With all our vendors booked, finding another venue with the date available was almost impossible. So LUCKY we found Anthony Wayne House and Jeffrey Miller Catering! Absolutely no regrets throwing away that 1st deposit because our experience at Anthony Wayne House was fantastic! They worked with us in every way possible to make the day special. The location is gorgeous. Our coordinator Heather was always responsive and patient with our million questions. The Penrose Suite was perfect for our makeup & hair stylists to prepare our girls for the wedding. The Airstream Trailer was a really fun spot for the guys to hang & do a little putting on the green before the wedding, and the venue pictures don't do it justice. The weather drizzled off & on all day, but at the last minute it cleared and the staff rushed to prep the pergola area so we could have the beautiful outdoor ceremony we had envisioned. Due to the unpredictable weather, cocktail hour was set up inside. Because the weather cleared, the staff was very flexible and set up tables outside - so cocktail hour was held both inside & out. And the food! It was awesome. Everyone raved about it and the beautiful location. Even the wedding cake was absolutely delicious! Changing our venue to Anthony Wayne was the best decision we made. The outdoor wedding space was surrounded by woods and had a pergola in the front. The area was surrounded by historic buildings. There was enough room for an outdoor cocktail hour, with some high-top tables and a few normal tables as well. The reception space was an all-weather tent of sorts, with fans, stringed lights, and solid structure that has plastic walls that could be connected in the case of a storm. There was also a fire pit area, which was really nice. The couple chose to make this a smoking/cigar celebratory area, which worked really well. The cocktail hour was very good. Drinks were tasty and strong, and the hors d'oeuvres (many hot butlered plus a meat, cheese, bread, and vegetable table) were varied and delicious. The main course and desserts were very good as well- not standard bland wedding fare. Your place card corresponded to the dinner choice, so at the bottom of my place card was an outline of a carrot to denote that I had ordered the vegetarian entree option. This was an interesting idea (so that the waiters wouldn't have to double-check and take order), but the waiters did seem to have a hard time serving and looking to see what each person ordered and distributing appropriately. Overall, this venue was beautiful. It is for someone who wants to have an outdoors-y wedding and reception and caters to a very specific clientele as such, but everything was great.

Joyce Dugan from the Saturday Club was nice and easy to work with. Since they didn't have a Friday event, they gave us keys on Friday and allowed us to do set up Friday evening and Saturday morning. They did provide the tables and chairs and set them up on Friday for us which was awesome. The employee Chris was there in the office during the wedding if we needed anything. The place is really cute and was the perfect size for our wedding. We had just the perfect amount of room for the number of table and chairs we used and enough room on the dance floor. There is a little area/ private room near the bathrooms that serves as the bridal suite and also a great place to nurse my son and for other nursing moms. The price was great and I love what the money goes towards. I would absolutely recommend this for a wedding of 50-90 guests or for other events. This would also be a great spot for bridal and baby showers. And they worked so well with our caterer. We put the photo booth in the front vestibule area. There is also a coat closet when you first walk in.

We loved Trish Finley and she was a huge part of why we chose that venue. Ellis is absolutely gorgeous! One of the biggest selling points is the absolutely stunning bridal suite. That really made the entire morning so relaxing and enjoyable. Tina, our event coordinator, was absolutely wonderful. She was communicative, responsive, and very patient with all of our questions. She made sure everything was in place to make sure we had the perfect wedding. We also worked with Brielle and Megan, who were both incredible. They were so kind, fun, and attentive. You honestly don't need a planner with all of the people wonderful people at Finely. On the day of, Shannon was my bridal attendant and she was just awesome. The entire staff is first class! We've received so many compliments about every aspect, but especially the food. The food really is the best! Our guests were particularly impressed with the dessert room. This is basically a small down and back loop with a few short side trails that crisscross the main path, Jenkins Road. They always have a specials list which consists of a few different appetizers, entrées, and pizza option. The last few times I have ordered the bone in pork chop with Marsala gravy, mushrooms, and onions. It comes with oven roasted potatoes, asparagus, and I always order a side of french fries and long hots to soak up the excellent Marsala gravy. No doubt it is one of my favorite dishes. They just added a bunch of new TVs, high top tables, and more seating all around. The patio is a great option in warmer weather. Excellent service all around. Vanessa, Laura and Val are great bartenders. My only complaint would be their beer selection. They need to do a better job with the draft list. This is a great spot worth checking out.

I've been wanting to play Radnor Valley ever since my round across the street at Overbrook this…read morespring. The area is gorgeous and the course was just as stunning as the setting. The course is a classic design for the western phila burbs, with tight fairways smallish greens and everything flows through the land as it was. Going off of 1 really sets the tone of what's to come, the tee ball will be important but that second shot will make or break your day. The fairways early on are filled with slopes. Downhill, sidehill, uphill lies test your iron repertoire as the greens are fast and offer loads of break. Putting from above the hole is not recommended nor are those 20' breaking side hill putts. The members will guide you to the correct areas to Putt from. Flipping to the back 9 the course flattens out and the greens become a little flatter, because they aren't on hill sides. They are still challenging to putt but more manageable to control roll out. Conditioning of the course is on par with the best in the area. Tees are immaculate, greens are perfect with a true roll on all 18. The bunkers are extremely playable and the fairways are clearly defined and perfectly maintained. I loved my round at Radnor and even though I played it off season I hope to come back in the season and get to enjoy it at full pace and grab a bite to eat too!
