AMAZING!!! Best pizza I had in a long time. Reminded me of the pizza I had in Rome. It was amazing. Very friendly staff. I had a 13 inch Remo and wife had the Spartaco. Just amazing. It was light, not like your regular pizza and very tasty. Had to have the tiramisu and wife had a Gelato cake. Winner! The tiramisu was light and fluffy was the best I had. The Gelato cake was like a chocolate lava cake without the lava. If we live in Bloomington, we would probably come eat here daily. We will definitely come back next time we visit. My boyfriend and I were here for the first time tonight and really enjoyed it! It's so cute inside and we each got a small pizza. I got the number nine and he got the number 10 and his was good but mine was even better! I love the cross. The toppings are so fresh and delicious and then we topped it off with a delightful tiramisu. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and helped us navigate the menu when we got there since it was our first time. I have to give good stars for a newer restau offering a full vegan offering!! Many thanks! I went with the Ben Hur and subbed vegan mozz and added vegan sausage. I asked and confirmed it is not Impossible nor Beyond brand, but a proprietary blend per the employee. The sausage was superb. The mozz like many vegan cheeses devolved but it was still a great vegan effort and I am grateful. The pesto I presume was plant based because she said they withheld the parm that normally comes in it. Suoerb friendly service and such a darling decor. I absolutely loved my dining experiences at the Original Pinsaria in Bloomington. Each pizza I ordered during two back-to-back visits were phenomenal. Fresh ingredients topped one of the best pizza crusts I've ever had. And what made my day was that everything I ordered was vegan. No issues trying to negotiating my order to get substitutions, they have several vegan options on their menu. Just an outstanding experience from head to toe. My first experience was so great, I brought five friends back in with me the next day for dinner. Everyone loved their order. If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out. I haven't found a better pizza place in Bloomington/Normal. The Original Pinsaria is simply great. Great service, great food and great (and very, very clean) interior. As far as pizza places go, this one is by far the best pizza in town. This local spot hits it out of the park regarding quality of the food. It's organic, authentic, and doesn't have the taste of processed. Chris rocks as he was super attentive in making sure we had a good experience as it was our first time there. I was very disappointed that this highly rated by Yelp peeps pizza place was not what I expected. First of all, let me say that the gentleman who took care of us was extremely gracious and willing to do whatever he needed to for us to be happy. I didn't feel that there was anything he could do. First of all, you order at the counter. We thought they would bring our order which eventually they did but i guess we were supposed to ho pick it up at the counter. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. It was in two pizza boxes and the salad in a plastic container. I mentioned we were eating in and she said this is how they serve. No paper dishes. One plastic fork for the salad. I had to go ask for a second fork. We ordered two 8" pizzas and a salad. It was expensive for the amount of food. I had a plain pizza and it had very little toppings. My husband had pepperoni. The salad was very tasty but for $12 it should have been. It was small and really not enough for 2 people. We are visiting from out of town so that's good because this isn't a return to pizza spot. read more

The owner instead decided to cook a whole new set of pizzas just to make sure our experience was a great one and that we wouldn't be eating cold pizza. Ordered the 8" Romolo which is a Pepperoni and Mozzarella. The sauce had little taste and was lacking as the pizza was dry. They were also quite lean with Mozzarella cheese and the Pepperoni lacked flavor. The crust was very crispy, slightly burnt but tasty. I also had a salad - The Trastevere which was tasty but very very small for the price. It is not a place I would go back to. I'm giving a 3 but it probably should be a 2 1/2. read more

This place was so good, we went twice during our 3 day stay with family. Being a BloNo transplant who now lives up north in Chicago Suburbia - usually when I come home it's kind of the same rotation of places I go for food. This visit, however, differed as it was kind of a list I've been compiling for the last few months. Lucky for me, this place was as good as it sounded. In today's world, it is kind of hard to stand out when it comes to pizza. This place not only stands out, but also has a high standard of making sure customers are satisfied and the food is fresh. I have to keep reminding myself though, that it's not "pizza" but it's "Pinsa". Focusing on my first visit (the 2nd was just as good) we arrived right when they opened. Since there was no one else in there, we got the presentation on the difference in crust and methods. We ordered on the kiosk, which my social anxiety likes alot (!!), and then took a seat. A few later, the manager comes out with our food. Also letting us know that the trainees accidentally made the wrong sizes initially, and would we like to take those home as well? Well yes, we did. And that was so nice! We had sausage and pepperoni pinsa, a pepperoni pinsa, the Bruschetta, and the dessert pizza with oranges. Things I learned from this visit: make sure to select "oregano" or "red peppers" or any other spice you like on your "pizza" because if you don't, there isn't much! The crust indeed, was one of a kind. Light and crispy, but not at the same time. It's kind of hard to explain. I did not feel full or gross after eating, like you can with pizza sometimes. I don't like Bruschetta normally, but this version was great! Maybe it was the lack of cold cheese and the addition of giant fresh leaves of basil - I don't know. But it was fantastic. The dessert wasn't really our favorite, but it wasn't bad. Just not for us. All in all, if you're a pizza fanatic - make the switch to Pinsaria. It's worth it. Hoping you all come up to the Chicago Suburbs soon. read more

The food is amazing! The only thing we added was a balsamic glazed drizzle. The salads are huge. I forgot to take pictures before we started demolishing everything we recommended. They have a vegetarian menu as well. the pizza is perfection and it's got a perfect crust and the tomatoes have amazing flavors. We have tried the pasta yet, but we will next time. Today was technically my 2nd visit, my 1st was a day after they opened and I was hoping to buy some fresh made pasta to go with my 'Sunday gravy'. Since they don't really sell JUST the pasta noodles, the very kind manager just GAVE me 2 servings of the fusilli noodles they'd made within the hour. Their marketing savvy and kindness was only trumped by how unbelievable the pasta turned out to be! I vowed to go back soon. We just finished a dinner of their "Nero" pizza and a plate of fettuccine with the "Tevi" sauce, as a close approximation to classic 'cacio e pepe'. Now our only debate is which offering was more authentically delicious. And frankly it's a toss-up. The pasta is incredible. It's amazing the difference a light, fresh-made noodle makes and having a place that does so right here in BloNo is cool as hell. We added garlic and the Tevi sauce had the perfect amount of red pepper spice and really was brilliant, albeit just a bit heavy-handed. The pizza is as authentic as you will find. The brilliantly aerated crust is intentionally complimented with just a few high-quality ingredients. In our case prosciutto, kalamata olives and a balsamic glaze. Served whole to slice it up as u like. It's spectacular. We will definitely be keeping this neweast side gem on heavy rotation. read more
