We came on our first day in Hawaii, and since we arrived early (just opened), we were seated immediately. We ordered the Loco Moco, Pancake, guava juice and orange juice for breakfast. The Loco Moco was awesome. The sauce was super savory and flavorful, the hamburger patty had a really nice sear. The eggs sunny side up were perfect. I barely had two bites before the rest of the family devoured it. The pancakes were fluffy and had a generous heaping of whipped cream on it. I only gave them a 4 star, because a second morning 4 or so days later, I ordered the Loco Moco again for take out. Took 15 mins and unfortunately the patty was undercooked inside, it had no sear on the outside, and the sauce was bland. The sunny side eggs' whites were also undercooked. Was a disappointment after such a high note. read more

Excellent breakfast, long wait. Make your reservation on yelp before you leave your hotel to walk over. It is worth it!

Not worth the price or wait. All hype. Food was ok nothing to write home about. Definitely not worth the $50 for 2 meals.

The wait is forever long no matter what time you arrive. We learned after the first dining experience that it's smartest to add our name to waitlist and then show up an hour later . That worked v well. They are CRAZY @ not bringing in any outside drinks in even if you are also ordering a coffee to dine in. We had to leave w our coffee at front and pickup after we finished. Kind of dumb & obsessive but whatever! Great pancakes! read more

We were able to get a reservation for breakfast. Service was nice and quick. Food was subpar. The rainbow pancakes tasted like the quick box mix that you add water to but the fruit was nice and fresh. My boyfriend enjoyed the loco moco. The fried rice was not good. I liked the French toast, the whipped cream tasted like banana so that was pleasant surprise. read more

Really great breakfast food and very good service. Make sure to reserve a table in advance.

It's a great breakfast in Waiks, just be ready (and patient) for the wait. The loco-moco is great.

This place was recommended to us by a number of people and it did not disappoint! Make your life easy and check in on Yelp before you go - the wait is long but it is worth it! It's such a cozy spot full of cheery, helpful people. The mochi waffle with pineapple, whipped cream, macadamia nuts, AND coconut syrup (as advised by our server) was heaven. Best waffle ever. My husband got the Portuguese sausage, eggs, and pancakes, and it was delicious as well. Great spot. Hope to be back before we leave! read more

It doesn't taste anything like the original eggs and things. And the parking is 10$ minimum. And they are asking 14$ for raw materials they spend maybe 2$ for total and pay their cook standard cultural accepted wages. So they are pocketing like 8$ profit no doubt. They coconut syrup didn't taste good like it used to. The pancakes looked great but the flavor was seriously lacking in every way. The butter was great. The eggs were not the signature eggs. Save your money go to McDonald's atleast it sort of taste good. This place used to be awesome most my childhood and for like 2 years after 18yrs old. But all their franchises were the same just lacking and a smack in the face. If you didn't know eggs n things was a knock off of original pancake house started by one of their ex cooks. Sadly original pancake house like eggs and things is terrible as well but both have great wait staff and the cook flipping the cakes. But the flavor and texture were the only reason people went to them and like most place when they got success they stopped giving us quality flavor and consistency. The eggs came to me cold and nothing like they had consistently for the first 20yrs of my life. Hey if your unwilling to pay quality cooks a fair wage to keep the greatness alive no wonder both original pancake house and eggs and thing is the worse place to get pancakes and eggs. But thier steak and potatoes looked good. And thier pork chop. I wouldn't work for a place either I knew I brought over a few million a year to that wanted to pay me less then a living wage in a state that has some of the highest food and cost of living. A living wage in hawaii is about 25hr anything less you living pay check to pay check. The batter isn't even the same I mean it's flour and eggs lmao but they want to cut corners or cater to the Japanese pallet which has a better for your body lower sugar sweet thing going on. But even the Japanese tourists would come here to eat that amazing flavor and sweet coconut syrup I haven't had anywhere in over a decade. I probably will never come back to this franchise it was that much of a let down. 15$ for gas +10$ parking + 14$ plate sure they gave me a 2dollar off because the eggs was cold. They wanted 14 and I wanted to pay zero because it was that bad and far from eggs and things the lady who got the steak at the same time as me got her food 5min before me lol and I got pancake eggs and sausage at a breakfast spot. I would expect the same lack of flavor from everywhere now days from what I've eaten. I ended up going to ala moana and getting ramen tht was tasty. As far as yelp flagging my original post and allowing this business manager to bully my review. Which BTW this was a cherished amity breakfast spot since it opened for my family. Id say yelp is corrupt. We will see if they remove this one and if the manager at eggs and things trys to get this one removed. I don't feel I went overboard on my last one you don't know what I've experienced and how I felt. Boycott places like this. Even a fast food chain that used to sell pink meat made with anything but beef hs better flavor as far as breakfast goes. read more

