I also ordered a smoothie, and asked for it to be split into 2 cups, which the employee gladly did. The smoothie tasted great! The location is in a great area, too. We've been to Theo's multiple times, and it never fails to disappoint! This visit, my friend and I got milkshakes- they can make them with any flavor of ice cream, and the flavors change often, so you have to try them before they're gone! The store wasn't too busy on Saturday afternoon, and we were offered samples, perfect! I like that the store is in the uptown Normal circle with so many businesses to look at nearby! They have quite a few including a few that are vegan. It's about $5 for a small cup. The last time here they had the Vegan Peach Swirl. For sure it gets crowded. It has very limited seating inside. We had a lovely trip to Theo's on a busy Friday evening with our students on IHSA Journalism state weekend. All of our students found something that worked for them- including vegan and allergen friendly options. The inside is cute with a little seating, but they also had an outdoor area with more seating. All of the staff was very friendly and efficient, even with so many groups of teenagers visiting at the same time. I wish their summer flavors had been available already because blueberry crumble, key lime pie, and strawberry shortcake sound delicious. We were there in spring, so I got the cookie monster ice cream in a peanut butter sundae and it was incredible. If I lived in the area I would definitely go back, and if we are back for state next year this will be a must visit- highly recommend! read more

Theo's is a wonderful, quaint ice cream and coffee shop in uptown Normal. Dog and family friendly with both indoor and outdoor sitting, my kids and I love visiting Theo's and have been doing so for many years. My only recommendation is that they rename their Espresso ice cream the Sabrina Carpenter for obvious reasons. That said, even if they don't, I'll still be coming back. read more

This is ICE CREAM. It's impossible to mess up ice cream but somehow these folks do it. The chocolate ice cream taste more like... German chocolate? I'd like to compare it to some other flavor, but I am gluten-free and wasn't able to eat most of the flavors they offered. I got a sundae and it was missing a topping. The whipped cream and dusting of crumby nuts ruined it. Nothing tasted good. This was our 1st time at Theo's and we were so impressed! What a wonderful experience! The shop is bright and clean and the patio is gorgeous. I tried the peach cobbler (flavor of the month for August) and my picky 5 year old son surprisingly ventured outside the box and ordered a scoop of cotton candy ice cream on top of his usual vanilla! He ate the ENTIRE cone! The staff (Alyssa) was so sweet and patient with him as he practiced his manners when ordering (we are working on saying "may I have" rather than just "vanilla cone, please." I also really appreciated the dog water bowl station on the patio. What a thoughtful touch! After this trip to a REAL ice cream shop my son has finally decided on his Halloween costume... Great place, I've gone twice & both times the items I ordered were delicious. Smoothie- "Purple Chill" perfect summer drink! Ice flavors I've tried: Espresso (Husbands favorite) My favorite is Cookie Monster And also tried the July flavor with cornbread/sweetcream based. DELICIOUS! Great ice cream! Very cute place on the inside! Very modern feeling. We have tried the Cookie Dough, Hot Cocoa, and Puppy Chow (seasonal flavors) all very good but Cookie Dough is definitely my favorite. As well as the Cookie Monster and Strawberries and Cream two all the time flavors. The ice cream quality seems really good it's very thick almost sticky consistency. We would definitely go again for the Cookie Dough or Cookie Monster flavors if not to try new ones. read more
