It was okay. The dishes were plated nicely but everything wasn't as it should be. The fried rice didn't have any egg or vegetables in it. The crab rangoon was overcooked and puffed out too much. It should have had more filling and I think it tasted like they should change their frying oil. The Moo Goo Gai Pan should have had more mushrooms in it and the chicken tasted kind of fishy. My boyfriend's mom liked her steamed dumplings and her garlic chicken too so at least she liked her stuff a lot. Since our bill was over $50 they gave us a free order of Chinese donuts and she gave us a packet of almond cookies to go as well. I will go again sometime and try something else. I hope they change their frying oil soon. read more

General Tso chicken sauce tasted more like watered down bbq sauce. Missing the fried rice that came with the takeout order. Barely any soy sauce with steamed dumplings. Used to drive extra to get takeout from here. We will not be returning. read more

This little Chinese restaurant is hidden away in a small strip mall in Marseilles IL. I would've never even noticed it but a friend recommended it so our dinner group went to try it out. This place has been a staple in Marseilles for a few decades now. They take pride in their business and are the nicest people. The food is great the portions are huge - seriously huge. The lady that answered I believe owns the place and was the one who we met at the Resturant - it's a small but very nice place. Place is awesome! They are really attentive. The food was very flavorful, hot, and plentiful. It all came in a timely fashion. I had the Kung pao chicken, and he had sweet n sour chicken for two. So worth it! You get 4 huge crab ragoons and 2 egg rolls as well. I even like their tea which rarely happens. The place is small but really clean. They treat you very well. Honestly, I've never had Chinese food better than Uncle Wongs. Its the Best. I've eaten at Chinese resturants all over the place, Chicago, etc.. And we've even tried out our past favorites after have eaten at Uncle Wongs.. And They taste horrible compared to Uncle Wongs.. The Food is Fresh, Authentic, and Made to Order. Sometimes they get a little busy but in general from the time you walk in your food is usually on your table in about 10 minutes or so. I've taken many business Clients here and they are surprised how good the food is, the only thing I hate is that there is only 1 location. But hey, I keep going and going.. General's chicken was tiny pieces of fried meat with the sauce on the side and too thin. Another said they had to pick around their fatty meat and eat just the vegetables. I am picky when it comes to Chinese food, and I thought this place was pretty good. I went for lunch and got the sesame chicken. It was very good - no complaints. The fried rice was also good and notably fresh. The egg roll was OK, but I am very hard to please with those so not saying too much there. All in all, I will definitely be going back for lunches. I've eatten at Uncle Wongs about 3 times so far. They are deffinitly different. The sitting area really isent as good as you would think when you walk in. There are a few tables off to the left side. The service is fast, the food well. I guess its the way they cook it, its like there is no msg. I think that if people dont want any msg in their food they should choose to say they dont want it. But, i dont taste it one bit in the food. Thats the first thing when i take that first bit is that normal chinese taste with the msg and its not there. I think they cook the rice in chicken broth or some kind of broth. Also, i get my meals to go, and we usually order the orange chicken,and it was big balls of chicken but , some fat was in it. There's nothing worse then bitting in to a ball of fat. But all else good. They give you alot of the sause, its not already mixed. Some of the meat is fatty i do have to say, and i hope the owners read their reviews and hopefully change what they are doing, because no one wants to eat pieces of hard fat. Thats just gross. I order the shrimp fried rice with 4 egg rolls for my family and its very good. Sweet and sour chicken also very good. So, really my complaint is the taste of the rice. No msg??? we will never know unless we ask huh? well they are what we are having for dinner tonight:-) ive been craving chinese and they are the closest to us only 3 blocks or less. awesome!!! i do have to say they are cheap, and they give alot of food thats the best. the fried dough,and powdered sugar, if u order that i suggest you eat it fresh and not have it delieverd, it gets hard fast. i just asked and no they do not make the food with msg at all!! thats why it doesnt have that real chinese taste to it. which is good. we will be full and not want more 10 minutes later as they say..haha oh also a menu would so be helpful on the site if they could find anyway of doing that , it would be awesome. good eatting! enjoy! When I am sick, I get a large Hot and Sour Soup from them as it is so spicy it kicks the cold out of me. Forget Grandma's chicken soup, get this stuff! They are so good with making food to people diets and it is so fresh and the meat is so lean. It is the best place I have found in a long time. read more