Good cheap eats for breakfast at the center of Waikiki. Waitlist is pretty bad because it's a small location, only has about 8 tables inside, so a typical wait is around 1-2hrs. You can sign up on yelp and they will call you when it's your turn. Food is okay for the price. Mochi waffle was definitely the highlight. This place also doesn't have AC. They have two large fans blowing but it may get hot. read more

Long wait time for mediocre food. Of course expensive, but that is Waikiki. Wait staff was attentive and attempts were made to seat everyone at soon as possible. Crowded and noisy inside read more

Servers were rude, didn't check up on you, serve and go they just wanted you out. Hardly gave you time to order.

With a reservation you wait for about 5 min. I loved that they use organic eggs! The hash was no bueno didn't have any flavor, I even ordered it extra crispy. Sausage was good. Toast felt like it has been sitting for a while. The strawberry pancakes we're better than the regular short stack. They felt more light than the regular. The staff is really friendly. * Price: pretty cheap. $10-$15 per person with large portion. 4 star. * Ambiance: very small, less than a dozen of tables. Probably that is the main reason why they always have a long line. Casual and old school, the decor has been the same since ever. You can come with flip flops and beach clothes. 3 star. * Location: across from the beach. Ocean view. 5 star. * Meals: comfort local food. 4 star. * Seevice: very nice staff tonight.4+ star. This small.restaurant is always having a long line for breakfast and lunch. We walked by it after coming back from the beach and saw no line... so why not. We were surprised for all of the negative and 1/2 reviews. We had garlic shrimp plate $15, fried rice and eggs $12 and french toast for $11.50. Garlic shrimp is pretty good, 1/2 dozen good size shelled shrimp with white rice. The garlic sauce is very mild but not bad! Fried rice and eggs is traditional.local fried rice with soy sauce, eggs, ham and green onion and large fried eggs on top. French toast is pretty good, moist, with 3 choices of syrups (maple, guava or coconut ayrups). You are not going to have resort luxurious services or haute food here. If you are in the mood for local, cheap eat, then check it out...and the view is great as well. read more

We ordered to-go and ate back in our hotel room. The food was good, seemed like whomever packed our food threw it all in the containers (orange slices on top eggs Benedict's that were all broken :( ). It gets very crowded here, so come early and get your name on the list or to-go! Staff was very friendly, cool diner atmosphere amongst the business of Waikiki. read more

A OK spot to get a quick lunch once you are in. This eatery is located right in the Waikiki Circle Hotel complex and usually you have to wait in line to get in. The way it works is this. You get in line, and as you get towards the front, the host asks you how many are in your party. When you get close to entering, they actually take your order at the host station before you get into the restaurant. Then your party gets in another line to be seated and one member of your party goes to the cashier to pay for the meal before you are seated. You then join your party and are seated at a table. Your food is served shorty. We had the Loco Moco, pancakes, Kalbi and Eggs, and all items were good, not great, but A-OK. Servers were super pleasant and friendly and that made it a nice experience for us. read more

We've always wondered what's with the long wait and so we finally made it in. The service was fine but the food was very bland and eggs were really overcooked. Don't know if it was an off day but we won't be waiting 45 minutes again to find that. read more

Food is amazing and the ocean view is beautiful. Highly recommend, just make sure to get on the waitlist.

