Dragon City is my go to Chinese restaurant here in Ottawa! Quality and quantity is always great!

Chinese restaurants aren't good in Ottawa, but this one is the best. It's nothing at all special but it works. Dragon City is cheap and it's food. Prices are kind of high. They thankfully do give you a lot. About the only way to order is carryout. It might offer delivery but not sure about it. There for sure is no indoor dining though. Came in recently and placed an order. We got the General Tso's Tofu. It's about $13 for the only portion, which didn't even look like it was that big. This seems a high price for this kind of place. It was cooked long enough. Too long. Crunchy tofu hard to chew. This did have some pretty hot flavor and there was a good mix of broccoli and other vegetables that made this a full meal. Good if looking for cheap Chinese. It's better than it looks. They may overcook it but oh well. read more

I used to order from here all the time but this is the last time. The shrimp I ordered tasted weird. Also the sweet and sour chicken and crab Rangoon were hard and tasted gross. I was very sick after eating g the food and everything that was left over got thrown in the garbage. I'm sad that this place has gone downhill. read more

Very poor service! Gone downhill in the past few years. Don't waste your money. Go down the road a few miles to China Buffet by Thorntons. Placed an order to go a very simple request. 1 Small Beef Fried Rice and Crispy Noodles. I entered to see forks uncovered in a dirty tray, along with another tray of sauces. Based on the photos on their website, and pictures on the window of their restaurant I was surprised by what I received. The Fried Rice no longer has vegetables at all... just rice, meat, and onions. If I would have known my food would not look like the photos they advertise, I would have saved my $8! read more

I have literally never had a good experience with the employees. That being said, I keep going back for the food. Best egg fooyoung in town, also mooshoo pork, and crispy delicate jumbo fried shrimp. I order to mains and an appetizer and feed 4 adults easily. read more

An easy to miss hole in the wall restaurant in a strip mall that is mainly delivery and pickup. Has both Mandarin and Cantonese dishes. Eat the Singapore Mei Fun. This is a chicken and shrimp curry noodle dish with a kick. I've been to Chinatown and feel the food at this restaurant holds up. I found service courteous. I strongly recommend. I do love Chinese food. And Dragon City has some pretty delightful food I must say. I don't usually stray to often from my usual at Chinese places. I know what I like and I am fine with that, whatever. So I had Sesame Chicken, Crab Rangoon, and my friend that ordered the food was kind enough to order a vegetable Egg Roll. Oh my god gang this food was boss. My mouth is watering thinking about the food. I mean I guess I like my Crab Rangoon heavy on the cream cheese so these were perfection. Also the Sesame Chicken was on the sweeter side which I am a super fan of. It was a carry out order so I really can't comment on atmosphere but the food, friends you should definitely try this place out. read more

Called to place a delivery order and the guy who answered the phone acted like I was annoying him asking a question about the menu. He mumbled under his breath and was disrespectful. Fix your washroom. Put a barrier between the kitchen and the front counter. It looks like a garage sale in the back. Also, don't be arguing in front of the customers. Especially in a different language. Customers want to see a clean place, everything working(it looks like you are a lazy business if the washroom is always out of order), change out stained ceiling tiles, etc. The son seems to be very busy and efficient. Ottawa is fortunate to have several Chinese restaurants to choose from; I would pick Dragon City as my overall favorite, though. They have my favorite General Tso's chicken in town as well as my favorite beef lo mein and hot & sour soup. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is their dining area leaves something to be desired; since they only have canned and bottled beverages, you won't get any free refills here. Carryout and delivery are both excellent here, since they usually have local kids who speak English taking the orders, which helps immensely. You can't beat their prices, either, especially on the lunch specials. If you like Chinese food at all and you're in Ottawa, definitely give them a try... read more

My friend recently had food from here and found egg shells in her food which is absolutely unacceptable and should either be refunded or made a new one for free which I doubt they did either one. The next thing is that she then got terribly sick. Possibly food poisoning. I also found a hair in my food and wanted a redid which they refused. People are friendly there. Always start with something positive. It was my first time at Dragon City. It is also my last. I ordered 3 lunch orders today. The sesame chicken was soooooo dry. It was unremarkable. It wasn't that sweet and more salty, if anything. The fried rice was also dry, dry, dry. And salty. And egg rolls, no thank you. At least the other Chinese restaurant downtown let's you pick between 3-4 different choices. Hong Kong roll at the other Chinese place is awesome. I digress. The shrimp in lobster sauce had 4 pieces of shrimp. And then it was in this globular clear liquid that was soooo not appetizing and didn't remotely taste anything like lobster. I wasn't expecting much but it didn't even reach *that* low of expectation. And the coconut chicken? It's in this weird white opaque sauce that looks like and tastes like mayonnaise. I didn't get any hint of coconut from it. Needless to say lunch was not so good. Boo. At least it came with soda. The sodas were good in the ice cream floats I made. read more
