My Uncle & I were visiting from out of town. We wanted breakfast found this place I ordered the bacon skillet with potatoes and my Uncle ordered the omelette he enjoyed his I did not care for the undone bacon in my skillet and they did give me 3 pcs of bacon on the side still not cooked to my likes but at least they were accommodating. This is a good breakfast and lunch place. Their service is very good and the staff is friendly and very attentive. Its kept clean and organized with decent ambions. As far as the food is concerned I would give them an above average quality of food rating. I really liked their steak and eggs combo and the cheese burger. Looking forward to going back and trying out other items on the menu.. Overall I would recommend this place. read more

Came here with a couple friends for brunch. I had the strawberry banana nutella crepe, which was very good and filling too. My friend had the shrimp skillet which she enjoyed. My only complaint is that the waitress never came back to refill our water glasses throughout the entire meal. They also had a buffet set up that I'd be interested to try. read more

Great breakfast buffet! Perfectly cooked eggs, bacon, potatoes, pancakes, French toast, and waffles along with some Mexican dishes. Great, attentive service. I don't mind leaving a large tip when the service is this good. The place is hard to find, off the street in a strip mall. Worth it, not a glamorous place but a good, hearty breakfast with friendly service. Will return for dinner sometime. read more

After reading good reviews (in general) on Yelp and on our local town page my family and I decided to try the brunch buffet this past Sunday. Their page states they're following Covid guidelines...so off we go. The place itself is very big. Upon arrival there were 2 large parties of about 8 people each plus a few tables here and there. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was very nice and friendly and checked on us often. Some of the food stations of the buffet were nearly empty and took a while to get replenished. Under a sneeze guard they had a few cookies, 2 different pastries, some bagels, and some fruit..... and a good amount of fruit flies. Next to that station you had open food stations.... scrambled eggs, potatoes, eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, French toast, waffles, Mexican rice, beans, a fatty beef dish, and pork in green sauce. Food was completely bland so if you enjoy flavor this is not the place for you. Bacon, sausage, and waffles were decent so I stuck to that. The waitress did inform us that chilaquiles were included in the price but not put out on the line as to avoid them getting soggy.... good thinking! I ordered the red chilaquiles.... I love spicy food but these were way too spicy. They were served with very little sour cream and a few pieces of chopped up onion. They'd be perfect with more sour cream, onion, and some cilantro and a little less spicy. The tortilla texture was perfect though. But, overall, they were ok. So while we were there about 80% of customers were wearing a mask as they served themselves food....none used gloves or sanitized their hands to handle the serving spoons nor were the spoons cleaned off here and there by the employees. Neither of the servers, nor the owner/ manager, asked any of these grown adults (and few older kids around 9 or 10) to kindly put their masks on at least while serving themselves. I also saw 2 of the kitchen employees (when they'd come refill the stations and what not) not wearing a mask at all. They came and went many times. There was a lady and an older son there who I believe to be the owner's wife and son, also maskless, greeting newly introduced family and friends of customers they new with kisses. She approached one of the ladies (who was wearing a mask) as she was serving her food and she herself began to serve herself food only to begin chit chatting with her while holding a serving spoon in her hand and pretty much over the exposed food. If you have a sign out front that says a face mask is required why not enforce it by nicely reminding customers who aren't following your "rules" to please do so. Why post that your employees are using masks if they're clearly not? Why not have the exposed food stations under sneeze guards.... half of the area that had the guards was empty. Anyway, first and last time for us. Too bad, had high hopes for this place. To be clear this rating is not only based on Covid guidelines not being followed....food, service, and cleanliness were also taken into consideration. read more

I have gone to this place since they opened and don't get me wrong the food is decent. My recent dining experience changed my view because service I received was extremely poor. I arrived there before the group behind me. They were served first. When the waitress did show up she brought me water and took my order. After around 20 minutes the hostess stop and asked if my order was taken. I said it was but the waitress never checked on me or stopped back. The hostess went into the kitchen and less then a minute my food arrive via the hostess. After I ate, Finally the waitress stopped by but only to deliver the check. I told this to the hostess as I paid the bill surprisingly I left a tip all she said was she would inform the owner. Not I will bring him over and address the situation. The real sad truth is in Romeoville there are no good restaurants. Cafe Romeoville is even worse and since the departure of Eggmans at that location we go to Eggs inc. or the breakfast club. Sorry Gio's wont be back because of what this experience or lack of experience. read more

I was there last weekend with my family and we definitely all enjoyed it, we noticed the cozy atmosphere, and all the waitresses, especially Chef Jesus Pacindo, did everything to please the customers, and the taste, the food, and the portions are just perfect. Looking to kill time while my son is at baseball practice down the road, I usually visit the breakfast joint across the street, but thought I would give Gio's a try today (2/16/20). The place is nice and clean and the service was great. I ordered the country fried steak and it was absolutely terrible!! The eggs and hash browns and sausage gravy that come with it were pretty good (hard to screw those up), but the country fried steak was probably the worst cut of meat i have ever ordered in any restaurant in my life!! The first bite i spit into my napkin because it was so hard to chew, i figured i had gotten some fatty gristle to start. Nope, every bite i took after that was like chewing on a hunk of rubber!! It was a chore to even cut it with the steak knife! I only ate half of the CFS while spitting half of what i did eat into my napkin. Nice place and I wish them the best, but DO NOT order the country fried steak!!! read more
