Upon walking in, I was greeted. The decor and layout of this restaurant gave IHOP vibes just with a different color scheme. I asked to be sat on the patio because it was very cold inside. My waitress, Stephanie, was phenomenal. She was attentive but not over bearing. My meal was great. The omelette was packed with ingredients, the biscuit was fluffy, the butter was airy and whipped, but the hash browns were just plain. I don't even think they had simple salt/pepper on them. If you're looking for amazing food, excellent service and a clean welcoming environment then look no further than Egg N' Joe at San Tan Village in Gilbert. We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident after another place we had planned on going was closed. It turned out to be a very happy accident indeed! The food is fresh and delicious and we loved that they take pride in their ingredients and use mostly the fine ingredients from the Northwest - like Tillimook Cheese and real Idaho potatoes. They are also one of the few places that serves a ln authentic German style pancake which is a whole meal in itself! I loved their savory crepes stuffed with eggs, cheese and chunks of honey smoked ham and topped with a delicious creamy Hollandaise sauce. My wife loved their Dungeness Crab Benedict. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very clean and welcoming and has a modern diner vibe (minus the bar). Everything mentioned so far is more than enough reason to give it a try -- but there's more! The staff here is top notch. They aim to please with warm welcoming attitudes and punctual service. We were really impressed with our waitress Marci who went out of her way to make sure we were satisfied when my wife's hash-browns weren't as well done as she likes them. We also thought it was above and beyond how Marci actually took special care for the folks who needed it - to the point of sitting down at their table to make sure they felt heard. We have already been back a second time and experienced all the same positive aspects so we are confident it's the real deal. Excellent or should I say eggcelent! This place is fantastic. I had the bacon ranch breakfast. Eggs cooked perfectly, great hash browns, nice crispy bacon, and a delicious biscuit. Hubby had the northwestern blueberry pancakes. They were fluffy and delicious with fresh blueberries both inside and on top. This came with eggs and an additional side. Also the coffee , which we always have decaf, was very good (hard to find decent decaf coffee out). We will be back but will probably split something next time. My husband and I decided to have breakfast here yesterday. He had the Hungry Rancher Breakfast and I ordered the Denver Tillamook omelet. Frank M. was amazing! He greated us soon as we were seated at our table. Asked us what we wished to drink, returned "within seconds" with them. Gave us a few minutes to order and proceeded to return "within seconds" to take our order. We received our order and not only did the dishes look fantastic. It tasted phenomenal! Veggies in my omelet was tasty! Pancakes were fluffy and moist. I could tell my husband most definitely enjoyed his breakfast as well. He cleaned his whole plate and side of pancake. Even if he was starving and it wasn't to his liking...food would've been left behind. Egg N Joe you rock!!! Most definitely without a doubt. Always a great go to for good service and great food! Expect a wait on the weekends. They have an outside patio with heaters during cold mornings. I always get their fresh brewed iced tea and usually have the ranch breakfast, it consists of a generous portioin of eggs, potatoes (hashbrowns or country) and if you like your bacon crispy ask for it Marci style (excellent!). They're always willing to substitute a large pancake for toast. Good prices and they do show veterans love! It can be a little noisy inside and is family friendly. read more

I came here around 9am on a Saturday, they were completely packed but I waited, it was about a 45 min wait. Simple but clean decor. I ordered the crab eggs Benedict, the crab tasted really great and I loved their hollandaise sauce. Have to upgrade my review for this restaurant. Stoped in for a breakfast and had a great meal. Had the potato cakes with bacon and eggs. The bacon was thick sliced but the potato cakes were exceptional. At first glance your thought is, hey these are just hash browns. Once you dig in you will find onion, cheddar and bacon. Pretty good breakfast place! It's diner style and they have a pretty extensive menu. I got the veggie omelet with spinach tomatoes cheddar cheese and mushrooms. The omelets come with either hash browns, fruit, or pancakes. I got mine with fruit and it also came with a homemade biscuit. My friend got the strawberry compote crepe which she loved. They have crepes too with fresh strawberries. I'd love to try their French toast or eggs benedict next time. We were visiting Gilbert for an appointment nearby and decided to have breakfast at Egg N' Joe. We were seated promptly and I was impressed about how clean everything was from the tables and chairs to the menus and salt n pepper shakers. One of my peeves at restaurants is menus and condiment containers that don't get wiped down regularly. Service was fast and attentive even though they were busy. So far so good! The atmosphere is