The service here was extremely slow. We came in and the restaurant was pretty empty but it took at least 15 min before a server even came to greet is or give us water. Our coffee cups were always empty and we had to call the server over for refills and we had been sitting there for 40 min before there was there was any sign of food. When the food came, it was not cooked right at all. We ordered burgers and rib eyes, both medium rare, and they came out well done. Didn't even want to waste any more of my life in this place so didn't bother calling over a manager. Will not becoming here again. read more

Lovely outdoor patio that is pet friendly. Staff are students at the college next door that has an excellent culinary program. The main chef is a graduate of the college. All run by Goodwill to help students acquire skills needed to enter workforce. The food was delicious and the wine selection was also very good. Highly recommend! read more

I took my Mother out to eat at Edgar's Grill in Augusta, Ga. last night. I dropped my Mom off and saw two gentlemen hurrying to the door to help her with her umbrella and rain coat, and the same courtesy was showe not only to me but everyone who walked in. What a grand surprise for the city of Augusta! I don't beleive there is a restaurant in Augusta that matches the overall dining experience. The staff was perfect and the food, Oh my Gosh! My pork chop was cooked to perfection, and who likes brussels sprouts..well I do now. My Mother had the tenderloin that was so tender you only needed a fork. We tried the salad and soup as well. The service was really nice, but the food wasn't worth the price. The mashed potatoes are very obviously boxed. The Mac and cheese was a little dry. I got the stuffed country fried chicken and it was a little burnt. Overall, for $250 for 4 people, it just wasn't worth it. (The prime rib was good, but that's it). read more

The menu is getting old. Needs refreshing. Fried green tomatoes had far too much breading that is tasteless. Would be improved if lighter and fried in bacon fat. The server was very friendly and helpful but the service was a little slow since they only had one server serving our party of 20 people. We went there for brunch and the food was very delicious. The crab cake salad was very fresh but the crab cake patties were pretty small. In fact, that was my impression for every dish that came out: the food tasted delicious and danced on my pallets but the portions were so small I felt like I had just eaten an appetizer. The shrimp and grits was very flavorful and creamy with a lot of shrimps but not as much grits. It'd be interesting to try their dinner to see if their portions for entrees are as small as those for brunch. read more

The chef here is AWESOME! The menu is solid with subtle changes in items monthly, it seems. The outdoor ambiance of this place makes me feel like I'm out of town. One of my favorite places to go when the weather isn't boiling hot. read more

The staff was great! The waitress was perfect! I spent my 21 birthday here and I didn't like one of the drinks and she didn't charge me! We got the lamb shank and cinnamon cheesecake. I've been there for dinner and brunch (before I got Yelp) and both experiences were great, as well as the food! The time I went for brunch, though, was interesting. I guess it's safe to assume the waiter was either in training or had just graduated from Helms and was a little nervous. I think our table made him a little more comfortable after a while! Today I went for lunch and ordered the grilled cheese with fries, and omg. It seriously was delicious. The staff is extremely friendly, as well as the chefs that came and asked how everything turned out. We were told that students cooked our lunch, and that made our experience even more delightful. On top of great food, the atmosphere is so relaxing and chic. Very clean, trendy and open--it's nice to not feel cramped. read more

Very disappointing Easter Brunch! The menu was misleading, no waffle station or smoked gouda mac-n-cheese. Food was room temp or either cold even though the food was in chaffing pans. The stone grits were not even in a warmer, just on a black dish in one big lump. They did not replenish the food other than the chicken tenders(which were the best thing on the buffet) when it was running low or empty. Paid $30/ adult and $12/kids...too much money for this disaster. They will be having a Mother's Day Brunch, but the only way I will go is if it is free.That way I will not leave disappointed! read more

