Signature cafe is a Mediterranean restaurant serving (approximately) $16 bowls that are enormous, fresh, and healthy. The interior is light, bright, and clean. The staff that assembled my bowl was helpful and clearly took pride in her work. I chose basmati rice with chicken, multiple veggie toppings, and an awesome jalapeño sauce. It was fresh, satisfying, full of protein, and lasted me two meals. We were so happy to find this place on our road trip, and will definitely remember it for next time! read more

I can't tell you how much I love Signature Café. It's just everything I need in a restaurant! I have a very strict medical diet right now (no nightshades, no olives, insulin-resistant friendly), and I need to hit high protein goals. Ordering a custom bowl here was the perfect solution today. I ordered a base of super greens and brown lentils, topped with grilled chicken and steak shawarma, purple cabbage, cool cucumber, and sumac onions, finished with the garlic sauce. The flavor profile was so rich, fresh, and savory without needing any spicy or nightshade-heavy sauces. The meats were cooked perfectly and the portion sizes are incredibly generous. If you are eating clean, managing blood sugar, or just want a high-quality, flavorful meal, this is the spot in Bloomington. Oh, and bonus, it's locally owned and not a chain. (I'm just sad I forgot to photograph my bowl.) read more

Signature cafe is a very well ran takeout operation with a nice clean restaurant. You get all the meaty benefits of Mediterranean food with a twist of Indian spice and flavor, honestly a perfect combination. Priced are a little high but it's always consistent and very good with nice organized packaging. If you need a middle eastern meat and rice fix, look no further. read more

I was excited to find this restaurant. I had a bowl which is a huge amount of food: rice , lentils, greens, hummus, falafel, and I added a pita. Water is left out for self serve. The food was good. My pita was a bit tough and the falafel overcooked but a very satisfying meal. I can't wait to return. There was a long line for lunch and people enjoyed their meals. read more

My only advice to this great place is that they should make sure that their on line presence stresses that most of their menu is gluten free!! Being from out of town and accessing dinner options from Yelp or from their website, it isn't obvious enough. That said: man this place is awesome!!! Fresh food, great service, wonderful people on the job and fresh ingredients make SC a diamond in the rough of the banality of "Arby's Hardy's dennys Wendy's....... that litter the strip malls and big box byways of every town. I went here for dinner all three nights of my travel and sampled three different rice and veggie bowls with different proteins, sauces and extras, each iteration being unique and amazing in its own right. Oh and the freshly made mango lassi was a real treat that I simply had to sample on my last evening as a reward for being on the road...... My only regret about SC is that I don't have one here in Parker, CO. Don't walk, RUN to SC!!!! Robbo, Parker, CO read more

Signature cafe is my new favorite spot in town. I've lived here for ten years and this is by far the best falafel in the area. It gets a little busy around lunch time but it's worth it. It's also a little pricey but with the portion sizes, it makes sense. Quite a few tables but it's also nice to take to-go. read more

So after my second visit today, it's review time and I've gotta start by saying, the two dishes I've had (a shwarma chicken wrap and a ground lamb bowl) really have been top notch - vibrant punches of sharp, but shockingly cohesive flavors. Without a ton of Indian or Mediterranean food expertise (outside of gyros), I was shocked how much I enjoyed all the various choices - pita, wrap, bowl, or platter with grilled chicken, shaved shwarma chicken, ground lamb or herbed steak options. Combined with all the veggie, sauce and topping choices to make, it can be staggering, especially the first time. But then the uniqueness of resulting fresh flavors make it all worthwhile. As for the environs, taking over the former Pho Bowl suite behind Krispy Kreme, was likely a pretty seamless transition. The former was quite sterile and the new business is as well - with a dozen or so tables inside, 2 or 3 on the sidewalk out front and a narrow bar along the far wall mostly for laptop-toters. Given the presence of self-serve kiosks in both the entry area and at the end of the wall bar, as well as a fancy GIANT and ever-changing TV monitors displaying the various order options, it's safe to assume there is no table service. That said, my second visit was an internet pre-order and I really liked taking my time going through the options and found the pickup process quite easy and efficient. In the process I realized this pre-order Express Cafe business model works well here BECAUSE of the complexities involved with ordering most dishes. And when you taste the bold, fresh flavors made just the way you like it, you will understand. I was a fan of Pho Bowl, and a big fan of Zoup before that. Hopefully this place enjoys more stability than those did. read more

Really love this concept. I first had it in a restaurant in Champaign and was so glad to find it Bloomington. I've gotten the platter as take out a couple of times. These are huge portions and it can last me 3-4 meals. They are generous with the toppings and sauces. The only thing is, I find the food a bit salty. I don't know if it's the rice or toppings in general but I can only eat so much in a sitting due to the saltiness. Now the rest of my family didn't think it was salty. I wouldn't say I like bland food as I do a lot of seasoning in my home cooking. The last time I ordered, I added my own Jasmin rice to a portion and that worked for me plus I ended up having 3 more meals from it this way. read more

This place is amazing! Imagine a Mediterranean version of chipotle. So many options AND they have Dubai chocolates for dessert. The people are so sweet and kind, and will help you select choices to create a great meal. They have a smallish dine-in section which is comfortable and well-lit. They came to check on us to make sure we were enjoying our food. It is visited by families, college kids, and couples. Everyone we saw seemed to be really happy they stopped in. read more

Awww, just as I am about to move away, a delightful and refreshingly authentic Middle Eastern restaurant opens! How bittersweet for me. Primarily Middle Eastern, it has a few well-matched Indian options (such as paneer) that are a nod to the owner's heritage. The interior is nice with a modern, open design. The staff is friendly and very helpful with those who don't know shawarma from shish tawook. Everything I tried was fantastic, from the lentil soup to the chicken shawarma to the adas to the torshi--it all brings you right back to the Middle East through your tongue. Even the sumac is remarkably fresh while most found at other restaurants and stores in this region is stale and lacking. They even have beverages directly from the Middle East -- such as the lovely Iraqi soda, Sinalco. Awesome job, Signature Café! read more

Shockingly phenomenal. Fresh, flavorful and abundant. Very impressed. Fantastic. Beyond fantastic. The food is fresh, flavorful, bold. The service is excellent. The various drinks, desserts etc are all fantastic. Leftovers are excellent heated up the next day. My fiance and I went for the first time last weekend. Food was Very tasty. I didn't realize I saffron rice was so good. We got a bowl and a shawarma wrap. Also one of their "refresher" beverages and a mango lassi. Zero regrets on any of those decisions. I could tell the place is still figuring things out. The shawarma came out much later than the bowl. The owner(?) came out and explained things. Apparently he was the only one working who knew the process for making the wrap. We came at peak time on Sunday, so things were understandably busy. Not worth taking a star off because (1) the manager clearly gave a crap and (2) the wrap was super good. They also came out while we were eating and offered samples of a lentil soup they made. Wasn't bad at all, and I appreciated the service. Highly recommend anyone try this place at least once. For me, I think this place will probably CoreLife in our carryout rotation. read more
