Went there last Tuesday with my work team for a holiday celebration. The food, the drinks, and service was exceptional. Jacob was waiter, he was very attentive and provided excellent service. The maple old fashions and appetizers were delicious.

We decided to venture out on a Late Sunday afternoon and drove toward Lockport where I'd been quite a while ago. What a nice treat! We shared cocktails and a couple of appetizers on the patio. The food was good and our server, Nicole, was very attentive and personable--- while still managing a number of other tables. We'll be back!

I really love this place! The food is always so delicious, no matter what we order. The service is always friendly and very efficient. I also love the beautiful decor! I had the sea bass special and it was very good. Nice & light but very tasty. For dessert, I had the carrot cake which was very moist, but had just a little too many walnuts, otherwise very good! My daughters had the chocolate cake which I sampled & it was delicious! I also sampled my daughter's filet medallions & they were very juicy and delicious. I also really enjoyed the tropical mocktail. We had the pretzel bite appetizer & it was very soft and tasty! I also had the jalapeño corn soup and it was very filling & yummy. Hubby had the French onion soup and he loved it. Everyone loved their entrees! Can't wait to go back!

Well this was a very interesting place.. a very historic ambiance.. great place to go if you're visiting Lockport, with homestyle cooking... We went when they had their Oktoberfest specials .. I started off with their Chicken Schnitzel with potato pancake and dumpling the chicken schnitzel was delicious but the dumplings and the side of broccoli was cold And the potato pancake was not crispy.... Off the regular menu we ordered the Thanksgiving turkey. Consisting of fresh turkey breast stuffing garlic, mashed potatoes, cranberry and string beans .... Oh we made the mistake of ordering a well-done cheeseburger, now it was too dry.. So I would suggest a medium well Burger. If a burger is very lean and it's well..it will be dry...... But it was a good experience... I do appreciate the server taking it off. Believe me a lot of places you go. It's like you tell him what's wrong and they say okay and they walk away and they never fix it. Respond or anything. This was an older server. Who knew how to handle the situation.. thank you

The restaurant itself feels very intimate and exclusive because of its size. The drinks menu has something for everyone where the food menu focuses on specialty items you can't find at most other restaurants in the area. For cocktails, I highly recommend their martini service. I got both the French Martini and Espresso Martini and thoroughly enjoyed them both! My SIL also got the Vesper Martini which was surprisingly amazing. All had a unique flavor profile, spirit forward, but also balanced well. My husband also got the TG Bees Knees which was delicious. For food, we started with the Baked Feta. This came with four warm pieces of bread to pair with the warm feta and sauce. For entrees, our waitress said the most popular dishes were the Duck and Seasonal Catch. My husband ordered the Pan Roasted Duck and enjoyed the tenderness and flavor. I ordered the Ravioli Au Dauphine which was served as a sheet. I enjoyed the filling flavor mixed with the sauce and cheese topping. It was the perfect winter pasta. My brother and SIL shared the Pork Belly Confit and Pan Seared Scallops. All dishes came out with a beautiful presentation. Across the board the portions seemed a bit small but you could taste the freshness and quality of the ingredients they used. Gabby waited on our table and was such a joy. She was smiling always, made some great recommendations, gave us a good laugh at times, and was kind to take our photo to savor the night. I definitely enjoyed my experience at Tallgrass and it truly was the perfect dinner spot to splurge with.

So we tried it. Merichka's serves good food with good service in a non-fancy kind of restaurant. It has various dining areas and a small bar. The room we sat in was nondescript with not one decoration on the walls. The multiple ceiling fans were running so I froze all throughout dinner. I didn't get our server's name, but she provided good service and was engaging. She always came back to check on us. The other staff we encountered was thorough in delivering food and removing dirty plates. We started with cocktails, a bourbon neat for him and an old-fashioned for me. My husband enjoyed his bourbon, however my old-fashioned was Wisconsin style which I didn't enjoy. We shared the mushrooms as a starter - I have to admit they were perfection! The portion was generous and the crust was perfectly crispy without being greasy. I think we missed the boat, though, because we didn't order the onion rings, which looked sensational. Dinners come with a relish tray and a couple sides. The relish tray had cottage cheese, a bean salad and a pasta salad. Again, generous in size. My hubby had a steak with fried shrimp for dinner and his sides were a salad and twice baked potato. He ordered the steak rare because he didn't trust that it would be cooked to medium rare. He was right to go rare because it came out a little pink. I opted for the baked cod for dinner with a salad and twice baked potato. My cod was 12oz and was moist and flaky. I didn't even put a dent in my dinner because I was full from the mushrooms and relish tray. We ended up bringing most of our entrees home. I'm glad we tried this restaurant out, but honestly even though the food was decent, I didn't enjoy the bare bones atmosphere and being uncomfortable throughout dinner because the fans were on. If you like a supper club without the frills, I think you would like this place.
