This is my favorite place for Mexican seafood. They will make it for you in any Mexican style, Yucatán, Veracruz, pacific coastal area, and so on. The dishes are well prepared and the starters are also equally good. They have a full bar and their drinks are awesome on their own! The restaurant is a bit divey; bathrooms are old and not in the best shape, but they were clean. There is a storage issue and they have boxes of beer stacked in the walkway to the bathrooms. At times the music will come on and conversation is difficult. The music is loud. One time I visited they had a mariachi band that played as if they were in a plaza. It was very loud and no one could hear each other. The servers were friendly and attentive but they did mess up the charges, again. For some reason they never split the bill correctly. Honestly I will still come here. They make great food and I don't care how old the bathroom is. Also, sometimes talking is overrated. Come check these guys out. They make a mean molcajete too and their 7 seas soup is pure heaven. read more

Very pretty restaurant, you can tell they spent a fair amount of money on the decorations. Food was good although the service was terrible. Sauces brought to table were not described & my friend thought was a mango salsa was actually a habanero salsa along with a jalapeño salsa. Asked for water & was given 1 with ice,1 without & a lime. Had to ask for straws. Asked about what alcoholic beverages they served & was td to.look at sign 100 ft from where we were sitting. At end of dinner asked for the check & a gratuity was added automatically. When we asked for a menu to verify this it states on the menu 18% gratuity added for adult parties of 4 or more. There were 3 of us. Many excuses were made for the gratuity, the sub-par service, & in general the whole experience. I will not be back. read more

