We have a no soliciting and DO NOT KNOCK sign on our door. Apparently your sales guys can't read?!? We don't do business with companies that are this disrespectful. Please retrain your team as this seems to be an ongoing issue. We actually ARE in the market for a pest control company, but not one that conducts business in this manner. We take the time to post the sign, please take the time to read them. It's good business, period. read more

As with a previous reviewer, their first visit went well, but...I was home for that and was able to see what the tech did while there. However, the second visit, not so good. I was given a 2 day notice via text when they would be arriving, which clearly stated to confirm the appt with a YES reply. I did not confirm and was out of town at the time, so I figured I would call when I returned to reschedule. The tech showed up anyways and therefore did not make it inside to treat my home. I brushed it off and figured with the next text I would call right away if needed. Again, I received only a 2 day notice, which actually gave me less than 24 hours to reschedule. When I called to change the date, I was given another date and time and told that my appt for the following morning was cancelled. NOT! When I returned home from work that day the door hanger was there indicating the tech had been there to service my home, again, not going inside for a treatment. And, the "removed webs" was checked off, which I still have in my egress windows. When I called the second time for the same appt to make a complaint, I was told that I did not have an appt change for that visit, so the upcoming date and time I thought would work was not even on their schedule. Apparently the Arizona office does not communicate with the Illinois office. When I did finally get someone in Illinois, I was told that I could not cancel my service without paying a penalty of $150 and it would automatically be renewed. I won't be renewing, I can guarantee that! I was also told that I would receive a call back within a day to get a new appointment - this review is 9 days post my third call to reschedule and I am still waiting for that call. read more

This place is a joke. They pund on your door, say they didn't see your no soliciting sign, read anything off your car, truck or lawn to act like they have something in common and say they help your friend across the street. When you tell them no thanks, they continue until yiu tell them to leave. They smile and laugh and come back the next month with the same exact responses and everything. Please don't pay them and maybe they will go out of business and stop waking my kids. read more

Extremely dissatisfied with this service and the way they write the contract. My husband set this account up and told me there was a one time fee if we signed up for a year service, but yet when I reviewed the contract there was a fee charged for every time they came out to service our house, along with the repayment of discount they give you to sign up! That's a HORRIBLE way to do business! Why give a discount?? We did cancel our contract only after 2 months, and we keep getting weekly reminders that we still owe $150.00! Well I will certainly take my sweet time paying this bill off! read more

July 20 22 Eco Shield came out and did their service. They sprayed some kind of chemical around my garage door and garage lights that stained our white siding. I tried to remove the stain unsuccessfully. I also had the house power washed and it did not remove the stain. I contacted Eco Shield and told them I did not want any further service until they remove the stain around the garage door and lights. They then came out and tried to remove the stain unsuccessfully. Eco Shield wanted me to contact cleaning companies, get three quotes and send that information to Eco Shield so they could pick one of the quotes and have them do the work. I told Eco Shield that they put the stain on our siding and it was their responsibility to remove it. Eco Shield got a quote and then wanted us to sign a release that would absolve them from all further action whether the strain was removed or not and whether the cleaning caused further damage. It would also prevent us from doing anything on social media like Yelp regarding the type of services that they've provided. We did not and will not sign the release. But in November, 2022, even though I said do not perform any further service they did any way. I requested a refund and on March 13, 2023 Eco Shield finally said they processed a refund of $199 and we would get our refund in 7 to 10 business days. It is now over one month since they claimed they processed the refund and we have yet to receive it. We have sent numerous emails to Eco Shield indicating that we have not received the refund and have not received a response to our emails. This is a company I would recommend never ever doing business with. read more

We were referred to them by mostly all of our friends. Since majority rules we went with them of course. I have to say from the initial call to them coming in and doing the first spray it's been great. We recently saw spiders starting to make their way to the second level(running from their dead family in the basement in sure). I called them on Monday and by today-Thursday Michiko was here. He was very helpful and courteous and so patient with all my questions! read more

We have a "No Soliciting" sign posted at our door.  And they had TWO different sales. First one came about a month ago lying like a 5 year old about doing work near by. I tried to be polite and made it clear that I do my own work. He clearly wont take NO for answer, continue pushing me till I say "NO THANKS" 3 times. Second guy came today and rang our door bell once again. I just opened my door and pointed at our "No Soliciting" sign. I feel bad for these pathetic sales ppl for working under the high pressure MLM scheme. Guess it's time to purchase a bigger "No Soliciting" sign. read more