WAYYY overpriced. Ive eaten here a few times since they have opened as my kids dance next door. As well as their merging with the Pinnacle Club downtown. The first two at the restaurant there was hair in my food that did not belong to anyone at our table (none of us had long black hair we are fair). The quality and portion size is nonexistent. I dont know why people like it here. We canceled our Pinnacle Club membership when the food quality went down, I understood when the server explained they had merged. I was in town for a few days and Edgar's Grille was recommended to me. I'm very happy I followed through with the recommendation. Amidst all of the chain restaurants in Augusta, this is a very welcome oasis. I headed into Edgar's at 5:30 PM just as the dining area opened. The hostess was very prompt and after a wait of only 2 minutes, and no reservation, I was seated. Check their website for pics of the bar and dining area...it is very open and pleasing to the eye. My server, "LC" was very attentive and my glass was never half full (I'm an optimist). She was very knowledgeable regarding the menu which changes every so often to accomodate the Chef and staff's creative side. The food... AMAZING and was delivered at the right time...no long waits! I opened with an appetizer of rabbit tenders...yes, rabbit. It was very good with a light batter and delicious sauce. For my main entree I enjoyed the rack of lamb which was cooked to perfection. Dessert was a custom affogato designed by the bartender. The creativity shines through in all they do and it is what makes this place so special. I wish I was staying longer as they have more I would love to try. This place would be great for a solo dinner, dinner with a special friend or loved one, or a friendly evening by the bar. The bar menu is slightly different and just as amazing with a great friendly and lively bar staff. If I could give it six stars I would. read more

I love that students are getting an opportunity to practice their craft. I was greeted with a smile by the hostess. I opted to dine at the bar. I was pleased to see that I could watch "students in action" on the TV screen. I asked the Tuba for a glass of Chardonnay and she responded "Oakie or non Oakie"!! I live in California, work in Napa and love a good "Oakie" chard. Tuba is the first bartender to EVER ask me that question! She also had a fast smile, was quick to serve and just a pleasure! Just walked in and many tables indoors and out were open and available. Hostess was not inviting or smiling and said it would be a 45 minute wait with no waiting area. The food on the buffet was minimal and looked as if it has been out for awhile. Augusta area can do better. read more

Luckily we found this place while visiting Augusta. I called about a half hour before arriving to find out reservations are best if you want to be seated right away, you could be turned away or maybe have to eat in the bar area ( I am not sure if you have to have a reservation to sit in that area or not) anyway items on the menu are changed on a regular basis, the food is delicious from what I understand it's prepared by cooks in training. I have found it very disappointing to find delicious food in this area even though the Masters are held here yearly, so if you're in the area you must give this place a try it is Worth every penny. read more

This was the second restaurant recommended by the plant we were in town auditing. Far exceeded my expectations. Having dined at other student run restaurants (Greystone & Johnson & Wales) I know how good they can be but I was not expecting one this good in Augusta. The service was spot on and our waiter could teach many 'professionals' about proper wine pouring. Buffet Brunch Review: I've heard so many good things about this place but I was disappointed in the Buffet brunch. Food was good and selection great but almost everything we plated was cold by the time we sat to eat. EVERYTHING...grits, waffles, biscuit, gravy...you get the idea. Only saving grace was the omelet made to order was hot and the salad was perfectly cold. So while it tasted good I prefer my food warm at the very least. I will not return for the buffet but if dinner and lunch is as good as other reviews I will give this place one more try. read more

Ugh. We walked in and found that this establishment only allows 4 people to sit at the bar? And it's a VERY long bar. Couple this with a bartender who is wearing so much headgear (paper mask, plastic face shield, and glasses) that he looks like a deranged beekeeper! Edgar's has lost the plot! Being safe doesn't mean looking so freaky that you scare off customers. The cavernous dining room was also mostly empty. They need to turn this around soon. In town from Atlanta and Stopped in this evening for an after dinner coffee and dessert. Upon arrival there was 5 tables in the restaurant, it was around 9:40pm. After waiting at the host stand for a couple minutes what looked to be the hostess walked up and we politely asked if we could get a small table for 4 around the bar seating area as we were just there for coffee and a dessert. She rudely responded with "um, I'll have to check." Another couple min go by, she returns and said we could sit at the bar but to "hurry up and decide on an order because we promptly close at 10" (mind you the hours on the front door state 5-until). Needless to say we walked out after a response like that. Customer service isn't for everyone and if you have a bad attitude you shouldn't be working at what's claimed to be an upscale restaurant. It's sad to see such a nice place ruined with snobby workers that just cost the establishment an easy $80 tab. What a shame. read more

My husband and I dined here for the first time for our anniversary in March 2018. I ordered the pork chops and my husband got the ribeye steak. I guess I was expecting a traditional pork chop, and I have to admit I did not enjoy the contemporary twist in this dish at all. But on a positive note, my husband had the ribeye steak and it was delicious! The best steak we've had in the Augusta area. The atmosphere was romantic and upscale.
