Eco Tech is the BEST, these people SPECIALIZE in bed bug treatment. First off, I emailed photos of the taped bugs I found to Madelyn in hopes that they might just be some other terrible bug, but she confirmed they were indeed bed bugs (at no charge). Bed Bugs are my worst nightmare (as i lived through the horror once before at a different apartment, different landlord, different pest control company) but I didn't have someone like Madelyn to remind me "There are much worse things in this life than bed bugs, okay, so don't panic," the first time around; which actually helped my anxiety as I considered this fact. The exterminators, Mike and Z, are literally modern day Superheros in my eyes. They immediately found "ground Zero" of the infestation to be my bed frame (made of wood), treated it, and removed it. They also inspected the apartment above my basement apartment for free (thank the universe because it was my landlord's place). Mike walked me through the "next steps" of what to do in the apartment. The he gave me useful tips about public areas in Chicago (#1 bed bug city in the US), traveling + hotels, and explained why they are the MOST SUCCESSFUL bed bug treatment company compared to your average pest control place that DOESN'T specialize in bed bugs. Great service from start to finish. My boyfriend and I found a bedbug in his bed about a week ago, and emailed a picture to Jim at Eco Tech right away. They do free bug ID through email or their website, and Jim responded within a few hours confirming that it was, indeed, a bed bug. We got the next available appointments, with an inspection and treatment for my boyfriend's apartment and an inspection for mine. Nick D. and Sean were sent out to the apartments and they couldn't have been more awesome. They called me when they were on their way and when they arrived, and I met them in the lobby. Don't worry - their car is super discreet and your neighbors won't notice anything! They thoroughly inspected my boyfriend's apartment, but were very respectful and careful with everything. They truly are experienced and professional, and know exactly where to look and what to look for, something I couldn't have done on my own. They explained every step of the treatment process they would be doing on my boyfriend's unit, and got right to work. They are super quick and efficient. Most importantly - they showed me everything that they found during the inspection: live and dead bed bugs, exoskeletons, etc. so that I was fully aware of the situation. They came to my apartment next and inspected, and we found that mine was bed bug free. Nick and Sean were incredibly respectful and honest. Never pushy or trying to sell me on anything, either! I moved into my parents old home which had roaches. We tried many times to get rid of them. I kept buying raid spray and sprayed every night. No matter what I did they kept appearing! I finally decided to call a professional. Every where I called, they wanted me to sign a monthly fee or the price was in the range of $1,000-1,500 for my whole home. I kept browsing and looking at reviews and finally decided to call eco pest control. I called and madelyn who was very helpful and very nice gave me a set price of 175$ for my whole house and the attic was free since no one was living there and had no appliances such as fridge or a stove. I felt like it was to good to be true. I scheduled an appointment and sure enough they came on time. They sprayed in back of my fridge and cabinets. Everywhere. The same week I saw roaches on the walls but they were slowly dying! They couldn't even run! I saw a big difference that same week. I also found out that the roaches were coming from our basement. Thanks to the technician who figured it out! We had a 30day call back so the 2nd spray was free of charge I didn't see any roaches in my apartment however I did see maybe 2 in our basement after they sprayed so I called for a 2nd spray just in case! I scheduled my 2nd appointment for today and Jonathan G. was also very helpful and knowledgeable that he even gave me a few pointers on things that roaches like and what to stay away from. I am very happy I called them! I never leave reviews but I will for this company because I felt like they actually cared about the customers and not just about the money. Thank you! tl;dr: great service, knowledgable professionals, affordable prices. So we had a rodent infestation in our 1br apartment. The mice weren't falling for the traps and were becoming weirdly confident/aggressive. I went with EcoTech because they seemed to have the best balance of cost + service + quality. From my initial shopping around I learned that the kind of service offered with other exterminators can vary wildly. A lot of companies will only come out that one time unless you sign on for monthly or quarterly visits (if they even offered that). EcoTech offers two service appointments (an initial visit to deal with the problem and then a follow-up a couple weeks later), and then one more additional visit within a certain amount of time. After that, if you need them again they'll come out and service your home for a reduced price. Both service appointments were kept by knowledgable and friendly professionals. They walked us through their process, told me exactly what they were doing and why, and let us know what we needed to do to make sure we don't have to call them out again. The front office people I spoke to on the phone were also very friendly and helpful. For all they offer with their service, the price really isn't that bad. We just had a 1br apartment, so YMMV, but for me EcoTech's service came in at a reasonable price point while still offering great service. And lo and behold: no more mice! I was really wary about hiring an exterminator and mostly did so out of desperation. I was concerned about potentially flushing a lot of money down the drain. EcoTech fit my budget while delivering top-quality service and ridding my home of those fleet-footed hellbeasts. I highly recommend them. read more