We're fairly new customers after being approached by Logan, who rang our bell. Logan was patient and kindly answered all of our questions. Although he got some dates wrong, he promptly answered my text about it and figured out the situation - on a Sunday. THEN... after the service was completed the 2nd time we had a wasp problem still (and worse) and I was ready to have it out with Logan, but guess what, I didn't have to! He put in the free re-do order and main office called us and scheduled within a couple days. They sent out a manager, Kyle Doney, who was also kind and patiently answered our questions. He discovered (because he's an expert!) that we had a Mud Dauber infestation Kyle educated us what they are and he carefully removed all the hives (or blobs of mud, I guess) and then dusted for protection from them and other wasps, all around the house and inside the garage. He did a thorough job, no rushing and we appreciate him for it. Honestly, I'm not convinced we won't see more problems throughout the year, particularly as seasons change, especially reading the reviews on this site. I think the chemicals wear off and bugs and other pests come back and set up house again. But if we continue to get our needs met promptly and without additional fees than what we've already paid to get rid of the pests, we're very satisfied with EcoShield! read more

This company demanded photos of my minor child or medical documentation with his personal information in order to cancel a plan that was causing a skin reaction across his body. The company promised 3 times to have a manager call me back which never called back. I was told the first mosquitoes treatment would be included in my agreement, and was charged for the service. Trying to get someone to answer the phone to resolve is mission impossible. Make sure you're home when they stop by. Their level of effort increases significantly if they know someone is watching. Signed up for 24 month service contract in June of 2018 and canceled the contract in July of 2020. Received a bill in October for $155. Tracy in their offices in October of 2020 told us the $155 they were charging us was an early termination fee. Not sure how we owed an early term fee since we canceled their services after 25 months. Now I've received a bill for $155 from a collection agency, A.R.M., after several attempts on my part to get an explanation of this fee or a copy of a contract showing my signature agreeing to a set number of visits. No reply! Next step is a television consumer advocate. Beware of this company! read more

We hired Eco Shield for mosquitoes because sales person told me it was guaranteed that if we were still getting bi, they would stand behind their product which they did NOT. The week before I had to reschedule and the girl that took my call said they would come on July 3 and her and I both said that would work out great due to a July 4th party at my house. A couple days later they called me and said oh no she scheduled me for July 5! I wasn't happy but said fine. He was very polite and said this appt would be free due to her mistake. Now the problem really starts when A couple days after they applied application. We were outside with company and every night had to go in house cause we were getting eaten alive. I called office and the same girl that messed up my appt was rude and said they don't guarantee it and will not come out. She said They already came out and gave a free application and I said that was due to HER mistake! The rudest person ever. My husband and I have been in business for 37 years and would never still have a business if we treated our customers that way! She is a detriment to the company. I will not be a return customer next year and I will be sure to tell all my neighbors, friends and family to stay away from them, read more

OMG!!!!WASPS!!!!!!THOSE THINGS KILL BEES AND IF ONE IS HIGHLY ALLERGIC PEOPLE TOO. The team that came out put in magic crystals to bump the wasps off AND went totally around the house. They also found some carpenter ants and treated for that. The lead team guy was VERY personable and knew his stuff. smart enough to engage in by gone era courtesy and conversation. They were efficient AND kind. Total Scam! The "contract" they make you sign does not align at all with what salesperson promised. They require service every 90 days whether you want it or not and you are stuck for two years. they want to come out in the middle of February and charge me $150 to spray for ants! That is crazy! I was originally told I could schedule service anytime I thought I needed it. I definitely do not need pest control in the middle of winter when it is -10 degrees outside. What are they spraying on the outside when everything is covered in snow? read more

I've been with Ecoshield Pest Control for 6 years now and have to say I've been very satisfied with the service and the professionalism of this company, its technicians and employees. Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Kyle Doney. What an outstanding technician he was. So polite, courteous and conscientious. After introducing himself and before servicing my property, Kyle was interested in any insect/pest concerns of mine so he could address and focus on them. I loved his proactive approach, positive attitude and determination. It was evident how much he cares and also values me as a customer. I have got to say that I have had nothing but good experiences with Ecoshield. They always go above and beyond and do an excellent job in keeping pests away while making sure I am completely satisfied. I highly recommend Ecoshield for your pest control needs. read more

EcoShield failed to get rid of the ants in my Gazebo after 4 attempts. The technicians were given explicit instructions for 3 quarterly visits and one touch up. Only one technician really seemed to try to kill the ants. The others did not follow through on the instructions I gave to EcoShield. Now they are trying to charge me 155$ to cancel the service. The customer service is bad, the technicians do not follow through, they miss or push appointments. Do NOT do business with EcoShield in Geneva IL. read more

This company scams people. When you try to cancel they charge you $150. They leave messages with no call back number. They send bills with phone numbers that are not active. I had a bad experience with this company for the following reasons: 1) their sales tactics - person comes to my door saying they were doing a service to one of my neighbors and wanted to offer others the promotional deal. He lied, no one in my neighborhood uses them. 2) the contract they use to sign you up is on their I-pad so it's literally not possible to read the fine print, like the cancellation penalty. 3) I asked if I could suspend the service at any time and the sales person said, "of course" you can, which is deceptive. You can cancel inside of a year but you pay a cancellation fee. Mine was $250. 4) The sales person indicated that the service person would come by and the treating of my house would take about 90 minutes. I asked to walk around with the service person to which he responded, "I don't think you'll like the fumes." He was gone in 15 minutes. 5) When a service person called to schedule a visit, I was headed out of the country for a business trip and indicated that I needed to reschedule and would be in touch upon my return. The response I received was kind of hostile. I then was tied up with a death in my family and surgery, and they left 7 voicemails on my phone and 15 text messages on the need to pay. I made payment today mostly because I don't want to impact my credit score but honestly, if you're reading this, I would recommend that you do NOT use this company ever! read more

