We unexpectedly stopped at Fuse'd for an early Valentine's Day drink and ended up ordering dinner. Reservations were fully booked but the expansive bar gave us plenty of open seating options. The comfy bar chairs frame the huge bar and giant TVs displayed the winter Olympics. Along with the spacious trendy atmosphere, it was exactly the vibe we wanted. Since our first round of drinks were super tasty, we decided to stay longer and order the empanadas. The appetizer was a 10/10 - Flaky crust, savory seasoned meat, and topped with a perfect sauce with a side of slaw. Considering how good the app was, I ordered the seafood pasta to go. It was a hefty portion with a light lemon sauce and an variety of shellfish. Would order again. We also ordered the banana pudding which was perfectly executed, topped with salted caramel ice cream and a rum sauce. TVs highlighted special menu items and if I wasn't enticed enough to return already, the specials gave yet another reason to put Fuse'd on the go-to list. My first time and husbands second. We came back because of how much he raved about this place and it was definitely a let down the 2nd time. We came as a group of 6 and only 3 people had their meals come out good. My kids (who got pizza and wings) and my husband who got tacos. My steak came out cold. My mom's burger was raw, and they forgot chicken in my dad's pasta. They did end up being taken off with free desert. But it just falls on service being bad. Took forever to come to our table and then never wrote anything down when taking our order. Food was good once it was fixed and dessert was absolutely amazing. I'm always baffled when restaurant groups with multiple locations can deliver both hits and misses--how does quality vary so wildly under the same umbrella? At Fuse'd, the chef's name is proudly stamped on the front door, which usually signals intention, training, and pride in the kitchen. But after our experience, I'm left wondering if that chef is just a branding gimmick and not a real presence behind the pass. We ordered the avocado toast, brisket tacos, and fried chicken sandwich--three menu staples you'd expect to showcase the kitchen's strengths. Let's start with the toast. Actually, let's start with the lack of toast. What arrived was a thick-cut baguette (barely toasted) topped with avocado, mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, and a drizzle of balsamic. Sounds promising, right? Except it tasted like nothing. No bright acidity from the tomato, no creaminess from the avocado, no tang from the balsamic. Just... mush. Five ingredients, zero harmony. Honestly, it felt like something swiped from an Instagram reel and executed without care or curiosity. The brisket tacos weren't any better. The meat had the unmistakable texture of slow-cooked stew meat--soft to the point of mush--and tasted like it had been simmering in a crockpot with nothing but hot water and wishful thinking. The onions and peppers on top added no punch, and the overall dish lacked spice, acid, or intrigue. Then came the fried chicken sandwich, which could have been a redemption arc. The description hinted at layers of flavor, but what landed was a sandwich with overcooked, dry chicken and a burnt crust. Whatever seasoning or special sauce they mentioned on the menu must've missed the plate, because it was another underwhelming, oddly forgettable dish. So why two stars instead of one? Because our waitress was fantastic. Friendly, attentive, and clearly doing everything in her power to make sure we had a good experience. I've never believed in penalizing great service for bad food--she did her job. In the end, Fuse'd feels like a concept without execution. A place where someone brainstormed a cool menu but forgot to bring a chef along for the ride. read more

We frequent Chop'd & Fuse'd in Plainfield, restaurants by the same owners. We find the food and service consistently good. Management does a great job hiring experienced waiters and bartenders. You always feel like you're in good hands with friendly, polite and capable servers. I love the cocktails at Fuse'd, especially the Miserable in the Midwest. It cures my misery! Most everything on the menu is really good. I could live on Wagyu Bites. The bowls are delicious. Korean Beef & Butter Chicken are my favorites although the Korean Beef can be heavy on sauce & salt at times. The Fuse'd Molcajete is a restaurant specialty is is a great dish for sharing. The tacos are excellent as is the bread pudding. I have not tried the filet here, but it's likely a solid choice based on my experience with Chop'd 's filet. Finally, we've visited this restaurant through all seasons & the ambience has always been comfortable in temperature and noise level. In terms of pricing, I believe this restaurant is a great value for the quality and complexity of the meals served. read more

