I was excited that Eegee's was coming to the valley. Everytime I was in Tucson, I would grab one and my wife loved them from here time at UofA. We took the kids last Saturday 8/21. I figured after a month of being open, they would have had the kinks ironed out and it wouldn't be a zoo. Boy was I wrong. Upon arriving the drive through was wrapped around the building, but the dining room looked ok. We couldn't figure out how to park! They had cones and signs blocking entrances to their own parking lot trying to direct drive through traffic. It did not have the desired effect. Drive through customers were ignoring the signs. I finally got into the parking lot, leaving when I was done was an even bigger challenge. I finally got fed up and moved their signs so I could leave. I am surprised that the Town of Gilbert hasn't put a stop to this. Other fast food restaurants have figured out how to deal with long drive through lines, why can't Eegee's. Upon entering the dining room, there was one person working a register. It was unclear what was the line to order and the line to pickup. Once I got into the right line, there was a to-go order in front of me. The cashier disappeared to fulfill the to go order. They ordered 3 party packs which were ready, but couldn't find cups. She left taking orders to find cups. There where three people filling Eegee cups, one walking around like they were lost and a manager refilling the Eegee freezer and no cashier because she was trying to find cups. After over 5 minutes of waiting for my order to be taken, I called to the manager asking if someone could take orders. He said she was busy and would be back. Turned his back to me and went on with what he was doing. Meanwhile the line to place orders was at least 10 people. After I placed the order, the people filling the cups could not call the correct name. When I asked who the order was for, they told me a different name than they called. When I asked if it was for me, they said oh yeah. They were out of 8" bread at 5:30 on a Saturday. I would guess this is their most popular size. They wouldn't let you order an 8". They couldn't cut a 12 to be an 8. You had to order a 12 or a 5. I tried to bring this to Eegee's attention through their website. It has been a week since I submitted my concerns and have received no response. Since corporate failed to address my concerns, I decided to post publicly here. After a month of being open, this issues should be worked out. Staff needs training. All staff including the manager. Something needs to be done with the drive through even if that means staff is directing traffic. This visit was not what I was hoping when I heard they were coming to the valley. read more

Just okay. First disappointment was an incomplete menu. Expected to be able to order the normal eegees items but there was no pretzels, no hot dogs, no chili. Half the order for my family had to be changed because of this. No small cookie for the kids meal. Was specific about how I wanted the sandwiches made and 2 out of 3 were made incorrectly (order was to go, so no opportunity to get it corrected). Had to ask for cookie and cheese sauce that was left out of the bag. Sandwiches were good. Some people were friendly, some could work on there politeness. Unlikely to be back for anything but drinks (eegees) unless they add the full menu. We'll just go when in Tucson where they have the full menu and don't get my order wrong. read more

We ordered for a family of four and the line was fairly long but not too bad (about 10 cars deep). The frozen drinks are the main attraction. The food was okay. We generally liked it. The soft bread is very fresh. The crinkle cut fries are great. The meat and toppings are mediocre, about the same as Subway. The staff was very friendly but they seem overwhelmed. The sandwiches were not made as ordered (asked for plain sandwiches and they were loaded with toppings) but not the end of the world. I think once the wrinkles get ironed out it will be a decent sandwich shop in town. If management reads this my only other comment is that it was a little disturbing watching the staff dumping almost empty buckets of slushee into the new buckets, and the bottoms of the empty buckets were covered in patches of black gunk. Maybe it's totally normal but I wondered how much if that gunk was falling into the new bucket. Just as a suggestion you might want to do that out of sight of customers (if you're even supposed to mix old product with fresh product at all). This restaurant is off to a rocky start but they will figure it out. If they can get it dialed in, it has potential to be good beyond just the UofA Tucson nostalgia crowd. read more

