Best Chinese food around. My favorites there are the Cantonese Style Chow Mein Shrimp - they get a nice crisp on the edges of the pan fried noodles and the flavor is excellent. I also like the Chow Ho Fun (wide rice noodles) Beef with peppers and black bean sauce. Egg rolls are good as well. Wife likes the orange chicken and sweet sour chicken (sauce has tomato pineapple and green pepper in it and not just the sauce like most places). I haven't had this type of Chinese food without going into Chicago. Dishes have the great taste I grew up with unlike the many Chinese restaurants that now have a whole different taste to their basic dishes that seem to have like a canned cheap flavor to them. A typical looking Chinese restaurant is in a strip mall with not that bad food. Dragon Inn probably is the best Chinese restaurant in Minooka. It doesn't have much else, so it has to be this. Food is Americanized but it's better than a lot of places like it. The prices are kind of high on the bigger portions. Came for dine in. It only has a few tables and it's a pretty bare place. This is a reason why most people get takeout. A few other customers were eating inside on this occasion. We got some of the typical favorites and while these aren't great, they're still pretty good tasting. At the time they were serving the dinner menu. The portions are bigger and the prices are higher, causing us to cheap out and share. It has a few vegetarian friendly items. We got the Kung Pao Tofu. It's about $13 for the dinner portion. This has a lot of spicy flavor, thanks to the dried chili peppers it's cooked with. I would have liked it more with the crispy tofu that typically is in this item. The flavor was still good and spicy. Go at lunch. It's cheaper even though you get smaller portions. They put fried rice made with pork in the lunch specials so if getting it vegetarian it means you have to ask for the regular rice though. read more

I love Chinese food and thought I would give this place a try as they are close to home. Sadly, my taste buds were very disappointed. Let's start with the classic Chicken Fried Rice. I found this dish to be rather lacking in flavor, instead it felt very heavily oiled. While it did have nice size pieces of chicken I was left wishing for more seasoning. The sweet n sour chicken was cooked fine however the sauce itself once again left my taste buds wanting. There was a serious lack of flavor with the sauce and I wish it would have been just a bit thicker to allow it to coat the chicken. As for the establishment it's self, it was clean and the staff were friendly. The young lady at the register was very sweet however I believe a more accurate wait time was warranted, but that is not her fault more of a lack of communication between the back of house and front of house. Ordered the seaweed soup and their version had many vegetables that I don't normally see such as broccoli and green and red peppers. Not what I expected but very good and loaded with vegetables. I also had the Mongolian combination. Was not as spicy as what I get in Chinatown but good portion and very tasty. I thought I would give this restaurant one more try but decided to pick up instead of waiting for delivery. I ordered an orange chicken lunch special which cost more than $10.00. There were very few pieces of chicken. About 4/5 of the meal was rice. It was difficult actually finding chicken underneath the big globs of breading. Covid has ruined this place. Dine in still isn't available. I waited an hour for one single item. I ordered a small and when I got there I was given a large and charged for it. I said oh I actually ordered a small and the girl at the register told me it only comes in a large. I showed her on the menu that there are 2 sizes. Small and large. China Restaurant is the world's worst provider of Chinese food. I ordered online and wanted delivery since I am a senior citizen. They wanted a pin no. and I was always told to never reveal or give out your pin number, so I didn't, but I had given my telephone no., address, and paid via Paypal. I ordered an over $80.00 meal, and I instructed them to call me when they delivered it so that I could come down stairs from my senior citizen apartment and collect my meal. When I came down after they called me, they demanded a pin no. Since they called me, I assume rightly that it is a verification that this is my ordered and paid for meal. No so!!! Another 5 star rating. We were looking for someplace in Minooka to eat and so happy we were advised to go to Dragon Inn. There was not a soul in there since lunch was long over at 2:30, but our server was prompt and helpful. We both love egg foo yong, and the local "buffet" has stopped offering their version of it. Normally, veggie egg foo yong is mostly bean sprouts, and onion, but mine was chock full of diced broccoli, carrot, water chestnuts and other usual suspects. Husband's also very good. A word about the sauce/gravy that we ordered extra since most places don't give enough. First of all, there was plenty, and second, it is a golden color, not brown goo, and so good and flavorful. Thought I'd leave a review here to let you all know that Dragon Inn is not your run-of-the-mill Chinese place. We're from out of town and ordered because it was ranked well on Yelp. A little bit different take on some traditional Chinese dishes, some good, some ok. Pot stickers are what you would normally order as fried dumplings and are huge. Same with crab rangoon, more like a fried pierogi than the small crunchy rangoon you'd normally find. Lastly, sweet and sour chicken was more lemony sauce than your traditional orange syrupy sauce. I found all these differences really pleasing and unexpected. House special Lo Mein had scallops which my husband disliked, but I got to have them so extra win for me if not for him. Also noticed the Lo Mein was more of a thin noodle than what you're used to seeing. For the OK, Mongolian beef was OK, I prefer it almost like jerky, theirs was not really that. The person I was with was a little more savvy on this type of food and they were surprised to see a dish loaded high with vegetables and shrimp. The rice was beautifully cooked for both dishes. Our favorites are the beef chop suey, steak cantonese, sweet and sour chicken, and the chicken fried rice.
