Where's the meat??? Recently moved to Lockport from the Orland Park area. My favorite Chinese restaurant there is Mo's on 159th. I wanted search for a new Chinese restaurant close to home that has comparably good food. sorry this place is mediocre. I am a connoisseur of Asian food so I have a very high standard when it comes to it.... I order here periodically.. One of the reasons why I order is because of their white rice , It has a nutty flavor leading me to believe they use basmati rice, If I'm wrong I can't tell you but it is delicious. The second item is their crab rangoon, one of the best that I've had especially for carry out places.. it's a little bit on the sweeter side, and they don't skimp on their cream cheese, it's lightly fried. Not oily... I do have a tip for the restaurant because I did order the chicken with garlic sauce but the vegetables were not cooked.. but the flavor was there... I find that at many Chinese restaurants especially in the ToGo sector They are in a rush to put their orders out and the vegetables are usually not cooked properly.. I am very disappointed with our experience tonight. We have always enjoyed the Great Wall's food- but tonight's food was absolutely awful. Everything was undercooked and cold. I picked up our meal within the 15 minute timeframe they gave me. The Mongolian beef looked almost raw. The crab rangoon was cold and soggy. The chicken fried rice- was just onion and undercooked chicken. It was not ordered this way! It was gross. I called to complain and accomplished nothing with the manager. read more

Decent if you're in a pinch and need some Chinese food. Some of the pieces of chicken hard some grizzle in them, so that grossed me out a little. In any case, fair prices and they give you a good amount of food for your dollar. Worth a stop if you need some Asian cuisine. read more

i laugh at the silly reviews that people have given this great restaurant. the food is consistently excellent. they use only fresh vegetables and the food is freshly prepared. claims of "little meat", or my favorite, "the vegetables weren't chopped right and the onions were too big" are ridiculous and should not be taken seriously. you'll not find better Chinese in the area, and you will find yourself coming back for more. read more

This is the only Chinese place in the area that is worth eating at. The portions are large and the food is always fresh and delicious. For $30 we can get enough food for 2 dinner and 2 lunches of leftovers the next day. read more

I usually love the Great Wall, but I think their quality had decreased over the past couple months. The Hot and Sour Soup was bland and the wontons in the Wonton Soup were mushy. The BBQ Chicken tasted like the sauce came from a bottle and the Beef and Broccoli was tasteless. I did enjoy the Kung Pao Chicken. It was the perfect combination of salty, sweet and spicy. The vegetables were crispy and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Im sure I'll return again, hoping for a better experience. read more

I've tried with this place. It isn't that it's bad, it's just that it's super greasy and the egg rolls taste cheap as ever. They need to step up their game on the fried rice too. The chicken in the chicken fried rice was white as snow while the rice was brown!? I didn't understand that. I think it was canned chicken thrown in there cuz it wasn't cubed it was like strings. Idk. Weird. The fried pot stickers were burnt but they had potential. I will try this again but not anytime soon. I hope they step up their game cuz besides pagoda this is the only Chinese restaurant in Lockport. I can't even count Asian harbor. That place is a joke. read more

I stopped here for lunch after leaving berkots. The restauramt was tidy,simple and plain looking. There was a good amount of seating for dine in. The food was done quick probably about 5-7 minutes. The food was good. I loved there sweet and sour sauce and the chicken was fried perfect. I hate when places overcook the chicken and make it tough and dry. But this place got it right. The fried rice was good and the eggroll was ok. I probably wouldnt order the eggroll again. It wasnt bad but it wasnt as good as most and I would rather not pay extra for it. Side note the sweet and sour chicken is plain sauce. There are no veggies or pineapples mixed in with the sauce. read more

I was happy with the food here, nice menu, several items are available as a small or large portion. Mostly set up for carry out There is a small dining room, very plain but useful. I like that the kitchen is visable from the counter, that way you can see that the kitchen is clean. read more

If you are wanting authentic well seasoned Chinese food stay far far away. The food was bland. Everything was bland. There were these worm like dough things in the fried rice. There were also MUSHROOMS in the rice. I hate mushrooms and I have eaten fried rice all along the eastern coast from Florida ti New York and I have never had mushrooms in the rice. And this was soo bland and had to add 2 packs and of soy sauce to get my portion palatable. I spent 30 bucks and that's all this place will ever get from me. read more

We have tried a lot of different places but this one is by far the very best. It is family owned and every single time we have gotten our food very quick and extremely fresh. I got chicken fried rice and it was pretty awful. Veggies were not chopped well so I got a mouth full of green onion. And the chicken kinda tasted like canned chicken. But very tidy, neat and fast restaurant. People were also very nice. read more

We started going to this place about 9 months ago. They are not typically over busy. The food is pretty good. The staff is friendly. There is inside seating, but we see people typically pick up. The place is clean and the food is hot. They offer you sauces and you can help yourself to them. You can place your order and shop at the Berkot's next door then pick up your order. The times they have told me have been 10 and 15 minutes. The order has been hot and ready when I come back. Decent stuff at a fair price. read more

Ok this restaurant take out place gives you very little meat, if practically none an order, be it chicken, beef, pork, etc. They have their sons working and they are minors. Kind of illegal. Best Chinese in lockport no doubt, which is great because it's maybe a 10 min walk for me. I've always had good food here no matter what I've ordered but I'm partial to cashew chicken, sweet n sour, garlic anything, etc. I usually stick to the seafood, chicken, and pork dishes but the beef dishes I've had were good as well. The whole family is so courteous, respectful, and super fast. Orders always have been accurate. Fresh, hot, and a fair price so I can't ask for much more. read more

Great Wall is not so great and it is not so awful. The fried rice had a good amount of shrimp in its serving g and orange beef excellent and stringy meat. However it took forever to get the food out and the place and the servings could be more generous. read more

My wife and I ordered from Great Wall after looking at the previous reviews. We found the food to be fantastic especially the crab rangoon's. The prices were right in line with other Chinese restaurants but the food far exceeds most of the local establishments. We look forward to ordering again soon! Tried this place for the first time because of being disappointed recently with the other Chinese restaurant near by. We called ahead and was told the standard "15 minutes". Sure enough, it was being packed up as soon as I walked in the door. The Pork Fried Rice was some of the better fried rice I have had recently, however, the Kung Pao Chicken and Mongolian Beef were greatly lacking. They were made with the same sauce. The order of Kung Pao was over 2/3 green peppers while the Mongolian Beef was over half onion - very little meat in either. At least the food was hot. read more

We love this place! We have tried numerous Chinese restaurants around the area and surrounding cities, but nothing beats Great Wall! We go here almost once a week just for orange chicken and crab rangoon and have never been disappointed. The owners are super nice too. Highly recommend this place. read more
