How does this place have 4.5 stars??? I had the fried chicken with bacon and cheese on a biscuit smothered in gravy and a side of cheese grits that had zero salt. You have to salt the water when you cook grits. The only good item was the gravy. The bacon was soggy and too salty to enjoy. The chicken was dry as a bone and the biscuits were crazy small and hard. The server was nice but seemed too busy to handle the amount of tables she was responsible for. The decor was cute, im not a fan of the AI generated menus because it makes the food look like cartoons and it doesnt look anything like the actual food. Decided to go out for Friday breakfast. At 8:30am there was alot of parking spaces open. There was no wait and sat down right away. Water was brought to the table and coffee. On the menu for their march special was the hot honey chicken and waffles. It also came with a side of hashbrown or house potatoes. Had to change brunch plans and go for somewhere closer to our hotel and we came across Bee Bros. We were seated easily and we were delighted by the bright and airy atmosphere with lots of sunny yellow and of course, bee decor. The menu was overwhelming with so many options. I got a vegetable omelet with fruit and pumpkin pancakes, and my friends the 2x2x2 with a side of hash browns and the eggs Benedict. Our server was lightning fast with our drinks and order- I don't think he ever slowed down! My omelet was good but definitely needed hot sauce. My pancakes were the absolute star- so pumpkin forward without just being "pumpkin spice" --I like to taste the pumpkin itself! The spiced honey butter was a fantastic touch and I could not believe how good they were. My friend said her scrambled eggs were perfect and loved her bacon, cakes, and hash browns. The verdict on the Benedict was ambivalent-- unfortunately one poached egg was way overcooked so we had to ask for another and he did not love the hollandaise. I was in the area and was looking for a local place to enjoy brunch on a Saturday. Consulting Yelp, I found this place was nearby to where I was. After getting through some construction in the area, I found this place. Walking in, I had feeling like I was going into someone's home.....cheery signs greeted me in a brightly lit area (lots of windows here). I was seated right away, and soon enough my order was taken. I opted for a skirt steak skillet and instead of toast, I went for a honey biscuit. Soon after, my order came and it was really good. The skillet was nice and hot and the muffin was warmed. The bonus was the honey butter for the muffin which hit the spot. For my drink (since it was really hot outside), I went for an iced coffee. I loved it as they served it in a cup shaped like a Mason Jar. All in all this was a great meal in a place that made you feel at home. The waitress was very friendly and helpful and the food was top-notch. This is definitely a place I will go to again if ever in the area. Stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Very busy inside but we were quickly seated. Waitress arrived just after being seated took drink orders, coffee served hot and they have a server topping off when getting low. I ordered the country skillet with a biscuit. BEE SAFE We were headed to Starved Rock and very hungry after leaving Chicago at 6am. We definitely needed some breakfast. You never want to go to a place called Starved Rock on an empty belly. We found this great breakfast place on Yelp. We had a few things we were looking for to BEE safe including outdoor dinning. This place has a huge tent set up in their parking lot with about 30 tables outside. Most of the tables are under the large tent. There's a few picnic tables outside the tent if you're looking for some sun. We arrived when they first opened. The menu was really big. The best part was that lunch and breakfast were available all day. This is helpful when you child isn't a breakfast with eggs kind of person. I saw some Nashville chicken sliders with fries and soup on their online menu but it wasn't on their regular menu. This would be perfect for my savory child. I showed the waitress the photo and she told me it was a special. She then went to ask the kitchen if they could make it and they said yes. Bonus points will BEE handed out to the kitchen staff. My wife and I wanted breakfast. My wife wanted the Ironman skillet she saw on line but we learned that it was not on the menu anymore. She was able to get an egg white omelette with fresh veggies which was similar. It was nice to see they actually used fresh mushrooms. The omelette was big and fluffy. We asked to have our hash browns crispy but they came out regular. Obviously the kitchen doesn't know us when it comes to making crispy hash browns. I'm an Eggs Benny snob. I truly like them made traditional. This place had about ten different combinations. I checked them all out and still went traditional. This place does not skimp on the hollandaise sauce. Damn! The eggs were nice and runny too. I was a little sad that one yolk arrived popped. It was clearly running by the time it hit the table. Chef thought I wouldn't see that with all of the sauce over the top. The side of pancakes were really good. The only problem was the syrup. As soon as we poured it we got a visit by an annoying BEE. I'm not sure if he's hired by the restaurant. It could BEE a theme here. He then decided to buzz the Nashville chicken slider which is not a good move because our child doesn't like BEES. This created a little breakfast anxiety. I'd recommend this place for breakfast. They have a lot of selections to choose from. The waitress was very sweet and accommodating. They deliver a simple breakfast that's tasty and well done. The best part is the outdoor dinning under the tent. Ahhh YUMMMMM!! We picked up breakfast from here this morning and everything was to die for! We needed a new breakfast place since Eggs Incorporated closed across the street from us. Their website was a bit confusing when placing our order. I got a Bananas Foster Waffle and it's is asking if I wanted to add bananas and a whole bunch of other options?