After getting bites for a while a friend of mine told me to look at my bed in case I have bed bugs. When I got home and checked my box spring sure enough I had the little critters. After doing some research I called Chicago bed bug experts but they could not come the same day so I went with another company that came that same evening. Well I was very dissatisfied with their service, the only thing they did was spray all the baseboards with a chemical out of one of those cans from the sixties. I can tell you that it was not very successful because the same night I go new bite marks. I did a lot of reading on the proper way to kill these things and everything I read was that spraying alone will not do it. I called Chicago bed bug experts (Eco Tech) again and had them come out and treat it their way. They came and did exactly what I had read needs to be done and more. They were very friendly and explained everything to me. They took my whole bed frame apart and steamed every crack in it, then they used some freezing co2 on it and they did the same thing on the base boards behind the bed and the couch. They put down the traps on the bed legs, encased my box spring and then they dusted and sprayed. Even the spray they used was different, they used an electric pressure box that shot the chemical deep inside the cracks. Ever since that service I have not had any bites and they are coming out two more times to make sure that they are gone for good. I ended up paying twice to get rid of these things but it was well worth every penny, I just wished I had gone with these guys first. read more

We had an ant issue last spring that we dealt with using sprays and powders we bought at the hardware store. In addition to them not being very effective, we worried about their impact on us and our pets. This year I decided not to play around and called in the professionals. Ecotech was wonderful to deal with, starting with Madeline on the phone, who worked with me to find a time that I could be home to meet the tech. My work hours made it tough to be home on time for the visit, but Madeline worked it out between me and the tech so that he wouldn't have to wait for me, and that he could be there when I was available. Jonathan came out and thoroughly inspected my home, explained a little about how ant colonies worked and where he suspected they were coming into the house from. He sprayed and put down a powder and was mindful of where my dogs had access. The amount of ants we saw in the next few days decreased a lot, but after another big rain, we started seeing them. Thanks to the Ecotech guarantee, we were able to call again and have another tech come to the house to reinspect and treat the problem again. This time Adam came out. He like, Jonathan was friendly and very knowledgeable. He treated the problem and gave me tips about how to prevent the ants from coming back. We've seen very few ants in the house since the last treatment, despite a large amount of them in the garden outside. Madelyn is the absolute best person you could possibly call when you wake up and wonder if you have bed bugs or other pests. I had just come back from the Dominican Republic and had been sleeping in all kinds of homes and jungle tents for two weeks. I had many kinds of bug bites. But then I had this terrifying thought a few days after being home, "What if my bites aren't healing because I'm still getting bit at night by bugs I brought home in my bag?" Now I am paranoid after any backpacking trip, I had emptied my bag outside, gone through all my clothes outside before bringing them in, and left my bag outside the first couple nights. But what if that wasn't enough? I tore apart my room and my bed but found nothing. I googled bed bugs, and bed bug experts and found Eco Tech. In the morning I called her and she was able to get me a same day appointment. Neil came out while I was at work. He thoroughly checked my bed and room as well as the and was happy to report that I was problem free. Neil said my bites might take weeks to heal. He said to monitor things for ten days as any dormant insect would become active by then. Sure enough, its ten days later and I have no new bites and all is well. The fee for the check up was well worth the peace of mind and good sleep I got. I had an excellent experience with Eco Tech, and I recommend them highly! We had a sudden ant infestation in our bathroom, and I called Eco Tech after reading the many positive Yelp reviews online. I spoke with Stacey, who was fabulous! She worked around my schedule and was able to schedule a tech to come to our house two days later during the window I was available. She followed up with a phone call the day before to confirm the appointment, which I appreciated. I was also impressed with the email I received the morning of the appointment, which told me the name of the tech who would be arriving, along with a photo, so I would know it was really him. Jon arrived within the timeframe I was given (closer to the beginning of the window too, I might add), and he was truly outstanding! He was very thorough, and he was very patient in answering my many questions. He explained what he was doing and why, and I learned more about ants and their habits than I ever thought possible. Even though the ants were contained to our bathroom and part of our bedroom, he took the time to spray all over our condo to give me peace of mind. I can happily report that we haven't seen an ant in days! Overall, the customer service I received from Eco Tech was outstanding, and I won't hesitate to use them again in the future. In 2012, I was living in an apartment in Rogers Park on Sheridan Rd. I discovered that we had roaches, mice and worst of all bed bugs. I have many allergies and the landlord wanted to just spray my apartment himself but I investigated on my own and hired