cheese lovers in the group. Service was friendly and Mia was very responsive. One of us ordered a veggie burger advertised as a "truffle smash". Unfortunately, there wasn't any actual truffle. When we asked for more truffle aioli, which is what we presumed would be the flavor behind the truffle. We were then told the mushrooms (which I think were canned) were just sautéed in truffle oil but it's expensive so it's not a strong flavor. ?!?! Usually when something has truffle you can smell it across the table. To their credit a manager came out and offered another sauce which helped a little. The mac and cheeses were very good. The thanksgiving gobbler was good but had small pieces of chopped turkey and I was expecting something closer to sliced turkey. The cranberry was a bit overwhelming in the dish. Typical sports bar vibes. Drinks were good and the food was presented nicely, but the taste was quite average. Wings tasted like normal bar wings and the Parmesan truffle fries tasted like I was slapped with Parmesan with a whisper of truffle afterwards. The Mac and cheese was the best of what we ordered. Service was great! We sat outside and they were accommodating with where we wanted to sit and they turned on the heat lamps for us. They came outside regularly to check up on us even though we were the only ones out there. What we ordered: Caprese chicken sandwich Signature baked wings (spicy garlic buffalo flavor) Flank steak salad Everything we ordered was excellent - cooked well and flavorful. I love steak salads so I've had them at countless places - this one was one of the best I've had! The steak was flavored well and the salad tasted fresh. My husband said his sandwich was great and the flavors blended together really well. The wings were also tasty and moist. Definitely will stop by again when we have our next drive up there so we can try one of their mac+cheeses! Even though we didn't eat inside, I'll note that the decor was kinda cool - big TVs, greenery, long tables, nice lighting. Deducting one star because the service could have been a little better. They forgot to give me dressing for my salad. When I went back inside to ask them for it, a waitress said she'd get it and then forgot. Pros: Seating was fast. Ordered the happy hour smash burger. It wasn't the best display, but it was good. No fries or sides came with it. Waitress was nice. Cons: After saying it was my first visit, I asked if they had lemonade. I was offered regular iron strawberry. I got the strawberry and it was pretty good. I asked if they did refills and received a second glass. When I finally got my bill, I was charged just shy of $10 for drinks. Apparently, there are no free refills and strawberry lemonade costs extra since the bar makes it. I advised that she never told me and got an oh well attitude. I left the refill untouched and asked for it to be removed. After a long wait, it was. There were only two other tables and service was extremely slow. I paid with cash as others said they charge a credit card fee. I was never advised that and saw no notices in the restaurant or on the menu of a fee. read more

My friend and I stopped here for lunch. We are local but had never had been into eat. They have an inside dining room as well as an outside dining section. Do be aware that most of the seating inside and out was high tables and stools. This was a bit problematic due being short people but we made do. They have Pepsi products to drink which we prefer over Coke so that was nice. I ordered the French Dip and Fries and she had a burger and Mac n cheese. I've had a lot of French Dip sandwiches through the years and this was the first time I've gotten one so rare it stained the roll pink. Being a well done food person this was a complete turnoff for the meal. I wish someone had mentioned this in a previous review or in the description of the sandwich. If you are like me, choose something else to eat. The fries were fine. In order to see the desserts you need to use a QR code. The dessert menu doesn't have descriptions and our server was unable to provide any details. We skipped dessert there and went elsewhere. While we won't be returning, I wouldn't say it was a bad place to go. There are just other options with more comfortable seating which have food more inline with our preferences. read more

Found a new place, and I suppose a special has a signature Mac and cheese menu 6 extensive, and it's a sports bar, but the Mac and cheese that I tried today was supposed to be in the Buffalo chicken, Mac and cheese. They forgot to put the blue cheese crumbles on tap, but all in all it was good. I have to say the food presentation was great. Even though I got it to go I will have to go back and try something else again. It's a sports bar, so the ambience is justypically sports, but the upside is. Is they have 2 sides of barrier where you can go, sit and watch TV's in the restaurant area. It looks like it's on a corner and you won't tell what it is because it just has AM curse of M and Vanessa, but I'll definitely want to go back and give this a try to make sure that I'm just madisappointment in what I had today. I was big on mad Mac's before but things have change and not for the best. My coworkers and I often meet there for drinks at least once a week. My family and I like going there for dinner. Went there yesterday with the family for dinner. We were seated in the back area because the front was full. Once seated, our waitress came over to get our drink orders. I had a beer, my son gave soda and my wife had colored water ! ( mixed drink that was so diluted ) ! After the drinks, she took our food orders. We sat there for over 45 mins !!!!we saw our waitress walk by a couple of times by couldn't get her attention to tell her about my wife's watered down drink full of ice ! There were others there and overheard several others talk about how long they've been there ( over an hour ) and still haven't received their food orders. Finally, we just could wait anymore and my wife finally tracked the waitress or hostess down and ask for our bill. Over 45 mins and all I had was 1 beers which I drank in 5 mins after being seated and that was about it. Don't see us going back there again. Totally disappointed on the service and lack of communications !! read more

