My coworker recommended this place for brunch. My wife and I loved the decor when we walked in and anticipated a long wait on a late Sunday morning. Staff was friendly and got us checked in. While waiting they brought around samples of a flatbread and smoothies. Was really kind of them to do that while everyone was waiting. Fortunately, a few seats came up at the bar and we were able to get seated a little quicker. My wife ordered a salad and I got the eggstravaganza. You could tell they used premium ingredients. The eggs were cooked perfectly for me (over easy), the potatoes were delicious and the French toast A+. Their brunch drinks started at $8. Everything was great, besides two things. First, the price point is high. Even for high end brunch spots the food relative to the price doesn't line up. My 2 eggs, 2 pieces of bacon, a few slices of potatoes and 2 slices of French toast was $15. To me, that's crazy for bacon and eggs and French toast. The second thing that wasn't so great was it took over 30 minutes to get our food after we ordered. Yeah, they're busy and I know kitchens get backed up. 20 minutes is about as long as it should take to get a salad and basic breakfast together in any kitchen. 30 is way too long. I could see if there were more in our group or we ordered something that took a while to make, but for what we ordered that was too long. Overall this place was OK. Similar to many brunch spots, but priced higher with slower ticket times. Otherwise service was great, decor nice, ingredients fresh. read more

When we arrived we asked the wait time for a party of 3, we were told 20 minutes max so we put our name on the list. We waited over 40 minutes and still were not seated. We would not have waited had we known it was going to take so long. We would have driven somewhere else. Honesty with wait times is very important especially when families have young children. This was our first time here after driving past many times. I have to say that I read the menu and was intrigued by the unique and different fare. We finally went there today and it was a joy, being seated at a table is great but it was a long wait an hour to an hour and a half so we decided to sit at the bar which was an excellent choice. Welp, I've been wanting to dine in here for a long while now and finally got the chance to come on a random breakfast date. The pictures may not look too amusing and appear as basic, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. We both got fresh smoothies from the juice bar and bene's as meals. He got the Avocado Toast while I went for the Chesapeake. Yes, I'm a sucker for lump crab meat! Both were enjoyable and our server was very sweet and attentive. Made an online reservation through yelp for 9:45am today over a week ago. When we arrived at the restaurant they told me they didn't have any reservations for me and then looked up my phone number and said it was for 12:45pm even though I had a screenshot of the reservation for 9:45am. They also had signs saying they were doing reservations only today on the doors and were turning people away who didn't have one. Eventually the hostess "found" us a table even though hardly any of the tables were full and plenty of staff was standing around. The food was mediocre. I asked for cheddar cheese on my eggs and it was very obvious it was american singles as it looked like plastic. My friend's chicken and waffles was super over cooked and dry/burnt. Likely won't be back but wanted to share the major issue with their reservation system and it not working appropriately through yelp. Someone needs to fix that. After going here several times - and we've given it "one more try" - twice - the last visit was the last straw. While the food is good, the service/wait is just abysmal. Overheard the bartender blaming the kitchen, but last I checked the kitchen didn't make the drinks... Sadly, I highly doubt a return from us. My family and friends are always wanting to go out to eat at Eggspectation specifically for the breakfast. Not only do they serve healthy natural beverages options there mimosas are great. The food is perfect every time, from the strawberry salted caramel waffles, to the steak and eggs, to the shrimp and grits. (Clean shrimp and medium size). Today, we sat at the bar and Stacey and Ed were a delight. Respectful, funny, and just a great way to start our Sunday with positive attitudes. We assumed we had to wait that long even though there were plenty empty tables due to the fact they were under staffed. We weren't too keen with the table we got because it was situated right in front of the entrance to the restrooms ;(. Anyway after seated, we ordered right away, food came out quite slow. Fried chicken with waffle was ok only and chicken definitely needed more flavour. Waffle was kind of softer than we preferred. French toast flambé was good. The portion was big for one person. The only tiny complaint we had was that in the middle of the breads was very soggy. Mocha drink wasn't recommended by us after we had it. Our server was awesome. Loved the atmosphere of the place it was open and had warehouse ceilings there was a bar area and even outdoor seating. My friend and I stopped over after a medical test since it was nearby. Did not regret it. The food was so good. I rarely ever finish my whole meal and I cleaned the plate. I had the avocado toast Benedict. It was a pretty healthy option. Basted egg, avocado, tomato atop multi grain toast. Hollandaise sauce with a touch of chimmichurri to finish ...my God it was delicious! As a side I had the potatoes. Simple slices seasoned and sautéed with onions but oh so good. My drink of choice was the green juice, a mix of spinach, apples, fresh ginger and mint...so refreshing and not too sweet. My friend had the eggspectation omelets that had all the breakfast meats and the side of potatoes...I had a couple bites. Just as delicious as my meal. The restaurant had one other table occupied when we arrived around 6:45pm on Saturday. The staff spent 90% off the time hidden from the guests. The food was very underwhelming. It took half of my Belgium waffle for me to get a waitress' (NOT OURS) attention to get some butter. When I put my napkin on the table however, our waitress immediately cleared my plate and napkin without even asking if I was done. Good thing I wasn't on my way to the bathroom!
