Yum! I lived in Tucson for a couple of years, and Eegee's is probably one of the only good things to come out of it. What is an Eegee? It's a delicious slushie with real fruit with a uniquely thick consistency.that's best enjoyed with a spoon over a straw. They offer strawberry, pina colada, lemon, and skinny berry year-round but also offer a rotating monthly flavor (most are great, but grape for September was a terrible choice IMO). Eegee's also offers sub sandwiches (the deluxe grinder is my favorite) and fries. Their ranch is also delicious so I would grab a couple of those for your side of fries if you want a real kick. The location itself was nice. The restaurant was large and very clean. We made the drive over from Scottsdale and it was well worth it for the Eegee alone. read more

When I was in college in Tucson in the late 80's, this place was great to hit anytime. I went to this one mistakenly and got the grinder and fries. Their version of spicey was to jam as many jalapeños into the bread as possible. Usually the spicy is with a spicy salami type like sopprasetta, etc. i also noticed while waiting customers who went through drive through coming back in to state they were given the wrong items or missing items from their orders which caused a serious backlog. I am so happy we finally have an eegee's in Gilbert! The best sub sandwich around. The house dressing and soft bread can't be beat! I had the pina colada eegee and it was such a treat! The drive thru line was wrapped around the building and beyond (as expected). We ended up going in, and the line was pretty long inside too, but it was well worth the wait! Staff was very friendly. Don't pass up trying eegees. I am shocked to see such bad reviews (due to the long wait times)... the place just opened and are overwhelmed. Cut them some slack people! I had never heard of eegee's before but had seen that it's been receiving plenty of hype so I decided to give it a try. Ended up waiting over an hour in the drive thru and I can say that the wait was most definitely not worth it. I ordered the original grinder and a watermelon eegee and both were extremely disappointing. The sub was mediocre at best - the bread was dense, overly chewy and extremely doughy, which I wasn't a big fan of, and the meat was light, which made that chewy bread feel that much more unpleasant to eat, as I didn't even want to finish it. Moving on to the eegee, that too was not good. It was extremely sweet and tasted very artificial. Overall, eegee's is definitely not deserving of such hype and it was a major letdown, especially when having to wait for upwards of an hour. I personally won't be back and I recommend looking elsewhere if you want a good sub and don't want to wait for something rather subpar. read more

I got the turkey and provolone grinder style with some fries. I couldn't forget to order an eegee's as well with strawberry and pina colada. The sandwich was very tasty. The fries have been better. This batch didn't seem as fresh. They forgot the spoon and straws again too otherwise they would've gotten 5 stars. I'll still order from them again. I think this is more nostalgic for Tucson people more than anything. It isnt bad, but its not as good as Tucson people say it is. Go in there with no expectations and you will love it. Made it during opening weekend, go early if you want to avoid a long wait! We came around 10:30 and waited about 30 min inside, our eegee's came out right away and but our food took about 30 minutes. My husbands cup had a hole in the bottom and they replaced his eegee entirely instead of just giving him another cup Manager was friendly and came to check on us while we were waiting for our food, super friendly staff and you can tell they are working well together while super busy. Can't wait for the newness to die down so we can make this a weekly spot for treats! read more

I stopped by this afternoon and there was no one in the drive through line which called for quick service! I didn't get any food, but got two drinks. First was a small fizz and second was a small pina colada eggie. The fizz was not bad, to me just tasted like a regular slushie, but pretty sweet. The pina colada eegie I was not a fan of. I really want to like eegee's but I feel like there's something missing. The slushies taste like they're loaded with sugar but they're not *that* great tasting so I end up feeling like I'm just 'wasting my calorie budget' by trying to convince myself the slushies are better than they are. The sandwiches are rather disappointing as well. When there's a million different sandwich shops in the valley, you really gotta bring your A-game and this ain't it chief. The sandwiches here are a step above the "grab-n-go" sandwiches at your local Fry's. They're certainly palatable, filling, and convenient, but I'd rather go to almost any other sandwich place if we're talking only sandwiches. The first time we went they were out of Pina Colada which was the whole reason we went, so we got the 'flavor of the month' and grape. The grape one was good, but it wasn't so good that I felt compelled to make this place a regular trip. I have no idea why their marketing says "signature ranch" as well. When we asked for ranch for our fries they handed us the standard ranch cups everyone knows from McDonalds, Burger King, etc. There is stippling on the label so it's almost impossible to read the ingredients, but when I finally managed to the ingredients were the exact same as these other places as well. Soybean oil, hydrogenated this, chemicals that. I have no idea what they're talking about with "signature ranch" because it not only tastes the same as everywhere else, but it has the same $#it chemicals in it too. So average sandwiches, fairly decent slushies, and a general feeling of sameness and run-of-the-mill menu items. I was so excited to see them comeback to the valley. The last time I was able to enjoy a lemon iced teegee was back in 1999 while I was visiting Tucson area...and then as far back as 1985-1987 when they were still in the valley on the westside. I finally decided to grab my favorite drink on Labor Day, think that a month and a half had passed and the lines should be less...well, not bad, about 9 cars deep for the drive thru; but they have the process down. I think I only waited about 15-20 mins. But I think most of the hang up are the customers that don't know what they want or paying attention to when the line moves. I look forward to other locations opening up, so it will ease up some of the crowd here. :) I will frequent regularly. read more