Stepping out of the vehicle you can already smell warm inviting food. You open the doors and are greeted by little boat replicas everywhere, a minibar at the corner, and very warm-hearted staff. The place is lively with music and people talking(mostly in Spanish mostly). The aroma of avocado and savory seafood fills the air, hearty laughter killing any awkward silence, I know this restaurant will be one of my favorites. -Service The waitresses were very inviting, we started off by ordering drinks. Why have coke when you could be drinking fun Mexican beverages? The plates are all in Spanish, but are translated into English; have fun trying to pronounce them. Our table is set with appetizers such as ceviche, tostadas, and saltine crackers. The waitresses are really fast and you're food is ready in about 10-15 minutes. Everything is freshly made, the seafood was excellent and I'm getting hungry just writing this review. The Restaurant has some really good pricing for seafood, it can be expensive if you don't watch what you order, but the portion sizes are really big! I really enjoyed my time there and I'm definitely coming back. -THE FOOD I ordered two dishes and I was really happy with the quality! I ordered; Caldo 7 Mares( 7 Seas Soup), and Cola de langosta rellena(Filled Lobster tail). The soup was really hot, but it was filled with to the brim with shrimp, crab, octopus, fish, scallops, and muscles. The meatiness of the seafood was very pleasant, and the octopus was my favorite. It was very tender and delicious. It is a little messy because it's a big bowl, so if you're looking for something more manageable order the filled lobster tail. The creaminess of the shredded lobster was absolutely stunningly good! The sauce also had a hint of chipotle so it really added an interesting but delightful flavor! Overall really good food, I couldn't finish it all and took it home. -A little critique The restaurant had a really good ambiance to its name, but the restaurant's location doesn't look very beautiful. If the windows could be tinted and the lighting darkened with red bulbs, it could be interpreted like the inside of a ship, it would work out very well. Other than that everything else was absolutely perfect. You can't really put critique staff, because everyone has their bad days. You can't rate a human being because people are always changing. At the end of it all, I really enjoyed my time there, and I'm definitely coming back. This place is nice and small, can get loud and crowded really fast. They have live Mariachi Band Friday's. They start you off with cevich and a green sauce be careful the sauce it's very very spicy. (They really should tell you but they don't) I learned the hard way. The price is normal usually at market price but it's fair. I have gotten the relleno de langosta twice- (stuffed Lobster) it has scallops,octopus,shrimp and a lobster tail- all mixed in a cream based sauce that's mild spicy. The kind of spicy you can sense but not off putting. I'm not a person that likes seafood and this is my favorite dish! It also comes with rice,salad, fries. The plate is huge, you will definitely have leftovers. Wow! Recommend to eat here from a contractor. Went on a Sunday night. The place was packed. A bunch of cars surrounding the place. We found a table inside and our server was excellent. He spoke excellent English and was very helpful explaining all the different dishes. He came back to the table several times to make sure we were enjoying our food. My wife and son got the Red Snapper and I had crawfish. Both dishes were unique but excellent! I suggest Guy Fieri from Diners, Drive Inns and Dives should do a show from this place. I have a family of 5 and I ordered the charola mix which I was told over the phone would feed 4-5 people. Now we don't eat alot but this platter for "4-5" people is a joke. It was extremely small and it wasn't even filled to the top and for $58 I expected allot more. I would grade this 3 1/2 if I could... I'm not going to say I didn't like the food because I did. The servers were very nice and helpful. They have a mariachi band on Friday nights and it's PRETTY loud. I couldn't hold a conversation. So, don't go on Friday nights if you plan on catching up with friends. Like everyone else said, they serve free fish ceviche with tostadas and crackers. It's pretty good. I've had their jumbo shrimps wrapped in bacon. These are pretty good if you like bacon. I found it a bit difficult to eat because the bacon was pretty hard but the shrimp was on point. Their empanadas are.... mehhh. There's just ground up shrimp inside.. I didn't like it, personally. But when I put a bunch of the free salsa they gave it was better. I had their charola de longastinos.. Shrimp cut in half; Nayarit style. It was pretty good but I had to question the freshness of the shrimp a little because it wasn't as firm as fresh shrimp should be. But because it was topped with a butter sauce that I couldn't resist, I ate the whole thing. I also had their shrimp cocktail. It was too sweet for my liking, personally. I added a lot of hot sauce to kind of balance it out in the end. I LIKE this place but I've eaten at so many Nayarit-style seafood places that this place is just mediocre. The pricing is also a bit high from other restaurants I've been to as well. They are open late compared to the other restaurants so if I had to go there I would.. I was disappointed in a few aspects about the restaurant but not with the service. The non alcoholic options were few and no refills. To my dismay I ordered a chicken fajita meal and it came with no beans and they had no flour tortillas. Unheard of for me as I am a Texas born Mexican raised all my life in Chicago with some years in the Joliet area. No necessary utensils came with my son's seafood meal and almost impossible to extract the crab legs meat . It was a total mess with few napkins made available. I am really not interested in returning but I wouldn't advise anyone against giving it a shot. The people were friendly but we were the only ones in there at dinner time. read more

Came here with 10 friend on Saturday night. We ordered 4 of the most popular dishes (took our waitress' advice). All of the food was delicious. The soup of seven seas was full of seafood and came in a huge bowl, almost impossible for someone to finish it on his/her own. Very good octopus, that's cooked in garlic and perhaps a little butter. Amount of tentacles weren't skimpy for the $13 price tag and you'll definitely be comfortably full at the end. My carry-out container consisted of a generous portion of rice, lime, cucumber salad, and some tostada shells. Went here for lunch yesterday with my girlfriend, we we're looking for tacos and almost left when we saw the menu had nothing from your typical "Mexican" restaurant but we we're hungry and the food on everyone's tables looked amazing. We were greeted with ceviche and after looking at the menu for a while decided on the paella and one of the chefs spicy specials. The way they cook the octopus here is amazing. This place is so good, everything is unbelievable delicious. Sure, the neighborhood is not the most "scenic" but they have their own parking lot and the food alone makes up for the location. Sit yourself and you are immediately greeted with a basket of tostadas and a (free) generous sampling of their delicious ceviche. My husband loves to order the whole deep fried fish covered in crispy fried garlic and I love their filet a la marinera (fish fillet topped with shrimp and octopus and a delicious langoustine sauce). Generous portions on anything you order but always ask about the spicy level, some things are just right but other stuff will knock your socks off! Our waitress was a young girl very friendly professional and fast service. I'm not from the area, but I will definitely recommend this place to anyone I know who is coming here.
