We love Shannon's 5 star! Close to home so we hit it for breakfast, lunch and dinner when our schedule permits. Went for breakfast buffet today. Food was super fresh and was replenished regularly on the buffet. I always load up on proteins and wonderful fresh fruit (so good.) Kid got meats, eggs, biscuits and gravy, French toast sticks fruit and went back for seconds of fruit and nutty coffecake squares. Amanda, our waitress was on the spot with the coffee pot and checked us often to make sure we didn't need anything. Great homemade food and terrific service as always read more

Been here a bunch of times for breakfast lately, I s'pose based on location, familiarity and frankly the weekend breakfast buffet which includes all the morning staples and offers the most flexibility for a groups - esp large ones which this place handles well. That said, nothing here blows me away taste, or service-wise. I've never had a bad meal or service issue here either. I considered a demerit this time around for the current prices, but frankly it's the same way everywhere, esp for bfast. The biggest downside is probly the ambiance, which is more on the noisy side based on it being a pretty large place these days and still pretty popular. I can't comment on lunch or dinner because we've never tried it, but the place prized brunch spot mostly by folks middle-aged and up (with more families/kids on the weekends) for its all-around consistency. read more

It was my first time trying Shannon's, I was so excited to try the buffalo chicken sandwhich as I've heard " it's the best in town" just to be disappointed with mold on the bread. Thank God I have a habit of looking at my food and I caught it.. I only took one small bite when I seen the mold and almost threw up. My bf had already bit half the sandwich before he even noticed. Review Visit: April 17th, 2017 Does Shannon's get 5 stars from me? Close, but not quite. But why does it not get 5? Well, let's go into the stuff that was fantastic first. The place is big. Like, full-sized restaurant big with room to spare. Plenty of parking available and it is easily accessible from one of the main roads in Bloomington. The staff was super nice despite there only being one other customer in the place. We had a completely empty restaurant to choose from, so naturally we sat near the windows. That's one of my favorites, at least. The menu does not match the size of the place... but that isn't a bad thing. While it wasn't a full menu, like one you would find at Denny's, they still offer quite a bit. One thing to note is that they have cut off times for Breakfast and when Dinner starts, so keep that in mind. I was all jazzed to get a full breakfast and the waitress had to break my heart. The price is way cheaper than your typical Restaurant. If you can zoom in on the menu photo below, you can make out what they serve and their prices. The Buffalo Sandwich I got was $5.95. With fries, it was $8.15, roughly. When our waitress served us, I was surprised with how massive this Buffalo Chicken Sandwich was. It was nearly 2/3 the size of the plate! Which was great since my stomach was grumbling. So why didn't I give this place a perfect 5? Well, the food was pretty good! The service was top notch for it being slow. No, what knocked this place down was the bathroom. I will save the dirty details, but it needs some TLC. Walking in from a fine restaurant to a messy bathroom that is in need of some upkeep was quite jarring. Hopefully they have plans to fix the issues with it as it was my only complaint about Shannon's. Funny story to wrap this post up. I wasn't paying attention and started salting my fries. It wasn't until I put the shaker back down that my friend and I realized that I put sugar on my fries. Instant sweet potato fries, right? I asked for hard eggs and got runny yolk. the bacon was very chewy and rubbery which is up to you if you like! coffee was good but when my friend got the chocolate milk, it tastes just like white milk with the smell of chocolate. the staff wasn't the best either. they didnt come check on us that much but they did what they were suppose to do. gave my mom the wrong tea twice. resturaunt wasn't the cleanest. read more

Average breakfast. The Homemade Sausage Gravy needed seasoning. The Country Fried Steak was not homemade. It was fine. They can't properly make a scrambled egg. It comes out like an omelette. The waffle was average. The buttery crispy hashbrowns were excellent! read more

The food at Shannon's is great! I like the biscuits and gravy platter, hash browns, and the side of sausage gravy. I ordered it to-go, and as I got home it was still hot. As soon as I had made my way into Shannon's the host greeted me with a friendly attitude and smile. I had stated I was here for a pick-up order, and it had been done by the time I arrived which was great. The food was so piping I had to stop myself from taking anymore bites of it! The biscuits had an amazing taste alongside that sausage gravy. The hash browns were done just right and tasted wonderful. I used my side of gravy for the hash browns and it too was fresh and hot. They have daily specials, and I would check their social media pages for any specialties of the day alongside if they will be closed. The best thing about this place is the parking. I was able to find a place to park with ease and didn't have to walk very far to get to the restaurant. The price of the food is also just right in my honest opinion. It's a bit more than other places in our town, but it has that good quality taste. read more

We were passing through on our way to Peoria. Great place! We both had the cheeseburger chowder soup. Very good. I had a reuben on marbled rye It was just OK...cheap pressed lunch meat corned beef. My husband had the chicken salad sandwich on toast. He enjoyed it. I had a piece of coconut cream pie...it was fresh and wonderful! It's been a long while since I've been to Shannon's. But while stopping through town I decided to have dinner. Although not much has changed (the interior is the same, etc.) it's certainly degraded in the past several years. The dishes were kind of sad -- a baked potato that only comes with a pre-packaged cup of butter and a pre-packaged cup of sour cream, a house salad with much to be desired, and well, that's about it for non-meat options on the menu. read more

I was in town and was told by locals this was a good breakfast spot and indeed it was! I had the ribeye steak with eggs, hash browns, and toast. The server kept my coffee cup warm and was very welcoming. My favorite part had to be the hash browns they were just so darn good. Used to love this place, just ate early dinner there today. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BILL!!! Seems they have raised their prices, which their limited menu does NOT reflect. Chicken dinner and Catfish filet dinners are both listed as $14.95 (with all white meat for chicken) ok with that price...somewhat. Was really amazed at the $3.25 charge for a glass of milk though! Servers are rude...I told my waitress I was unhappy with the eggs because I wanted real eggs. She assured me that it was indeed real eggs. (Look for yourself) then she told the other waitress who was even more rude and made sure we heard her disdain. For the situation. Ordered a ham and cheese omelet with american fries and wheat toast. The omelet was rolled up like a burrito, the ham was somehow processed into a mush, and the american fries were not made to order but rather appeared to be taken from the buffet line. The toast was good and the coffee came with flavored creamers which I prefer. Overall, the food was disappointing. The service was prompt and friendly. A great diner with the basic breakfast options you want in the morning. My wife got the biscuits and gravy with hash browns...delicious! I got the breakfast burrito that came with hash browns. Burrito was filled with eggs, sausage, cheese, tomato, and onion. I should have added green pepper, but I forgot. It had a nice brown crisp to the tortilla and it stayed rolled together to the last bite. Very good! The hash browns had a nice crisp on one side which is exactly like they should be. Shannon's is a great local restaurant specializing in breakfast food. The venue itself is bright, wide-open, and decorated with warm wood. I dined in here a few times for breakfast. It was a quite experiences because the room was always fun and it is fun to watch the servers to gracefully juggle all the drinks on their hands. Breakfast food is hearty and good-portioned. It is a shame that they don't serve all day breakfast and the hours are so limited. On the bright side, they are open for long hours to serve lunch and dinner. However, I'd say that those options are not as expanded as their breakfast. But the Saturday special Fried Chicken and BLT are really good. Buffalo chicken sandwich is too salty for me. read more