Prices are reasonable (I just get a sandwich) It's all about the deluxe grinder or the spicy if you need a little more sinus clearing power. I've been coming here about 1x/week as I work close. I feel like the bread is better than it used to be, they resolved the prior weakness of their sandwich. read more

First time at Eegee's. Over the thanksgiving weekend, we had a bunch of people show up and we didn't have a plan for lunch. Ordered 2- 3ft sandwiches online with a bunch of fries. I live on the lake a couple hundred yards from here and can't go here because of how painfully slow the drive-thru is. It's baffling how long it can take to put together such a simple menu. I haven't spent less than 15 minutes in the drive-thru line the handful of times I've gone there. Even with only one car ahead of me it will take at least 15 minutes. One time I had to hop the curb to get out of the line after sitting for 20 minutes and not moving (with four cars still ahead of me). How can Jimmy John's make a sub in about the same time it takes to place an order and you guys take 15 minutes? You have sandwiches, fries, and slushees. That's it!! The sandwiches are good. The exercise in incompetence in the drive-thru is laughably bad. read more

Saturday April 23rd 7:15pm Drove down from Scottsdale to grab a grinder and fries, such fond memories of eegee's growing up in Tucson through college and visiting about 5 times a year, never missed a stop for a grinder and fries. Unfortunately I was a little disappointed. The grinder was not as good, wimpy lettuce, Italian sauce was bland and the bread was thicker. The crinkle fries were cold and soft but you dip anything in that ranch and it will taste good. The staff was friendly but not even close to as friendly as my experiences in the old Pueblo, waited about 20 minutes for food, not sure if they were understaffed but it did not seems very busy. The guy cleaning up was very sweet. Strawberry lemon eegee was on spot but probably won't drive over here again and just wait till the next time I visit Tucson. read more

Went on a Thurs night, only 2 other customers eating inside. About 10 employees maybe more 2 were sitting down eating and others taking turns. Everyone else sitting around talking and saw one employee jumping on another one's back goofing off. One of the guest came up to get her order that they had to fix and she whispered to me and said you better check your order they'll mess it up. And she was righ. Ordered turkey and ham and only got turkey. Poor management of resources and staff training of proper professional behavior and customer service. Upper management should do spot check observations and then compare to In n Out to see how more professional and efficient their staff is and how nobody sits around. read more

I was so excited for eegee's to come to Phx but I was so disappointed with the service I received that I think I will just continue to get my eegee's fix when I am in Tucson. The new store is completely unorganized and simple can't handle the volume. Why wasn't this planned out better? Also there was a young lady there name Michelle that is completely inappropriate and needs an attitude adjustment. I watched her complained about her job ( with my over 30 mins wait for my online order) she tried to get other employees to do her job, rolled her eyes, cursed and made it completely obvious she hated her job and hated the customers. I've never been more excited for a store to open in my whole life. Eegees is such a sentimental thing for me and my family and we would drive 2+ hours just to get some every year! I've been to this place a few times within the past couple of months and the service is always a gamble. Last night I ordered a lemon eegee. After waiting 30+ minutes I received a mix of lemon and what seemed to be the piña colada. On top of it being not what I ordered half of it was filled with lemon peels. I gave this place a shot and waited a superfluous amount of time to even place my order, don't ever come here if your in a time crunch. After we finally got to the window I trusted them too much and didn't check the bag for the correct items like you would at a McDonald's... they didn't put my order of fries in there and they totally messed up the other order of fries that managed to make it into the bag. After tasting the eegee slushy I was actually confused at how bland it was! Why do people think the slushy here is worth the wait ?? A slushy at circle K has more flavor than the slushy at eegees. Yikes! This place needs help. Placed a pickup order on a weekday which said 12 minutes. We got there about 20 minutes later. The girl behind the counter was trying to console her sister who had come to visit. She was totally distracted. She gave us the 2 eegees, but not our sandwiches or fries. After waiting 10-15 minutes we asked if it was ready. The sandwiches were, but no fries. I'm the meantime, the manager came up to pull drawers, never said a word even though we had been standing there at least 30+ minutes. Someone finally came and asked what we were waiting for and we said fries, they walked to the back and got our fries. We waited 45 minutes!!! There were only 4 people in the restaurant and a few random drive thru orders, so they weren't busy. We loved eegees in Tucson, but they are losing their quality control quickly here in Phoenix.
