It is so exceptional because it is finally an ACTUAL sushi place in the Illinois Valley - it is not exceptional sushi but it is good, very good, and nothing like to what people around here are used to at the Chinese Buffets. Most of the rolls are cooked and it seems the crab might be imitation but it is worthy enough to satisfy my craving for sushi! The Chinese food is also good - I tried a sample. Spring Rolls were excellent. I have been here a few times for sushi and I have like everything I have had. My bill was less and I had a higher service charge than my friends who's bill was higher- no rhyme or reason. When confronted they said read the rules but would not point out where the rules were located to show us. Scammers!!! Be aware if you use credit card its an additional upcharge as well. We opted for ordering from the menu which comes with appetizers. When inquired about gluten free options, the staff explained clearly what could be gluten free. When the food arrived, we were quite impressed that they do take allergen seriously. The put a gluten free indicator on the dish to make sure it was clearly marked. In term of the taste, they were delicious. I particularly like the soup, it was flavorful, and definitely good for a cold day!
