Khoury's is an amazing restaurant with everything made fresh to order, including the hummus! The garlic chicken wrap was equally flavourful. The owner is a very nice man and he's been making delicious food for 30 years at this venue. Portions are large and you may have leftovers. read more

Incredible, high quality food made with love. Had such an amazing experience with the staff and the owner, and look forward to coming back.

Food was amazing. The service is great serving sizes too and the prices are good. Definitely recommend, especially if you're not from the area. read more

Other Worldly! Yelpers, LET'S GO!! Sarkis Khoury brings an energy and life to the food, his music, the atmosphere and more. You're coming in here for something beyond 'good food'. You're coming in here for an old-world, ancestrally-advised experience in Lebanese, Greek, Mediterranean family food. HUMMUS & PITA - 5 stars. When the owner of the restaurant tells you his hummus recipe is a family secret going back many generations, you listen. Then you eat. With each bite, each dip of the toasty warm pita into this layered, thoughtful creation, my tummy was smiling. GOOD food. Amazing flavor. GREEK SALAD / ADD GYRO MEAT - 5 stars. None better. LOOK AT THE PHOTO! This is the best gyro meat / greek salad I have ever had. That it comes from this humble, food-loving man, in this unassuming but quaint little restaurant - right by the rail tracks - is somethin' else. Listen, it's not like I just ate Greek food for the first time in my life..I'm a Yelper! I've been here and beyond, internationally, and have tasted some of the best traditional homeland foods imaginable - from South America to Greece to Russia. (I'm still working on getting to Asia.) But I'm tellin' ya...this place hit me like no dining experience has in years. If you're in the Five Points, Washington, Pekin, Morton and Greater Peoria areas...do this. read more

Everything is fresh made right there in front of you by the owner. The BEST gyro, grilled chicken wrap and falafal we've ever had. It was well worth the 25 minute detour from the interstate for an authentic and delicious lunch. read more

Food was good. Gyro meat was juicy and tender. Owner is engaging with customers. Service was quick. read more

My wife ordered from here using grubhub. They didnt include her falafel...never told the driver. I called and they said they were out of it. What kind of mediterainian restaurant runs out of falafel? Bhaklava was two tiny little pieces of dry Bhaklava. Grape leaves were also tiny and not that great. Another time I went in person and asked the owner for some Taziki sauce on the side for whatever I had ordered. He said I couldnt have any since it doesnt come with that dish. My wife surprised me with the order...I would have never gone back on my own. read more

Quick service on a hot Saturday mid-afternoon. Food was very good. Made at the time we ordered, so hot and fresh.

My wife and I dined in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We ordered the garlic chicken wrap daily special with light sauce and no tomato which comes with fries and a drink for 11.49. We split the special. The wrap was a good size but didn't have a lot of chicken strips! The chicken is standard processed non breaded chicken strips. The kind of strips you can find made by Tyson at Walmart. The garlic sauce was a bit overpowering and we did not love the sauce. The wrap was ok and the processed chicken strips were just ok too. The Krinkle cut fries were actually pretty good and had good crunch! The fries were a 4 star frozen fry with a good amount of salt. The service was great. We just were not big fans of the garlic chicken wrap. Maybe the gyro or Philly cheese steak would be better options? read more

Stopped for lunch just off the town square in between antique/boutique shopping. We had the gyro wrap, grilled chicken wrap, and fries. All were delicious, and we love that this is a local, family-run business. The owner even played his dumbek (drum) for us before he left. We highly recommend Khoury's for fast-casual, counter-service Mediterranean food! read more

Came here randomly. Delicious pita bread, chicken, and sauce. The atmosphere was pretty. It was sad to see so little people there especially during lunch time. Would recommend read more

Nice, quaint little restaurant, but what makes this place exceptional is the gyro meat. Very juicy, not dry, incredible flavor. read more

Khoury's Restaurant - Super gyro - New American Near Me - Washington, Illinois

Good food and some good entertainment. Food came out pretty quick and had good flavor

