Best chicken-fried bacon ever!!! And everything else I've ever had is amazing. It's not your average breakfast joint!!

Just stopped by this place on a whim. Super cool spot that has a posh Chicago Atmosphere. My food and drinks came out super fast and my waiter Jackson was super funny and interesting to talk too. Ambiance is very hip and mod but comfortable and welcoming also. Excellent service. Food was AMAZING - fresh, perfectly poached eggs and the Bloody Mary on point!! Always busy after 9ish as it's still new to our area. Today I came at 0715 on a weekday and it was very comfortable and not crowded. Highly recommend this place! I'll be a regular. Absolutely AMAZING!! I saw this place initially on TikTok and knew I had to try it. Me and my girlfriend came on a Sunday morning and were quoted about a 45 minute- hour long wait. After a little under an hour we got a notification that our table was ready. I really liked the system they used for this as you can see how many tables are in front of you and it updates your estimated wait time. We were then sat immediately and greeted by our server. She was amazing! The atmosphere is so unique and modern. I just wanted to get up and walk around the entire restaurant! We ordered the Whipped Feta for an appetizer- something I had never tried before and was nervous to try and it was AMAZING!!!! The portion easily could have been enough for 4-5 people. For my meal I ordered the Country Fried Steak Skillet. The portion was HUGE and I only was able to eat about 1/3 of it. It was SO GOOD! The portion was so large I was able to take home the leftovers and use it for 2 more meals. Overall, this place is SO COOL! Amazing service, such a great vibe, and such new technology being used. The Egg Republic is a must! We visited on a busy Saturday and waited thirty minutes for a table to accommodate 5. It was definitely worth the wait. I had a large Apple Pecan Salad which had grilled chicken, pecans, grapes, apple blue cheese on a bed of mixed greens. Two in our party had Benedict's with delicious hollandaise. The others had omelets. The service was excellent with the wait staff checking on our needs. The only negative is that it is somewhat noisy. We were seated in a semi private area which had a partial curtain which helped to absorb the noise. We will return to dine at this gem! read more

Very cool vibe, the layout and furnishings are cool - the music, too loud. So loud in fact, that I saw two people who appear to be managers fussing with each other over whether to turn down the music. I'm so glad they did because I literally couldn't talk to my dining partner or hear what she was saying. Here comes the important part. My French toast was cold when it reached my seat at the bar. I didn't say anything or send it back, because I was with somebody and their meal appeared to be freshly made. The timing and temperature of meals to come out of the kitchen is something that should've been worked out at this point in this restaurant's history. John, Paul, Brock, Molly, and the rest of the staff are amazing!! We typically come for the brunch cocktails and are quickly reminded about how amazing the food is. Heard so many mixed reviews about this establishment. I had read the 1 star reviews below as well as the matching story of the woman who was fired. Being a local food blogger I decided to take a leap of faith and try the food and see for myself. The atmosphere was reminiscent of a high end restaurant in the city. Our server was Nate P whom we had great service from. The owner and manager also walked around bussing tables and asking if we were enjoying our meals. After splitting 3 mimosa flights between our party of 4, and ordering an entree and a side of pancakes the price wasn't all that bad. The presentation was very good. We tried all the mimosas, and I had pancakes and the Spanish omelette. My favorites were the pancakes with the toppings, as well as the lavender and strawberry mimosas. I will say that while we were waiting, we did wait approx 1 hr 15 mins (noon on a Sunday) as did most people we walked in with. But I saw the owners respond to a review below saying customers are served in order as they arrive which is not true. We watched a party of 4-5 walk right up to the front desk as they told them they could find any table and just sit right down because they knew them. I *suppose* it is understandable if they were close friends or donors but definitely in poor taste when you have a large crowd of people at the front of your restaurant who have been waiting for over an hour. Other than that, the experience was okay. Nothing extraordinary, but a nice refresher from the usual breakfast scene around here. I'd return on a rare occasion - the wait wasn't worth it. I would not recommend this place to anyone! Our party of 5 was told we were next to be seated. Keep in mind we were a mixed group of black and white. But some how the party of all white people got seated first . Our waitress who did a great job took our order. It took an hour to get our food, but some how the white party got theirs in about 15 minutes. I complained to the manager and the owner took care of our meal. But then our hard working waitress came back almost in tears because of how the red haired white female manager talked to her. I told the white female manager she should not treat her employees like that and the female manager should be fired! But some how they fired the hard working Hispanic single mom who did nothing wrong. Don't support this business, especially if you are a person of color. read more

What a fantastic addition to Bloomington/Normal. We came on a Sunday with a short wait with the line out the door, we got in within 30 minutes. The wait staff as very kind, attentive and friendly. Prices are spot on with what you get. The food is some of the best I have had for breakfast. Give this place a try. read more

This place is so awesome for brunch! Although they are busy, it's worth the wait if you have to wait. The food is fresh and the service is fast for a packed restaurant. Bloomington has so many awful chain food restaurants, that churn out the same dribble, it's amazing to have a nice and inviting home-cooked food place to go, that doesn't feel like a chain restaurant. read more

Great atmosphere, bartenders attentive! Food was delicious. Prices a little high but you get lots of food for it.

I got one of their skillets. It was tiny and I was still hungry afterwards. It was good but it didn't blow my mind. I'll go to Cracker Barrel next time, and get eggs, hash browns, toast, grits, apple butter, cinnamon apples for half the price. The waitress also got my bill wrong 3 times. Oooo was this place good. I just tried it for the first time and holy cow was it good! Myself and fellow coworkers were all blown away with how great the food tasted. I can honestly say this is a place that I will happily go back to and try some more of their menu items. Delicious. 10/10 would recommend from myself and my four other nurse friends to Egg Republic! Food was good. Ambience was nice, but service was HORRIBLE! Our server took our order, and that was the last we saw of him. Our food was brought out by a different server, and no one came to our table after that. No one asked if we needed anything or how our food was. We had to hunt someone down for ketchup. We were done eating and NO ONE came. We sat there 20 minutes waiting until we had to wait for another server to ask for our check. That took 10 minutes. A server kept looking at us but never stopped. The have a robot server which is a sign they are short staffed. When we finally got a servers attention, he looked and read off drinks to see if that was our order. When we walked our, our server was behind the bar where he could get bigger tips. We were left...at least the server could have asked another server to cover our table. We left a tip before we saw our server behind the bar. The restaurant has a cool concept, and is trying to present sophisticated vibe but, falls short on treatment of their patrons. Might be okay for carry out, that way their is sn avoidance to the service. We will not be revisiting...$85 gamble and we lost. read more
