What has happened to Eegees? I grew up in Tucson, too bad the new owners have completely ruined the slushes. My immediate response was " did we get a diet version?" No longer is the strawberry a little tart, no real fruit, straight artificial taste! It hit with the very first spoonful! Pure corporate greed trying to save money! I googled it, its a common complaint. First thing that came up was the artificial taste..Do better new owners, taste was terrible, nothing like the original! This was pretty good! I decided to stop by after work to get a quick snack, and I ordered the chicken tenders because I was mucu hungrier than I thought. I didn't have a chance to go through their drink menu, so I just ordered a Dr. Pepper. The service was good and quick, but they might need to get their speaker box fixed as it was hard to hear them. We have to eegee's and this was the worst experience. The lettuce was brown and had a bad taste to it. I took it back to the counter and they made us a new one with not lettuce. This time the bread was stall and they put no turkey on it. It was mayo, lettuce and pickles. I just threw it away and left. I used to love eegees but not anymore. I have been coming here non stop once a week for the past month because I just recently became obsessed with their frozen eeges. Jungle juice has been the flavor of the month and omg its delicious! I ended up downloading the app for rewards and I have already been gifted some good coupons and a few items for free. The bacon ranch fries are really good! The fries are hot and crispy and they make sure to load them up. I have only been thru the drive through and the employees have always been friendly. Service has also been fast. I'm giving the date and times because I want to recognize the order taker/window guy. He has a great friendly and helpful attitude. I work in the service industry and he's an example of excellent service. I ordered an Original Grinder and it was delicious and large for the price. So I moved to Tucson back in the 1990's and got indoctrinated to Eegees then. What was not to love? Fabulous sandwiches, great sauces, and that fabulous Eegees drink that not only had it's standard flavors, but every month you got to experience an Eegee of the month. November was always the favorite with Cherry Cider, something you looked forward to all year!! After moving to the Phoenix area, every time I was in Tucson...it was a standard top priority to get a fix, so imagine how excited we were when they opened in Casa Grande! We made many trips from Chandler to C.G. just for a picnic of Eegees. Then they sold...but everything coming from the new company said no changes, just expansion. We gave the Baseline-Mesa store two times and the newer Val Vista store one try. I'm so devastated to report, we will not return and the Eegee's of our memories will stay just there. Went to Mesa location today for lunch. $32 later for two whole subs (they don't offer 6, 8, or 12 inch any longer...just whole and half). We ordered combos both with fries (which is supposed to come with one ranch dressing per order) and our beloved Cherry Cider flavor of the month! I also asked for two house dressings (now they are .35 each...used to be free) and two additional ranch dressings (now .35 each...used to be free). First, had to return the receipt to prove that I had paid for a medium Eegee because he wanted to charge me again (he actually started to argue with me about not being charged for one); next, we had to go into the store (we did the drive through) because we didn't get the two extra ranch dressings that we paid for. The food just isn't what it used to be...the bread has an off flavor, the lettuce on both sandwiches had some slimy pieces in it (so we removed it totally), and the Cherry Cider...not at all the tart cherry cider flavor of yester-year...and I had one cherry in mine and we found three in the other one. I get that the company says no changes made and they stand by that, but as true Eegee groupies...it isn't the same. The bread is different, the ranch is different, and the Cherry Cider isn't the same either. I went back and forth between posting two or three stars mostly because of my nostalgia but decided to be true in my review and stick with two stars. We decided after today that Eegee's has become a memory of past and will move on to other sandwich places that serve way better food and have way better customer service. read more

Let me start by saying that, I've never heard of this establishment until driving from my yoga class feeling slightly parched and needing something sweet to drink. I just happened to be stuck in the nightmare road construction in front of eeges and decided to pull over to quinch my thirst. It reminds me of a subway and sonic combined into one. It's very colorful and stands out which is nice! Once the construction is complete, it will be booming, I'm sure! I got the pina colada eeges which was !!! Sheesh ...I took one sip and couldn't stop. I got the kid a Turkey kids meal with a lemonade and the kid loved it... it was actually a nice size portion for a kids meal but they could've tossed in a few more fries to make it worth the price. I did notice that it didn't come with a toy or prize which was kinda disappointing for the kid. The fries needed more seasoning but I suppose it was seasoned perfect for kids. I recommend stopping here for a meal and eeges drink...The pina colada alone, is worth the visit. ( Slushy drink) As usual, plenty of free parking. Close to the highway and next to coffee and gas. It was hot outside and I had a busy day. Today feels like a slushie day I thought. Plus, there was a drive thru so that made it an easy decision to try Eegee's. I've had them before in Tucson but wasn't too amazed but I figured I'd give it a go a second time and get something different. Instead of one of their tea drinks I got their standard Eegee slushie, half lemon and half strawberry. The drive thru line was fairly long, as was the wait. My order was just 3 drinks but it still took a while to get it. So much for a quick drive thru experience! Out of the two flavors I liked the strawberry the best. It was sweet, refreshing and the seeds in it made it seem like there was fresh strawberries in it. I didn't really like the lemon. It had a strange aftertaste to me. I also tried the banana flavor of the month It had a very artificial banana taste. As for cost, the price is right! Three small Eegees were a little over $8 so for a little under $2 for a slushie it's not bad for what you get I suppose. read more