Quick, great service with super yummy food. We were in town for a dance competition and wanted something quick to pick up and bring back to Five Points. The adults were craving falafel and gyros while the kids had easy options, too. We arrived early but the food was ready and still warm when we got back to eat. Not to mention, the owner was the sweetest, kindest man we've met in public in long. The pita bread, in any form, was perfect and enjoyed by our entire family of 6. read more

Delicious food at a great price. Best gyros around! They are always hiring, though. This family needs a few responsible adults & teens to help them out. Go check them out! You'll be amazed at what you've been missing! Such a gem in Washington! read more

Always great food, service, and ownership! Their food never fails to leave you full and happy!

First, the food was awesome. Garlic Chicken Wrap, Super Gyro and Grape Leaves. Clean, charming with character. Best part was the owner. He was so much fun to visit with and talk about his family and food. Plus, he plays a mean hand drum. read more

Love Khoury's food! My favorite is the gyro salad but I'm also a big fan of the super gyro and tenderloin! On a nice day, it's great to be able to sit outside on the patio. read more

Way overpriced for mediocre food. Staff was friendly and our order was done close to the time we were told. Onion rings were greasy and soggy. We won't be back again. read more

Excellent food, family owned Greek restrauant. Usually order the gyro meal dine-in. Try it.

Falafel is super good. Quick and easy. Wish it was in an easier location to get to, but that's why we got GPS!

Always excellent food served with pride by the owner and his staff! It is one of my "go to" places when I am back to Washington to visit family and friends. His gyro is served with the best cucumber sauce ever. Every so often I treat myself to the baklava and it is great. In my book, it is an A+++. read more

I have yet to go there in many years and not like their food or there people. He might have a line or need some added staff in this last 2 years but what restaurant hasn't fought through such a difficulty recently! read more

I'm a big fan. Had the philly and it was really good. The owner was great. He came and sat with us for a while and we had a blast and felt like we had known him forever. read more

Whether or not this small restaurant is family owned & operated, you certainly feel that way. From the second I stepped in the door, I was welcomed with smiles. The restaurant is local, clean, but has a "home" feel to it. I felt a positive vibe during my entire visit. Upon asking what was good, I ordered a super gyro with fries. Each order of fries is made to order, so it is super fresh. You cannot even blink your eyes before your food is delivered to your table (I was in this restaurant shortly after lunch hour). The gyro contained all the usual, including fresh feta cheese. You can see that the meat is fresh, because it rotates right next to the grill. I do not think I will eat dinner tonight because of how filling this meal was. During my meal, I was checked on to make sure everything was okay. This is not a wait restaurant, but the employees are happy to check on you! I will absolutely return to this restaurant to try more on their menu! read more

Khoury's has the best gyros I've had. Get the gyro basket and make use of that tzatziki for the gyro.

Really friendly and yummy gyro meat. He served us our food at the table and made sure we were happy. More meat than we could eat. Nice open dining area with a patio. So in case it's a nice enough day to take the dog out with us for lunch, supper or dinner we will be back! read more

Tonight we had gyros, onion rings and fried mushrooms. The gyros had black olives on them, something I've never had on gyros from any other restaurant. So, while strange, we just picked them off. The onion rings and mushrooms both had way too much breading on them, so all we could taste was fried batter. Gross. I couldn't even taste any onion. My husband and I have gotten food here a few times since moving to Washington 3 1/2 years ago, none of the meals have been too impressive. I don't plan on returning. read more

We live in Washington, so we have been here a couple times. It's very clean and well lit and there are usually a few families there. The service is just ok - usually pleasant people wait on you, but they can be slow and understaffed at times so expect to wait a bit for your food. The food is usually very good - it's greasy, a mix between Mediterranean selections (Gyros and greek salad) and American food. It wasn't the best, it wasn't the worst greek food I've ever had. The service was what got me - it was just slow and the girl who made my salad didn't wear gloves to prepare it - that bothered me a bit, but she seemed new. I will go back here again, I just think their staff need to be managed a little better and trained to work a little quicker. read more

The food is greasy, the salad was limp, and please, mayonnaise is NOT tzatziki sauce.