Ecotech. They are the best! They took their time and explained everything to me including how to move without taking any unwanted critters with me. Now, 5 years later, I've got roaches and bed bugs again in a different apartment. This landlord sent an exterminator who was here for ten minutes, sprayed around the bed and then talked for a while and then left. He said there had been bugs in this building for at least 5 years and unless everyone sprayed there would be no way to get rid of them. A few days after this guy sprayed, I was still killing bed bugs. I'm calling Ecotech and I'll pay for it myself because I trust them. They're honest, knowledgeable and I know that Ecotech will make it possible to move without bugs. I've already thrown out the couch, and a lot of my things. I'll leave my hospital style bed and the rest of my furniture in the alley when I move. Let me just say that I can finally breathe and my anxiety is down a thousand notches. A couple days before Memorial Day I discovered that I had bed bugs in my apartment. I was mortified to say the least. BTW Chicago is having a huge problem with bed bugs!! I called my landlord and told them about Eco Tech, and let them know that this is the company I wanted to come out. I googled the reviews, and saw all of the success stories...so thank god my landlord agreed. Eco Tech's technicians Mike and Z came out a couple days later and treated my unit for the first time. They found activity and started their process of treating the unit. I was not home, but my mother was, and Mike and Z treated my mother with the utmost respect. First of all, I can't find the right words to truly express how much I LOVE this company. Madelyn and Slobo are the two people I have dealt with at EcoTech. We used EcoTech over the summer for a rat problem in our area. After utilizing them through the summer and following their recommendations, our problem appears to be gone. There are still rats in the neighborhood, but we have not seen them in our yard or burrowing along our foundation anymore. (And, no evidence in the house!!) Just for my piece of mind (and with winter approaching) I requested another inspection. When I spoke to Madelyn on Monday 11/12 to make the appointment, the soonest available was 11/27 as I was requesting that Slobo be the technician assigned. I mentioned to Madelyn that if there was a cancellation we would most likely be available. Lo and behold, Madelyn called me the very next day and said that Slobo would be able to inspect that day!!!! Slobo came out and found no evidence of activity inside or outside the house - WooHoo!! I am so grateful for EcoTech for giving me the piece of mind I need!! We are extremely satisfied by our recent experience with Ecotech. After it became clear that an original infestation (treated by a different company) had not been thoroughly eradicated, we decided to call Ecotech and are so happy we did. First, it became clear in their inspection why the re-infestation had occurred (e.g., lack of traps and real follow-through in dealing with hidden crevices). Secondly, Ecotech's far more thorough treatment came in at least a few hundred dollars less than we had paid previously. Our technicians were Nick and Sean, whose professionalism and commitment to solve our problem was so evident on the first call that we asked specifically for them on the follow-up visits we had. They came on time and called prior to their actual arrival; explained in detail what they would do and showed us plainly the results of their inspection; and they patiently answered all our questions, taking time even on a late Friday afternoon to do what was necessary to get the job done right. In the end, the consumer has to trust the techs to actually do what a company claims they will do. With Nick and Sean we were encouraged to trust they would solve our problem and they then demonstrated our confidence was well-placed by their service. I called Eco Tech Pest Control yesterday to request an inspection of 2 apartments for bed bugs. We had had a problem in the recent past and our new tenant wanted assurance that we are clear. The tenant asked that we use Eco Tech and I'm so glad she did. Madelyn handled our calls and could not have been nicer or more helpful! She really understood what we were asking for and was extremely helpful even though we were not using a very expensive service. She scheduled an inspection for us within a couple hours of our call. We have used 2 other companies in the past for bed bug inspection and treatment but inspector Mike P. was by far the best. He was super thorough, very knowledgeable, and incredibly nice and helpful. He went out of his way to teach me how to spot evidence of bed bugs. He also had all kinds of technology and supplies, as well as a professional uniformed appearance. I will definitely be using Eco Tech pest control for any future pest control problems. The pest control business in general is very uneven in my experience. Eco Tech is the best! I highly recommend them if you have any sort of bug problem, but for me it was specifically bed bugs. After much travel throughout the summer we brought home bed bugs and I was freaking out. I called Eco Tech right away and from the very first call they were professional and helpful. I was able to email them a photo of the bug and they confirmed that it was in fact a bed bug. They presented me with an immediate plan of action. They are very clear in their instructions for prep that we needed to do, the action plan of their technicians, and a follow-up plan. Eco tech is also wonderful about calling to confirm appointments and the techs always call when they are on the way. Nick and Goran were our techs and they are absolutely wonderful. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. They walked me through all of the treatments that they were going to do and provided a packet of instructions with further explanation and follow-up procedures.