FINALLY!!!!! The Eegee's in Gilbert is officially open! No need to make that long drive to Tucson anymore. I have been counting down the days until this location opened, so of course I had to come celebrate the grand opening (they did not disappoint). This Eegee's is located off of Baseline and Val Vista between the Circle K and the IHOP. The store is super clean and the vibrant colors are inviting. The employees were friendly and happy to see everyone. The subs at Eegee's are delicious but the true star of the show for me are the flavored drinks. Personally, I love to do the half and half with strawberry and whatever the current flavor of the month is. For July, the flavor of the month is WATERMELON! If you happen to be driving through Gilbert, stop by Eegee's and cool off from the 100+ degree summer heat with a delicious frozen drink. read more

Eegee's used to be a 2 hour drive away, but always loved going with friends every couple of months to either Casa Grande or Tucson. Still super excited to have them locally. Headed to give Eegee's a try after only being able to get them in Tucson for a long time. The location is a remodeled Arby's store so it is very well done. It's a sub sandwich and french fry place that has really good frozen ice drinks. Drive through services, were xtremely slow, definitely cost them one star, almost two. Friendly service. Always enjoy this place, the frozen egee's are a bit sweet for my taste but damn delicious on a hot day. My favorite is the pastrami add jalapeño. Unfortunately the past couple times I have gone to this location specifically and they can't seem to get my order right. I mean there's only so many items on the menu. Presentation has been sloppy and the bread and meat are cut with no care. The past 2 times I've ordered two grinders and they come out ice cold. Sadly, when I'm craving it now... This was my first time at an Eegees. They get a star right off the bat for the cool name(initials of founders I was told). I had a tasty pastrami sandwich and bacon/cheese ranch fries which was really tasty and a large amount for a low price. Their specialty eegee strawberry slushie was great, especially when it's oven temps outside. I was a walk in but they do have a nice drive thru. Manager Jamie was friendly, professional and I was out the door fast with a correctly fulfilled order during the busy lunch rush. read more

I've been going to Eegee's since the 80's and it's always been so consistent. I get a lemon eegee's every time and I love it. I moved to California years ago but whenever I visit Arizona my first stop is always Eegee's for a lemon Eegee's and original grinder. The last 2 times at this location the lemon Eegee's were different and didn't even taste lemony. Same issue at the Phoenix airport Eegee's. I asked the manager and they said they ran out of lemon rinds. If that's the case, don't make or sell it. It's an inferior product and poor quality control. I'm so disappointed as I don't get back here often. read more

Use the app! It is so easy and quick! I have placed multiple orders for party packs through the app and online and it has gone great. Party pack always has a couple different flavors depending on the week, but it serves a good amount of people and the price is not bad at all. This is the 3rd time or so that I visit and first time actually inside. We ordered and forgot to order cookie. The girl at the register left for awhile to help the back and I waited to pay for the cookie for quite awhile. She wasn't friendly, but that's ok I guess. The food was delicious and the ranch is on point! Thankfully it was correct this time. I had ordered a southwest salad last time and ended up with a Cobb. Doesn't take much to impress me at Eegees but wow was I impressed! The front cashier was so nice and the person putting my icee family pack together was extremely obsequious! Kaya was her name and she even tried to get me a free hat and said next time to ask for her. The other person also mentioned to me that they liked my shirt! This place reminded me exactly of the Tucson locations from when I went to school there at U of A! You can tell that the employees have a lot of fun working there. There should be a tip jar to put money in. These employees deserve a bump in there next check for being so great at the front. Will definitely be back! Had lunch here a few days ago at about 11:45 AM. The lady at the counter was helpful, very nice, and polite. The person who handed me my sandwich was also friendly and polite. The place was clean. I ordered the Spicy Grinder, whole ($10.99), and large fries ($3.29). The sandwich was excellent. Definitely worth the couple extra dollars over Subway's sandwiches. The fries were made to order, hot and crispy. Will definitely go back. If I had one small complaint, I would have liked the bread toasted. I was born in Tucson Sept 1979 around when and where Eegees was born. I have grown up with it and was super upset when my parents moved us to Mesa in the early 90's. I would take every opportunity to take a trip to Tucson to get my fix. Finally, one opened up down the street from me in Gilbert Arizona. The sandwiches are fresh and heavenly. All of them are good. I get mine toasted. They really load you up on pickles so if you aren't a fan, let them know. The pretzels and cheese are delish! The cheese and bacon fries are addicting. FINALLY - the Eegee itself is to die for thirst quenching fruity amazingness. Best go to is pina colada. Then strawberry. There seasonal monthly flavors are fantastic. Got addicted to Scary Berry.