First time at this establishment for a lunch date with honey. Very cute and cozy environment. Ample parking in the lot. Entrance looks a little confusing at first. We sat on the patio. I had a peach sangria which was pretty yummy. We had calamari as an appetizer. As entrees we had crab cake dinner and seafood pasta. I wasn't a 100% fan of the crab cakes but they were decent. Went for my birthday with my husband. Made reservations and it asked if we were celebrating anything. I put we were celebrating my birthday. Had to change the amount of people a couple times and they were always very helpful with it. Got the edamame potstickers and deviled eggs with lobster and bacon. So good! I had the naked and famous and the flame fusion drinks. Both were very good. For dinner my husband had the cray cray chicken. He really liked it. I had the sea bass. So flavorful. Will go back soon. Plenty more things I want to try. Only thing is they didn't say anything about it being my birthday. I did tell the waitress it was fine and I wouldn't tip her if she did have everyone sing to me lol probably going back soon to celebrate my birthday again with friends. We made a reservation for 5 p.m. on a Monday to celebrate my husband's birthday, noting this in the reservation. While the hostess greeted him with a birthday wish, she failed to inform the server. Our experience quickly declined when we saw the bartender, who was also our server, using his hands to grab ice for drinks without washing them and then handling payments, other orders, cleaning tables etc. The conch fritters were the highlight of the meal, but everything else fell short. The crabcakes tasted freezer-burnt and lacked flavor, and my seafood pasta was mostly shrimp with tiny, sparse pieces of lobster, calamari, and octopus. The Molcajete arrived in a cold stone pot, with room temperature food--the only saving grace being the hot sauce. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty and fully staffed, the quality of food and service was poor. No birthday treat was offered, and flies in the restaurant only added to the disappointment. Went day 3 after opening. Ambiance was nice. The music was at the perfect volume and there were tv's playing music videos associated with the music. It for sure has an upscale bar vibe at times with the amount of tv screens but they offer an extra bit of entertainment for those sitting at the bar so I get it. There is also a section of the bar that opens to the patio which is great for spring through fall. Our server was Hailey and she was very polite and attentive. The food and drinks were very good. We ordered the empanadas which were braised beef housed inside a puff pastry. Super flakey crust and tender meat with nice flavor. My husband got the steak and said that this is one of the best steaks he has had eating out in a really long time. I ordered the seafood pasta. The flavor was great it has a nice sweet buttery chili sauce and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The only hiccup was that the menu said lobster and calamari were served in the dish but none were in sight. We mentioned it to Hailey and management offered to make us a new one, even though they really didn't have too. When the refire on the seafood pasta came out, it ironically had no seafood. An easy miscommunication on a busy first weekend after just opening. The owner stopped by, we had a laugh and he ended up removing the pasta from the bill. I did however look at photos of the pasta online when I returned home and did not see evidence of lobster or calamari, so I'm not sure how those two ingredients are used in this dish...maybe for the stock.?. For sips, I had a cucumber smoked tequila cocktail and my husband had a citrus whiskey cocktail. Both fine drinks. The ratios seemed off a bit, not in the way of lack of alcohol, but it didn't stop us from getting two each. All and all a good times were had by all. read more

I was really excited to try this new restaurant. First and foremost the atmosphere is great. It's a good spot for a date night or a night out with friends. The staff was also did a good job. Unfortunately, that's where my positive thoughts about Fuse'd ends. I went with some girlfriends, we decided to stick with just apps. We ordered the veggie kolachi, lobster deviled eggs, sushi hotdog, wagyu bites, mojo empanadas and lobster Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese was good and the wagyu bites were decent. We weren't fans of the rest. The sushi hotdog was just weird. The empanadas didn't have a ton a flavor and I, personally, don't think empanadas should be made with puff pastry dough. I'm not sure if the deviled eggs were fried or not, they were breaded but ice cold which threw me off, I found the texture unpleasant. There is "always something", good, bad or indifferent, when dining out. My "always something" for Fuse'd was the fruit flies. I will always have room at my table for extra guests but these were not the guests you want at your table. We killed several and were constantly swatting others away during our dining experience. It's definitely a problem that needs to be addressed. I've seen so many positive reviews about Fuse'd so I'm obviously disappointed that I couldn't say that same. I know it's a new restaurant so there a probably some kinks that need to be worked out. I would be willing to return and try some of their main dishes and hopefully change my review to something more positive, as long as the fruit flies are gone. read more