People there are very unprofessional. Had no effort what so ever in things! I would not recommend eating there. Food was nasty the frozen drinks were worse part of it never would get one again. But everyone working tonight was unprofessional massing around, taking their time to get with a customer. We heard great things about eegee's prior to visiting this establishment today. Unfortunately we did not have that same experience. While we were in the drive thru we looked at the online menu and everything looked delicious and we were excited. We got strawberry eegee which was quite tasty! It's sugary but it's still a nice beverage to indulge in. We paired it with some cheesy bacon fries which were good since we were so hungry but the cheese and bacon were simply tossed on. I expected the cheese to at least be melted. Lastly and most important, the sandwiches we got were SOILED. SOGGY. They were sooo drenched in what I'm guessing was some sort of italian dressing that when we went to pick up the bag to exit our car, the bottom of the bag started to rip!! I thought maybe it would just be that side of the sandwich that was soiled but when we opened it, the WHOLE sandwich was soggy. We both got 12' sandwiches but could not bear to eat more than half. I am from Tucson and go to asu now Iv been waiting to find time to drive to Gilbert to go the the place Iv been deprived of since I started college I was so excited but so disappointed. The service was ridiculously slow they forgot my ranch at the drive thru at any other place I would of just of been like whatever I have ranch at home but part of the eegees experience is ranch so I had to park and walk in and wait in that line. So 2 extremely slow lines later I get home to my sandwich being wrong I asked for extra Mayo and there was barely any they did remember to not add tomatoes. BIG FAN OF EEGEES!! Been waiting for them to open one here for for 21 years!! Went there today and although there was a long line inside (you have to eat it there while the fries are hot!), it moved at an acceptable pace. Although it was busy and the drive-thru line was long, the food was perfect! Just as expected!! I had the tuna on whole wheat and hubs had the original grinder and we both had fries! Nothing like it! It was my first time going to eegee's. Finally a place that knows what a grinder is. I grew up in Connecticut and we had grinders and hero's no subs. Outside of the Northeast when I'd order a grinder they would look at me and say "What is a grinder"? The only difference is the bread. The white bread you use is very heavy. I go to various Tucson locations and always love it. I have had my worst eegees experience to date here. Waited 30 mins in the drive through (it was the lunch rush understandable), lady taking my order doesn't understand half of the things I'm saying, and then once we get our food we're missing food items. Couldn't even get into the parking lot with the drive thru so I had to park in a neighboring restaurant and walk back over. Waited for my missing items and got back to my car to see they neglected to give utensils. Had to go back in again. There were so many staff members there, it's hard to believe that orders were coming out wrong. Had to get in a line of people trying to get their orders corrected. Not worth the trip or the wait. Will not be back and will be sticking to the locations in Tucson. Very disappointed. read more

I grew up in Tucson and was so excited to finally get an Eggees in town. But I am very disappointed. The food is still as I remember but the WAIT is sooooo long! I have been 10 plus times to this location. I have even gone when there was no one in the drive thru. But regardless of what time I go it takes forever to actually get my food. I'm not sure if it's the culture management has set but there is no hustle going on at this location. Everyone takes their sweet time. It I was waaayyyy toooooo looooong. Once I got to the window I still had to wait. Many employees in the store that appeared to be doing nothing but screwing around. After seeing all the hype about this restaurant in Gilbert I figured I would give it a try and so at around 5 o'clock on a Thursday there was 2 cars in line so I figured that today was they day. I can now see why the hype was over. Had to repeat my order multiple times and the person taking it couldn't get it right, then when I got my food the fries were soggy and the sandwich bread was sticking to the wrapper and was kind of stale tasting. Lol - the worst customer service experience I have ever had at a drive thru, hands down. Honestly, I'm laughing in my car right now because I can't really believe it. Let's be real - Eegee's has a limited menu - which should be a good thing in terms of efficiency. However, when I pulled up there were two cars in front of me. After placing my order, I pulled around and waited in line for TWENTY minutes. I was waiting in the drive thru line for so long that the lady in the car in front of me actually got out of her car and walked up to the drive thru window to see what was taking so long. Needless to say, by the time she got up to the drive thru window she wasn't happy. She got a drink and pulled away. And by the time I pulled up I got a shitty apology for the wait time from the staff - and when I asked if my order was even ready I got an eye roll and a "yah it's ready" - and I promptly pulled away without paying or taking any food. The staff here is abominable. The efficiency was pure garbage. I am honestly appalled by the whole thing. Will never go back and I'd advise everyone to eat ANYWHERE else. read more
