I had recently noticed a problem in my garage. I didn't know if it was termites or carpenter ants, but something was eating into the woodwork. Concerned, I contacted Rose Pest Solutions. They offered to come over the very next day, but since I was unavailable, we agreed to make it the day after. The technician, Gary, kept me very well informed via telephone as to the time of his arrival. After checking with me to see if it would be OK, he actually came earlier than we originally planned. After he made an examination, he informed me that my problem was neither termites nor carpenter ants. My problem was carpenter bees. To be candid, I had never heard of carpenter bees. The best part was...I didn't really have a problem. He informed me that the bees had attempted to nest in my woodwork, found the wood not to their liking, and moved on to "greener pastures." He could have sold me a whole bunch of services that I didn't need. Yes, he could have...but he didn't. This told me that Rose Pest Solutions is a reliable, honest concern. They are a business that I would have no hesitation recommending or calling in the future if I am in need of their services. read more

He could have sold me thousands of dollars in services I didn't need but like a ethical businessperson, he did not. It was a door-to-door sales pitch that got me. Had the service done while they were in the neighborhood for a "discounted rate" signed up and was told it was a monthly service and was charged monthly - they showed up the first month and charged for the following but didn't show up or respond to several emails asking for updates. The bug issue didn't get better (I'd say it actually got worse). When I called their own customer service line I just got attitude and told that they couldn't help me but they'd have a sales rep reach out instead - they were looking at my account. Instead of providing a service that was detailed in the sales pitch, they just collect your money and then charge you to cancel when the service isn't what they said it would be. It was a costly mistake, but I'll do more research before signing up for another company. Don't fall for the sales pitch. read more

I'll start by saying all of the service technicians and most of the managers were quite kind and responsive. Unfortunately, the sales rep oversold what they could accomplish. He implied that the clothing moth issue would be easily resolved and spoke of all these treatments that would be provided. However the first technician did not come with all of these products and when I tried to reach the rep he was unavailable and never returned my calls. His bosses were easy to deal with but after five months the situation has not been resolved. Don't promise something you cannot deliver. I would not recommend. read more

This review is a long time coming, because we were using Rose on a monthly contract for almost two years for outside and inside our 2-flat we've been renovating. Initially, we were quite satisfied because we were referred to Rose by a friend who worked for Rose. They hooked us up with a fantastic exterminator within the company, and for a while both our friend and our exterminator kept us happy. However, once our friend switched jobs and our exterminator left the company, my spouse and I began experiencing the issues we'd heard about from them. First issue, Rose only provides advance notice of the day-ish of your monthly inspection over text if you're on a contract. If the time doesn't work for you, you need to call and change the time. The details/times/day tends to be pretty arbitrary on their part. This would be workable if their exterminators were sent out to geographically clustered calls, but every single Rose exterminator we talked to confirmed that Rose doesn't do this. So, the exterminators have to run back and forth all over the city. This comes to issue #2, which is that (when things go _well_) resulted in numerous calls from exterminators needing to reschedule their visit when their earlier calls take too long. When things _don't_ go well, we have been charged (multiple times) for interior and exterior services where the exterminator assigned to us never rings the doorbell and *claims* that they knocked/rang the doorbell and, when no one answered, did a perimeter sweep. Tellingly, our doorbell cam has almost never shown a Rose exterminator approaching the front door on those days. The rat boxes also often show no change in weight after these so-called "perimeter checks" (our neighbors have developed an unaddressed rat problem that we're fighting to keep from our home, so our rat boxes are empty after each month). In fact, after our last inspection (where no one ever came to or rang the front door from Rose, but we were charged for the visit and even sent an inspection report for the exterior), we noticed that the two rat poison boxes that clearly had dead rats in them before the sweep were just as heavy after the "inspection." Whether or not the exterminator never stopped by and fully lied, or did a half-assed job doesn't matter - even the job they claimed they did didn't get done. Then, when I called Rose to have the charge reversed for the incomplete visit, the manager on duty tried to claim it was my fault for not being around when their exterminator came, and tried to insist that the charge was valid. Which, again, is ridiculous, especially in this age of doorcams and such (plus, there are 3 adults who work from home at my place, and all of us pay attention to the door, thanks to a porch pirate problem). What are Rose customers supposed to do, if even a Rose manager tried to claim it was still my fault? Even if we work remotely, it's madness to expect a customer to sit on their front steps for a multi-hour period because the business can't get its act together. It's was also offensive that a manager was attempting to so fully shift responsibility onto their customers. Obviously, I no longer have a contract with Rose, and do not recommend them to anyone. They did end up reversing the final bogus charge. read more

I hired Rose Pest for legal reasons at my business, they've shown up unannounced during open hours and refused to leave when asked to, telling me they want to spray pesticide INSIDE my store when there's customers, incredibly unprofessional. The person who showed up was VISIBLY SICK with a runny nose, coughing, INSIDE MY STORE while there were customers. Again, disgusting. I told them to leave and to contact me over the phone or over email to schedule a time to come by, they refused and then CHARGED ME for a service I never accepted. I have called and emailed so many customer service people to cancel this reoccurring charge (that they continue to attempt to bill despite the annual agreement expiring). They do have good customer service but their actual service isn't great. I had a one-time service done for 275$. The guy did come out and spray but nothing changed. I was facing issues with spiders (the most simple pests) and there was no decrease in the number of spiders and the issues still persisted. I called to get another spray as they offer a 30-day callback spray and I was one day off the 30-days and they refused to come out again without another 275$ charge. This is terrible business. I could've been a very loyal customer and had stayed with the company but they wouldn't honor it. I would use another service as there's many pest companies on Yelp. read more

I have used Rose pest control for years. My first service person was Shawn. He is the old pro at Rose and knew everything. I was just lucky to live near him and so I lucked out and got the company's most senior man. We had a great rat infestation problem and we were lucky to have him to tackle the problem. More recently we have a much more manageable problem, but was, perhaps for that reason, was more intractable. Travis has not been with the company as long but he is just as good as Shawn as far as I can see. He thinks like the rat, thinking about what it wants to do and, more importantly, what counter measures the rat will take in response to his efforts. When calling in to make an appointment request Travis Clay he is wonderful he goes be on the call of duty. We have a severe rat issue affecting several of the neighbors. Travis took the time to explain everything thoroughly, actually watches the tracking of the rats of where they're going before he sets up bait boxes. While he was here set up individual traps caught two rats within a short period of time. Travis truly cares about his clients and listens their needs he also educates you at the same time. Called for an appointment to check for termites. Was able to get same day or next day. Andrew came out today and was WONDERFUL! He explained what to look for for termites, what else it could be... Then went to the site we were concerned about. Andrew assessed that it was NOT termites (woo hoo!)--didn't have any of the symptoms. Andrew did explain what it looked like it was (beatle of sort). He looked at the cement crawl space with the suspected firewood and reassured us all was well. He said no need to do a treatment when there is not a reason. The south side location of Rose Pest Control that was handled by the Indiana Team, initially started smooth and going on 2 years of service with me, which then followed through COVID period and there was a change in staff and management. From there, Poor follow up, and poor service where only partial work was done, but the the Indiana Rose Pest Control Team expected full payment for partial work that they did not complete. During these uncertain times we had to get someone into our home to investigate an ant problem we were having. The Team at Rose was amazing. We talked about my concerns prior to hiring them. They ensured me their employees who have to interact with people inside their homes take every precaution necessary!