My husband and I were excited to try this new restaurant. The place was full and we didn't have a reservation, we found out they just opened yesterday. Rather than turning us away, the gentleman at the front took the time to find us an open table on the patio. It was a beautiful evening. Our server was so nice, and she offered great recommendations for food and drinks. Loved the flame fusion cocktail and korean beef bowl! We also enjoyed the huli-huli chicken and veggie kolachi appetizer. Everything was perfectly timed and we were not rushed. Looking forward to coming back and trying some more items on the menu. What a disappointment... and quite frankly, nothing was good. Extremely expensive for what it is. I ordered the rigatoni carbonara; it was nothing more than an Alfredo sauce. There was no pork in the dish either. Not authentic and even as a plain cheese sauce it was nothing to write home about -- no cracked pepper or spice at all. Carbonara has a specific taste and it had none of that. The sushi hotdog was another bust. It was all rice with two pieces of crab. No exaggeration. It's insulting to charge what they are when they are not even using an adequate amount of the main / highlighted ingredients. We were there on a weekend / 5pm. It was empty. A few people sitting at the bar watching the Bears game, and there was one other table of four people. We should have known it wasn't going to be good given the lack of customers. Service was fine. Can't complain on that. But, the food?? The worst. read more

I have been here twice in the last month for a dinner with a girlfriend. Service has been very pleasant and really accommodating! Food has been flavorful and delicious. Drinks were tastey and strong. Went last night with my BF. We had been wanting to try this place. I had the miserable in the Midwest cocktail it was a girly version of an old fashion. I did like it, but seemed over priced for the quality of the whiskey (high west $14)BF had the named and famous. The raspberry puree made overly sweet and the led cube seemed really gimmicky. Again over priced to not have fresh ingredients($14) We ordered the cray cray chicken and the flavors were great and the presentation was nice, but how it was presented (open faced) made it really difficult to eat both sides had sauce on top so when you put it together everything squished out, but again great flavors. ($18). The fries were a horrible disappointment. They are not fresh and were nothing interesting or impressive. They sell these as a side for $11. The biggest fail was the molcajete ($37) it was a wildly overpriced chipotle bowl. The guac wasn't homemade and was already turning brown when served, there were 4 of the smallest shrimp, the flavor of the beef and pork was decent, but the rest of the bowl was all rice. Or server was very nice, but seemed off her game or very distracted. We ordered our dinks and food at the same time. Once the food was delivered she checked on us once, never offered another drink (which we probably would of had a second) once we were done she did ask how my chicken sandwich was, but she clearly knew the molcajete was a bust and didn't even ask. She boxed our food for us dropped is back off and disappeared. Drinks were empty, didn't offer another or leave the check. We waited for a while, the bartender noticed that we had been waiting for sometime and asked someone to find our server. She finally brought our bill. She did offer the loyalty program and mentioned the other restaurants they are connected to. I want to like this place, hopefully they can improve. read more

Went on the second night open and thoroughly enjoyed it! My friend and I started with the lamb meatballs which were made amazing by the tomato gravy. She had the Cuban and I had the flat iron steak. The steak was cooked exactly as I ordered and delicious. I loved the potatoes and ratatouille that came with it. My friend really enjoyed the Cuban sandwich. Topping it off was the bread pudding- unbelievably good! Service was very attentive and open with recommendation. Liked the ambiance with the rock music playing and videos on the TV's. read more

This new place started with the right foot! Their menu is diverse and the food is very tasty! The portions are fairly decent, but the taste is excellent that you want to return back to try another of their menu dishes. Their cocktails, wines, and beers are matching everyone's preferences and very attractive. They have a good selection of wines by the glass or by the bottle with fairly good prices. Management stops in every table to ask you how is everything, but you see them working not just watching... The ambience is a bit loud with very tasteful decorations, lights, and comfortable inviting chairs. It is very family friendly and not pretentious with top notch service asking and visiting the tables constantly. Wings were tough and super chewy Poke bowl was a mountain of fish and no rice, rice is the hero in a poke bowl. Didn't look appealing at all. Fired Mongolian beef, wrong rice, tasted like pudding, Shrimp wrapped bacon - was delicious but only serving of 5 shrimps. Odd number when a table is always 90% even numbers. Worst thing one can do. Ceviche - no acidity at all, if you don't know how to make ceviche, don't make it. You can seriously make someone ill. Overall the menu didn't make sense.