MEH.. extremely mediocre at best.. Cod sandwich not worth $7. $2 for an iced tea out of the fountain machine.... I've paid less, for fresh brewed. read more

We are in town for our daughter's dance competition. I wanted something besides chain fast food. I ordered a gyro that was tasty. The meat was flavorful, the pita warm and tasty, and the tzatziki was excellent. I plan on picking up some hummus on my way out of town. read more

I'm from out of town and was craving some Greek food! Once my boyfriend and I saw this place, we stopped for hummus and grape leaves. Although they were out of hummus, they were very accommodating. We will be going back tomorrow for the hummus. The grape leaves were awesome! read more

Had their philly steak and hubby had their cod fish fillets. My steak was just ok because the bun was way TOO SOFT for a philly and it needed more meat. We are originally from PA so I do know what a philly steak should taste like. The cod was ok too and the fries were a little over cooked. all in all the meal was nothing to brag about. read more

Great burgers. Stopped to grab a burger while working. Made to order with anyting on it. 1/2 pounder. With .

I love Khoury's food! I have never had a bad experience here. The grape leaves and hummus are amazing! I've also had the falafel and gyro which is also the best I've had in this area, or ever for that matter. The owner is also very friendly and it's reasonably priced. The inside is nice, however I usually get take out. They also have the spotted cow ice cream which is a huge plus for me, since it's close! read more

Huge portions on everything. Gyros were tasty and fried mushrooms were pretty good too.

Of the few legitimate pleasures in life, one I will never tire of is a place like this. Those restaurants where the menu is advertised like a concession stand at a sporting event. Where you'll pay 5 bucks and change to get enough food to last a day and a half. They have no stand-out special dishes because to do that would be a contradiction in terms with the ethos of an establishment like this. You know exactly what you're getting when you walk into the place, and you're a fool to think otherwise. My highly positive impression of this place is insignificant without a background story of the one time I've eaten there. It was a somber Monday afternoon a few months ago. I awoke around 1 PM and found myself still pretty buzzed from the previous night. I had the night off, so I figured it senseless to terminate a good thing and proceeded to day drink until it was a dignified hour to go exploit free pool all day and night at the bar in the middle of town a couple of miles from my house. Right as I was about to pass this place, it started pouring down rain. I figured that being drenched is usually shitty and greasy food complements incumbent inebriation well, so I stopped in. I was the only person in the joint walking in. The owner was the only person in the restaurant, and attentively took my order. I got a tenderloin and some fries. My assessment of the dish? It was a fucking platter of tenderloin and fries from a diner. Tasty, especially for my ethanol-ravaged stomach, but exactly what you'd expect. The food has nothing to do with why I implore you to patronize this establishment. Given how destitute the conditions were outside, I was the only patron in the restaurant for a good half an hour. During that time, the owner took a keen interest in engaging with me about the finer points in life, my education, and his family. Upon bringing me my food, he politely asked if he would be imposing if he sat across from me. Of course, I assured him it was no bother and we spent the next 30 minutes swapping stories about our respective lives while enjoying simple comfort food. It is of paramount importance to understand how vital an establishment like this is given our current climate of algorithmic consumption. Here we have a man that takes complete pride in his otherwise dime-a-dozen, time-tested business, and engages with his customers on a personal level with a degree of earnestness that is unrivaled. If you're going to a place like this for a gastronomical revelation, you're an idiot. My one interaction with the owner is a flagship example of a single person believing in their small role in their respective community and performing their duties with unrepentant pride. If you find that trivial, scurry along to the latest hyped restaurant staffed with people that couldn't care less about you and go fuck yourself. read more

If you are ever in Washington, IL, I STRONGLY suggest this place! The food is outstanding, the owner "Sarkis" is incredibly accommodating. I was down on a mission trip for disaster relief clean-up after the tornado with 9 others and everyone was so impressed with the food we went back again and we were not disappointed. Ask Sarkis to play his drum for you, he is fantastic! read more