I couldn't help but to check out a place that is known for macaroni and cheese. Nothing more comforting than comfort food on a gloomy rainy day! I ordered in and had food delivered. I ordered the mini 6 cheese Mac and cheese and a small Caesar salad. I added chicken to the salad as well. Honestly, I thought the Mac and cheese was going to be smaller than the salad. Man, was I extremely wrong! I only came to this conclusion because mini is smaller than small right? Anyways, on to the food! The salad. It was nothing crazy. I am glad I added the chicken. The dressing looked like it was homemade. A little looser than what I would like a dressing but, it wasn't bad. Chicken was cooked nicely and not dried out. I wish it had more cheese, but hey. I didn't order from here for the salad. It just assisted the dish lol. This macaroni and cheese though....I thoroughly enjoyed. They gave the option of regular pasta, wheat or gluten free. The 6 cheese macaroni consists of American, white cheddar (aged), Jack, Fontina, Gruyere, and smoked Gouda cheese. When I first seen it I was hesitant because it is so much cheese! Also, there is no such thing as TOO MUCH CHEESE! When I tell you the cheeses were perfectly balanced? It was melted all nice and flowed into the nooks and crannies.....drooling. Here is the crazy part, this was it being delivered! I can imagine getting this brought to my table. It was hot and the pull apart was nice! There is nothing like loading up your fork and seeing the string of cheesy goodness that follows! Did I mention that this is was a mini size I ordered?! Please check the photo. The salad is a small and the macaroni is a mini. How?!?! Just how?! I'm not mad. Let's call it a happy mistake or a surprising size. So I'm gonna get the bad out of the way first: when we walked in the hostess originally told us it was going to be about 15-20 minute wait. I came with a group of 4 people and we were all okay with waiting. After 2 minutes have passed, the hostess tells us that we can go to a table to sit and get some drinks. I thought to myself "wow that was quick. Awesome!" We do that and then the manager comes up all like " I'm the manager here so forget what the hostess told you. We have people waiting before you, so you can't sit here" not only was it extremely awkward but the manager could've been nicer about it and not so cocky about being "the manager". As we went back to the front of the restaurant , the manager kept butting into our conversation and overall just came off a little rude to us. It's not our faults that the hostess misinformed us on something. That's why I took off a star. But anyways, let's talk about the positive: our waitress was very sweet and gave us recommendations. We ordered the chicken Parmesan bites as an appetizer and they were AMAZING! The best thing we ate at Mad Macs and one of the best appetizers I've had. I ordered the thin mint adult shake and my mom got the s'mores one. Both were delicious but they do fill you up! Next up is the Mac and cheese and it was a to die for! The Buffalo Mac and cheese is what I got. It was the perfect amount of spice and the chicken and breadcrumbs were a great touch! The only thing I was upset about was that I asked for blue cheese crumbles on top and didn't get any. My mom got the 6 cheese Mac and cheese which was also terrific. The food here is a 10/10, Mad Macs has great atmosphere, the waiters seem nice, and I really like that they put out 13 beers for those who lost their lives in Afghanistan. 3 words : CHICKEN PARM BITES !!! Literally perfection . Dare I say , the chicken might be better than chick-fil-a . Pair it with the truffle fries and now it's a party . The Cobb salad was delicious as well ! That homemade blue cheese hit different - add avocado cause everything is better with avocados . Tried the garlic parm wings , fried well but no flavor so could've did without them . Ordered the Mac bites and sent them right back . Don't waste your time on them , respectfully . Ordered the Pomegranate Margarita - it was good . Would've been better if it didn't take forever to order or get checked on or wait for a check . We sat outside and it wasn't so hot we needed the fans on but they turned the fans on without asking if that's what we wanted - kinda weird and unwanted . The menu set up is an eye sore ! Went on a saturday night with a friend. it was so noisy. they had all 21 tvs in there blasting some football & basketball games, & there were several drunk(?) patrons screaming. Ive been there a couple yrs ago, it was calmer and quieter, they changed their whole format. they only have 2 seat tables in the bar areas. very loud. However the food was good, had the chicken parm bites, & cajun shrimp mac & cheese, which was great. my friend had the tuscan alfredo mac & cheese, he said it was just ok. Prices arent cheap, about $15-22 for the mac&cheese dishes. What was also annoying was they added a 3.5% "FL cc pmt" tax onto our bill, but we're in delaware....my card isnt from Florida either. tried to ask the waitress but she was hiding.