I had the ribeye and eggs which were cooked to perfection with a coffee rub. Very very good. I also tried the Aji tuna breakfast platter, which was amazing even better than the steak. My wife, however, tried the omelette and did not like I concurred after trying it was not good. Our waiter was not rude. Also not pleasant. You could tell he was in a bad mood or just one of those people. The lipstick left on the glass to our mimosas was not my wife's favorite color. And when I sent it back they gave me one half filled. Cmon guys don't skimp a morning drinker out of his buzz. read more

The husband was hungry for some macadamia nut pancakes and I had a sweet tooth for some crepes. The restaurant typically has a long line in the morning so we decided to try our luck around 4pm and we were able to walk right in with no wait. The macadamia nut pancakes were ok. Not as great as boots and kiwis - Bc they don't have the Mac sauce but it was still pretty decent. You Can order the omelette and add the Mac pancakes as an upgrade for an additional $4 Crepes were good - I was surprised by the portion of this one. It was big enough for 2 people. One of my go-to's whenever I'm in Waikiki. It seems like their pancake size decreased significantly, but thankfully they still taste just as good. I ordered the macadamia nut pancakes with coconut syrup (must have coconut syrup!!). Very very delicious. But I went around 9:30 and ended up waiting for about an hour and a half which was a big turn off - don't think the food is worth that wait. I am not saying that this is a bad restaurant but, the things below are a deal breaker for me. 1) The pigeons roaming free in the restaurant and defecating on the floor while I eat 2) The smell of feces while I eat 3) The excess number of flies attracted to the smell of feces 4) Paying $23 for a Benedict with tomato and guacamole ONLY... 5) Having no guacamole on my $23 Benedict & our waiter bringing it out for me to add it "if I want" 6) The food is a half-step above IHOP/ Dennys I've eaten at multiple outdoor restaurants at the International Marketplace & our hotel and neither of them had the pigeons & flies. Again, perhaps my experience is isolated but, this isn't a great fit for me. read more

When I come home to hawaii, this is my go to place for breakfast. Over the years it's become popular and now there's always a waiting list to get seated. I can say this is true for both locations. Today, it was time to revisit this place and have some local style breakfast. As I arrived, I can see people already waiting to be seated. I signed in and joined them. Note: you can sign up to be on the waiting list through Yelp. Once you sign up, it'll send a text confirmation. I messed up and didn't fully sign in and never got the text, and almost an hour had gone by and my name was never called. I talked with the host and he was able to get me seated. I ordered the loco Moco and the Hawaiian style pancakes. Know that these are Hawaiian size servings so be hungry when you come! The Loco Moco with sunny side up eggs was just right. The pancakes were fluffy and I loved the bits of pineapple, coconut, & macadamia nuts. I asked for coconut syrup but it wasn't the usual coconut syrup like before. They gave me Haupia like sauce. Which is good for me because I love haupia but someone who is not from Hawaii may not like it since it's not a syrup it's more like a pudding consistency. Try it if you love coconut! Overall, the food was good, the staff was nice. Make a reservation and enjoy a good breakfast with much Aloha! Njoy! It turns out read more

Came here for breakfast during the week day. The wait was about 45 minutes for two people. It is small inside so I can see why. The prices are okay and they give you large portions. We sat down and was greeting immediately. It looks like their coffee is supposed to be popular but to me it wasn't anything to talk about. Just regular in my opinion. I got the veggie omelette that came with a short stack of pancakes. You can upgrade it to specialty pancakes for $5. To me that's a little pricey for a pancake upgrade especially since they are the smaller version. Anyway, the veggie omelette was fine and the regular pancakes were good. It definitely kept me full for my full day tour ahead. read more