Do not recommend Ecohield for insulation job. I have used this company for extermination services for several years. Recently used them for insulation of our attic space - big mistake! Had to come back several times as they didnt have the right equipment each time they came out. read more

Beware!! Door to door sales team will tell you that you can cancel at any time, even though the contract (shown on their tablet computer they show it to you on) says it's for 24 months. I was assured that just meant the discounted price was guaranteed for 24 months. What a sucker I was?!! The emailed contract clearly then shows that what I signed up for was a 24 month service contract and that I would be charged $200 to cancel before the end of the 24 months. I will call this week and get the service cancelled. I'd rather get out now and write honest reviews on every review site I can find rather than continue to pay $135 per treatment for 5 treatments a year. Oh, and they did a very thorough job (it seemed) the first time. They sprayed inside and out, and cleaned out the cob webs in the high places outside. The 2nd and 3rd visits were them just spraying outside and the lone guy was out there for maybe 5 minute; not thorough at all. read more

Caveat Emptor... So... This is EcoShield.. They are a door to door business that says you can get out of their contract, which you cannot. The exterminators that send to your home have no clue what they are doing. They come into your home, use a duster to remove the spiderwebs, spray a chemical, and leave. If you have a specific problem, the exterminators they send can not help you. They appear to be completely untrained workers, or bare minimum trained. For problems, they call in the Supervisor but only when you call to cancel your contract. At this time, you'll be informed that you are locked into the contract. read more

I wish I could give a rating of zero. Terrible they are all about charging you even when their service fails to yield results. They have sprayed four times and I was still getting mice. Very poor service. They like to come to your home when you aren't there and do their service. Even though I paid for services to be rendered inside and out of the house. The service man is pleasant but the service the company provides doesn't cut it. Very poor quality service. Not sure why I pay 125.00 for a ten minute visit that is pointless. read more

This business could not be more of a scam, and I've never had a business experience like this before in my life. As many have mentioned, a young door to door salesman came by pitching pest control that many others in our neighborhood were getting. We had just relocated and were settling in. Details of what would be done and when were not made clear by the salesperson, and we asked that ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE be done the day they were there as it was our block party and families would be playing on our yard and we didn't want any pesticides on our yard our house. The sales person said no problem, and that they would just conduct the first service when they were in the neighborhood next time. I did pay up front for the first month/service. Less than 3 weeks later they returned to conduct their first service but charged me another $200, so $400 within 30 days. I asked to speak to the salesperson that called on me, and they were not able to connect us. Now i continue to get calls from the billing department and that is all. They say sales people are seasonal employees and customer service manages the claims. Its like talking to a call center where you have the same conversation 100x over and over with a different person each time. Because I could not speak to a sales person ro manager, i asked my account be shut off and I have an email from them saying everything is put away. 4 months later they are now threatening me to go to collections saying i owe another $200 for a cancellation fee. I get non-stop calls at all hours of the day from their billing and department badgering me without any discussion with a single salesperson to which they respond we can't guarantee that. This is the biggest SCAM in the world and the worst customer service I have come across in a professional environment. I hope others read these before falling trap to this terrible company like I did. read more

I call them every month and I let them know that we cancelled the services and would not like someone to come out and they will take care of the charges but yet every month they keep charging me every month - DOUBLE. Just hired Ecoshield over the summer and I have had an extraordinary experience so far. Their technicians are very friendly and knowledgeable. We just moved into a new home and had a bee issue. They came out a few times to spray and remove many wasp and hornet nests around the house. Then a few days ago we found mice and called them right away. Ecoshield literally had a tech out to our home within an hour! Talk about lightning fast response time. I can't say enough about Clinton. I believe he is their mouse expert. He is super friendly and thorough. Set up traps all throughout the house. The next day, the traps caught 4 mice. Called up the company early in the morning at 8am and Cathi answered the phone (even though they don't open til 9am) because she noticed from the caller ID it was me (talk about a company that cares about their customers!) Cathi immediately dispatched Clinton returned again in a blink of an eye. He removed the mice and filled in some holes where he felt mice were getting into the house. Can't say enough about Ecoshield. They are quite reasonable for the high level of service. read more

Customer service here is awful. Called to report a mouse problem, they came out and set a few traps. Technician said if problem persists to call back in 2 weeks. Over course of 2 weeks caught 12 mice, but when I called to have them come back they said they couldn't do anything. Worthless. read more
