I enjoy the food. I do not enjoy the restaurant and I do not enjoy the employees. They are rude and dismissive. They also carried out loud conversations including foul language openly which could be heard in the dining area. The dining area and bathrooms need repairs(same repairs for years). Since I like the food I will take my business to Avanti's or the La Gondola in Decatur. read more

Food was not good. Spaghetti tasted like starch. Pizza bread had extra veggies on top and were not cooked. Garlic bread, was not done all the way. Got a garlic bread to go, they lost the order. Went to the counter 15 minutes after ordering and was told they lost the order. Asked for the manager and was told he is on break. Will not be back. Was one of my favorites. Not any more. read more

If I could rate it 0 I would. The employees are rude, telling you that you're wrong about what the food is supposed to be. I ordered a kids spaghetti with marinara instead of meat sauce for my picky child, drove home after picking up my food, and it was meat sauce instead of marinara. I drove all the way back just for the front employees to tell me I was wrong and it was marinara. Someone, who I assume was the manager, apologized and gave me two of the giant cookies as an apology for the employees not catching the mistake before it was given out. The inside of the restaurant is really old, most of it is roped off so you can't access most of it easily. The benches are really old, as well as the tables, and the music is played extremely loud. read more

Had our traditional. The pizza was beautifully balanced - the errors from the previous meal (about 5-6 weeks ago) vastly improved. This was the best pizza since our first visit. The drive-thru clerk was very friendly and made us feel special. If we continue to get this type of service and great quality. This will forever be our tops in favorite pizza places. read more

When I travel to Bloomington, I always eat here at least once. It's a tradition! Their spaghetti sauce is hearty and garlicy. Awesome . No sweet orange sauce here. I also pack a torpedo for the long drive home. Perfect. The bread is incredible with just a tiny hint of sweet to compliment the cold cuts, cheese and lettuce. The guy that took our order was super nice and respectful but the girl in the back with red hair was loudly complaining about having to make the sandwiches. Where we could hear her!! Order from the Normal/Vernon Ave store, it is noticably better. I have been eating here for a couple decades and it never fails to disappoint. Its incredibly affordable to food a hungry family on a budget and no one will complain. You are also in and out in a jiffy. We always order the "Family Feast" with garlic bread instead of the regular bread and that is definitely the way to go. Somehow, whenever we order individual menu items it isnt as good. The torpedo is amazing. The drive through pick up is great. I like to pick it up so I have never been inside.

If I had to choose between Avanti's and La Gondola I would pick this place. The bread here is sooooo good and always soft. It's like biting a cloud, except the cloud is as sweet as candy. A half torpedo will do you right and splitting a garlic cheese bread is always a good choice as well. Food comes out quick, usually within 5-10 minutes. The pizza here is good as well since they use the Tobins recipe if you're familiar with that. Always one of my go to stops on a trip back home. The environment is laid back and casual. There are drawings hung up all over that kids have done while in the restaurant. Gives it a nostalgic feel. read more

People actually eat the torpedo here. It consists of very sugary soft bread, no condiments, packaged lunch meats, processed cheese food, and wilted iceberg lettuce. The profile is sweet, dry, and public institutional. There's literally no place outside central Illinois where that would fly. But this place gets three stars because you can take home a bucket of spaghetti. There must be some kind of midwestern poetry in that. read more

Called them and made an order on 03/22/2018 and did informed the person prior to my order that i want to redeem my coupon. 1. There was a bill for choosing turkey sandwich instead of the default beaf one. It was not mentioned during my order ( I didn't argued and i paid) 2. I love using Yelp to find locally-owned restaurants when traveling. Unfortunately, this one was a major bust. Nice staff didn't make up for a truly terrible meal. Flies in the dining room. Marinara sauce was bland. Garlic bread tasted strangely sweet. All I can figure is that people come here for volume, because the portions are huge. My visit to this place was a classic case of Murphy's Law. First, me and 3 of my friends wanted to go to Biaggi's. At an hour and a half wait, we decided to go somewhere else. I have always seen La Gondola and suggested it. Walking up to the place, you know it's kinda sketchy. Tuesdays and Fridays are "all-u-can-eat" spaghetti for about $5. There is a DRIVE-THRU (Drive-thru pasta, really?). The inside looks like a German donut shop, but the menu design looks like it belongs in a hot dog place. And the prices were weird...like $4.01 for something. My friends and I looked at each and all thought the same thing but no one said anything, so we ordered. My friend's ravioli had weird green stuff in it, another's garlic bread was burnt, and another asked for her marinara sauce on the side, but they gave it to her smothered in it. When she went up to correct this, they simply threw out the perfectly fine pasta. Also, I was the only one who was given parmesan cheese. My sauce was kind of watery. One friend threw up immediately after eating. Another spent the night in the bathroom. I almost made myself throw up. Never again. Can not recommend. Go to Olive Garden, Biaggi's or Avanti's. Or make it yourself...even that would taste better. read more

This has nothing to do with the food but entirely about the poor service I received. Actually, it's not even the service but more the actions of one employee which absolutely repulsed me. I went there last night and the man who took my order was working hard and doing a million things at once and he was nice, but in the back there was this blonde lady-- no mask on, and handling food with NO GLOVES ON. She was making a torpedo and placing salami on there with NO GLOVES and NO MASK. She stood in the back with this hazy look, her mouth slack and open and staring off into nothingness the whole time I was there. I work in food service and I know you have good days and bad days, but these "mistakes" of her are inexcusable. Wearing gloves while handling food isn't a COVID-19 precaution-- it's basic food handling to prevent contamination. She used her bare hands to put meat on a sandwich, didn't wash them, and then went and touched other food. Even if I wasn't a vegetarian, this would bother me tremendously. There's no way she is food safety certified (which is required for someone of anyone working in food service in Illinois) becuase her conduct was appalling. For the other employees, they all seemed fine other than it appearing as if mask wearing was optional and not mandatory for the workers which is slightly disturbing. I was disappointed. I've been getting food here for years and it has gone downhill recently to the point where I don't want to get food here anymore if the food handling care is so low. Pandemic or not-- people need to take their jobs seriously. That woman could have caused many people to get very sick with her laziness and it was disgusting to watch. read more

I like their spaghetti there and their hot ham and cheese. I tried their Italian beef today and it wasn't much to write home about. I usually do carryout ahead of time, so it's ready by the time I get there. They accept debit card, cash, and it's a good price. I just wish the family feast came with more spaghetti. read more