relaxed, there's music playing, and I can hear the staff joking in the kitchen. It's nice to be in a place where I know the staff are having fun. Speaking of the staff, they're so friendly! I am meeting my mom here for breakfast and everyone has been so nice so far! One thing I will say: there's not a mask in sight, so if that puts you off then maybe find another breakfast joint. So far I've ordered oj and coffee. The coffee is a little strong but the oj is delicious and very fresh. I got the potato pancakes with bacon, onion, and cheese, along with a side of eggs and bacon. It was delicious but huge! The place was clean, the staff friendly. Aaron our waiter was excellent. Our drinks never went dry. My chicken fried steak presented kinda of bland in appearance. It needed color. The flavor was amazing. My wife's egg was ordered over easy, but came over medium. The website gave prices that were dollars cheaper compared to the actual menu we were given. My mom and I decided to grab breakfast before a matinee movie and shopping. This place was near some of our shopping destinations so we decided to check it out! We arrived around 9:30 on a Saturday morning, and although the restaurant is quite large, the place was packed, and even on that very hot day, a few people had chosen to sit on their misted patio. There's not much of a waiting area as you enter so we had to sit outside where there were a couple of long benches and thankfully, one of them had an umbrella over it so we could have a little shade. It took 30 minutes for us to be seated, next time I will call ahead or check online to see if you can make a reservation. Our server was very busy, they were either shorthanded, or she just had many tables assigned to her because she was running the entire time, but she was attentive and friendly, and patient with us as we read the very expensive menu and tried to make our selections. I will say that many things on that menu sounded very delicious, and it really was hard to make a decision! My mom decided on the strawberry crepe meal which also included scrambled eggs and bacon. I chose the veggie and egg whites bowl and a pancake on the side. The bowl was very flavorful with hash brown potatoes on the bottom and lots of veggies, eggs, and cheese on top. I would definitely order this again. And I loved that I could have a pancake instead of the biscuit because mixing savory and sweet is my favorite way to have breakfast! Since there were so many options on the menu, I would love to come back again, although I suspect that I may go back to that egg white veggie bowl because it was so good! Warning if you visit the Gilbert location- Check your receipt before you pay. We were charged for a carafe of mimosa that we didn't order. When I realized this I called and was told I would get a refund but that never happened. The service also was terrible, no water or coffee refills. Never even asked if the food was good. Tried this place out for the first time and was pleasantly surprised! The wait for a saturday was 30 minutes. Pros- The Sun Devil Skillet was delicious! Extremely favorful and quite a large skillet. I took half home and even reheated with some tortilla it was still deliciious. The German pancake was HUGE we took half of this home as well. It tasted just like a crepe. Loved it. Also loved that "Happy Birthday" was playing in the restroom and a note that said to wash your hands to the entire song which is the recommended 20 secinds. Thought that was AWESOME! Cons- none! Our server was super sweet. We have a 15 month old who loves to eat and throw evwrything on the floor. Well of course this happened at the restaurant. It is so embarrassing, so my husband and I always grab some wet wipes and clean up the floor. Well it happened to be A TON so I asked the waitress for a broom to clean up after ourselves and she said don't even worry about it. That is what they're there for. First time here, and thought the food was pretty good. The potato cakes had great flavor and were cooked perfectly. Their bacon is delicious and they were very generous with meat in the omelette. Portions are huge and we saw most patrons leaving with to go boxes. Even late morning this location was packed so service was a bit slow and we didn't see our server more than a couple times. Seriously one of my most favorite breakfast/brunch spots. Their food is so delicious! Service is fabulous and friendly! The eggs benedict is a huge hit for me. My husband loves their German pancakes. I appreciate that unlike a lot of other breakfast places they partition off the eating areas from waiting guests. That can feel awkward like you're being stared at when you go to other breakfast locations. Can't wait for it to cool down so can utilize the patio again (for myself) but they have misters and so many enjoy outdoor seating year round. She did recommend the German Pancake and it was good. We had berries on it. I would have liked even with just powdered sugar. We are outside and I liked that also. It was a little chilly and they have heaters that they can angle to the table. Ok. The not so good stuff. Is basically all of the other foot we tried. My son had the burger and it looked like something you would pull out of freezer and warm up. My eggs benedict we're so soggy and I could not get over how it tasted. So did not eat it.
