If you're going on a Sunday, brace for a wait. Ample seating, but clearly the food is worth the wait. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and fast. First time dining here based on a recommendation by a friend. They're a very popular place because the parking lot was very full. Quite busy inside, but we were seated quickly. Our server was very nice and took our orders; I ordered the meat lovers skillet while my partner ordered the Hawaiian omelette with hash browns. We both got the toast with our meals. These dining area was nice and spacious and clean. Our food arrived quickly and it was very delicious. Everything is outstanding and great services and food is wonderful and ambiance is amazing outstanding.

Food was great and service was efficient. We arrived 30 minutes before they closed, but they were very gracious and welcoming. We had a patty melt with fries and soup. Everything was delicious. I recommend Tony's hot sauce. You could tell the vegetables were roasted or grilled which added a lot of flavor. Put a little in your ketchup with your french fries and you'll love it! Everything was just ok, If you could grade everything overall this place would be a solid "C-" . Burgers were frozen and thin, as were fries. Chix soup was basic out of a can and salty. Steak was good for a diner steak, but after a few bites, it was getting pretty chewy. I would say service was great here, but there were only two tables with customers and about 4 wait staff standing around. Prices are reasonable. Will I come back? Not sure. Right now leaning towards, NO. I would rather give someplace else a try. read more

Great and friendly service and good food, what else can you ask for. The restaurant is bigger on the inside than you would think and very clean. The deluxe meal comes with fries and a cup of soup. I got the cream of cabbage soup and my partner got the other soup of the day which was beef barley. They both were served hot and tasted delicious! The pizza burger was big and tasty and so was the turkey triple decker club. I love fries with a coating like these had. They have Pepsi products which is great with me. I am glad the waitress asked about refills a lot because it is $2.99 for a drink. The prices are right in line with every other restaurant and diner like this one. First visit this weekend for breakfast. From the minute we walked in the door we were greeted with genuine smiles and great service. All staff was very interactive with the guests and so pleasant. You can tell they enjoy being there and must be under good management. Excellent service..and really appreciated that this Bloomington restraunt is offering the option of buying bottled water while Bloomingtons water is disgusting and undrinkable. Previous restraunts in town have not offered this and therefore you are stuck eating your meal with nothing to drink because the taste of the water is terrible and ruins the coffee and fountain drinks. Food was delicious and fairly priced as well. We definitely have found a new breakfast place to return to! read more

This place is easy to access from 55 or 51. I questioned it for a minute as I turned on the rough right turn off 51 (motorcyclist be careful) and the view of the neighborhood. Regardless, it is a quaint updated downhome diner. The servers were polite and efficient, the atmosphere was nice, a variety of customers, and no loud music :-) I always order a BLT and Coffee so I thought I would start here. It was an average good BLT and a Folgers/Millstone/Farmers Brothers type coffee. The bacon was cooked well, but there could have been more off it. Overall I would return for another one if I was hungry and in the area. Also, just the right amount of what appeared to be fresh cut fries cooked in clean grease. I've gone to Tony's diner a lot of times and ordered in we ordered carryout and tonight was the worst service that we've ever had there it is Saturday I called and placed an order the girl taking me order had no clue where anything was on the menu what anything was on the menu she repeated the order back to me and still messed up our order I ordered biscuits and gravy we got biscuits home but no gravy I told her I wanted chicken and dumpling soups two of them with beef dinner we didn't get chicken and dumpling we got beef vegetable he told her to drive back out and get gravy and then was told that they don't serve biscuits and gravy after 3:00 p.m. but they have an all-day breakfast menu why are you allowing people to mess up your business good answers and takes orders and has no clue what the menu is when arriving back to get the gravy she said she put the money on her back on her card we didn't pay with the card we paid with cash so not only were we lied to but we were treated with disrespect and after giving our money back he was told that they were busy no thank you no apology no nothing so as of right now I will no longer be going to Tony's diner or advising my friends of the good service that they have in the food also I left my phone number for the owner to call me Monday morning! read more

Not everyday we get some history and perspective about the owners and the restaurant. It was fun talking to the elder about his upbringing and challenges while his son serviced us. I had the gyros which was delicious paired with crispy fries and a wonderful chicken rice soup. I can tell this place cares about its patrons and wants to treat everyone that walks through the door well. What else would anyone ask for. If I'm in the area again, I will stop in. In the meantime, the owner's brother has a restaurant about 15 to 20 minutes from me in Texas that will bring me good memories read more

Great little American dinner. The best spot for breakfast served all day. The food is delicious and the coffee is perfect. I had the 2 eggs any style, bacon, hash-browns (super), and pancakes. I was visiting Bloomington IL this weekend attending a project management certification class and the instructor took us to Tony's diner for lunch. What a wonderful experience and great customer service! I had the NY style Reuben and it was delicious!! The frog cake was amazing! The chicken dumpling soup was wonderful. Great spot for breakfast! This is the type of place that you can tell has been around for awhile and has a lot of regulars. They are very welcoming to new customers though. I ordered a ham and cheese omelette with hash browns and it was really good. The price point and service was also awesome as well making this a win for me.
