For the work down I feel like it was a good value. I'm going to have him back for a follow up. Great info on bill (chemicals) and internet says yes to follow up. Very happy with the service!..... I'm disappointed that the fee wasn't adjusted due to the length and difficulty of the visit. As I said, the people at ABC were friendly, but I'm not sure that makes up for the cost.

Other neighbors have used different services who charge a LOT more and they weren't happy with the results. Best Pest will come back for a reduced rate within the next 3 months. I really think he found the entry point and I won't need him back, I'll update this if it continues to be an ongoing problem, but I think it is fixed, and I wish I would have called them sooner! One of the reasons I was skeptical at first was how many favorable reviews this business had.... I was not asked to review this business, I'm only doing it because it seems to have worked!!! We have ants and silverfish problem in our house…read more Emil did a great job with the customer service, very helpful, responsive, and gives a pretty good rundown what would be expected. The price is pretty reasonable, especially for 2 pests, and not overcharged as other companies. It comes with 2 visits, 2 weeks apart from the first. However, the on site experience was not as great as mentioned. Technician came, went to spraying right away, and it felt like he was in a rush. Did not really check what might be the cause of the infestation (would not be an easy thing to investigate, but we did not really see the effort to find the cause). We see a great reduced number of ants, but still see a few lingering around, not as concerned number as before, but we feeling better about the ants. Also, 2 weeks after the second treatment we keep seeing silverfish back even after the treatment and trap was applied (they mentioned the number might increase the following week/10 days after treatment due to them trying to leave the premises, or longer since the treatment is pet/child safe product and it might take a bit to work). After the 2 visits, extra visit/treatment will cost extra, even with some pests coming back. - Giving a 5 stars still since they gave me a full refund due to my dissatisfaction with the service on site. Treatment did not do as well to the my pests situation, but great customer priority, owning up to their words, and honesty overall.

If I were a contractor, I would look to get an endorsement from this company. Frank Dattalo was great on-site. The follow-up call with Charles Bellefontaine was very insightful. The combination of the two... 1) saved us additional time and money, 2) gave us confidence to not second guess walking away (we thought we had found a home that we would live in for decades), and 3) was a learning opportunity as we continue house hunting. I would highly recommend Chicagoland Home Inspectors, especially if you are purchasing a home that is 100+ years old. Even more so if the home is for sale by owner. They provide the information that you need to hear before making such a substantial commitment. You may be disappointed but purchasing a 100 year old home without this type of thorough inspection is akin to closing your eyes and taking a leap of faith that the seller wants what's best for you and your family. For context, the home was built in the early 1900s, three-stories, brick, original hardwood floors. The seller presented the home as being fully renovated with a new roof, electric wiring, plumbing, HVAC retrofit, etc. Frank called days a head of the inspection to ask some questions and discuss what services were needed. He removed one of the services, and the extra cost, because it wasn't needed. Frank arrived early and was already scanning the roof (via drone) when I arrived. He was more than happy to answer any questions that I had and he made a point to show me areas of major concern in-person. When I pointed things out Frank was more than happy to take a look and answer my questions. On the follow-up call, Charles took the time to further explain the findings, provide input on priorities and talked us through estimating tools. He also provided a different perspective and opinions. Talking with both Frank and Charles was incredibly valuable. Charles was surprised that our realtor recommended Chicagoland Home Inspectors and was quick to tell us that's a great sign that our realtor has our best interests in mind. If your realtor tries to steer you clear of this firm, definitely inquire why. You have to live with the consequences, not your realtor. Some Inspection Findings: - Licensed contractors didn't perform work properly - Major systems (which are new) were functioning but had potential issues that could shorten lifespan/void warranties - Source of moisture intrusion hadn't been identified/repaired - Attempts to clean up mold - Potential safety hazards Other Details: Inspectors are only required to check one electric outlet per room, this firm checks all of the outlets. They found the one that was incorrectly wired and posed a safety risk. When they tested the water pressure they made sure to turn on multiple faucets not just one at a time, identified a pressure issue. One thing to note, make sure the seller or broker has everything prepared. Any water valves that are shutoff equate to a sink that cannot be inspected. All appliances and systems need to be fully operational to be inspected.

2 days before my daughter's birthday party, I notice a very active, completely hidden, bumble bee hive with a main bee entrance right where people would be sitting on the deck. I ask the landlord to send an exterminator. Instead, the landlord shows up with a can of spray and sprays into the bee entrance. After emptying the entire can, he leaves. Next morning, 3 hours before the party, I start arranging things outside. The bees, which have always been docile and consistently avoided confrontations with humans in the past, were TICKED OFF! It was like they became completely different creatures. Highly aggressive. Literally attempting to fly into my mouth, up my pants, chasing me around the yard. I told my wife "We're going to have to reschedule." Of course that made my wife just as angry as the bees. So I decided to use Yelp to find a highly recommended PROFESSIONAL exterminator in my area. Quick Kill seemed like the obvious choice. Called them up at 8:30 am. John answered the phone immediately and was at my door in less than an hour! He thoroughly examined and explored the problem from every angle. Then he killed them bees! Hundreds of them. Then he treated the entire exterior of the house so they wouldn't re-nest. He informed me, that since we had to kill the bees during the day in order to resolve the problem before the party, not all of them would be present and some would return. But thanks to the product he left in the hive, those bees would died too. And that's exactly what happened. Within a couple hours the bees were gone. Our party guests had no clue that a problem ever existed. John saved my daughter's birthday party! He was very polite, friendly, sincere, skilled, thorough and respectful. He even made sure to keep my herbs out of harms way. Not only did he take care of the bees. He also took care of the spiders that had been coming in my window wells. It was a Quick Kill just like the company name. And even though this is something my landlord should handle, I gladly paid for it. This is definitely the company you should call. Long time Yelp user, first time poster. Never written any reviews on Yelp before because usually the postings are spot on and I dont bother. This time, not so much. Pros: Quick turn around - Next day. Phone staff - Pretty friendly. Cons: After multiple visits, couldnt seem to get rid of my problem. They did knock it down, but were unable to knock it out completely for some reason? When the guy came out the first time, he seemed like he was in a big hurry. A week later I was back in the same boat. They came out again and said they were going to try some other stuff. A week later, same thing. My wife is a bit neurotic about invaders and I understand that we will never be totally free of pests, but with the glowing reviews they have here, I expected more from them and so did she. They were not able to solve our problem, we had to call in someone else. As I said, long time Yelp user and I usually read everything and take it in before calling a company, I didnt on this one, I just went with them and the reviews they had up there. Yesterday's service call to address our ant problem was an effective, informative, and frankly pleasurable experience. Our technician Andrew took his time to treat the entire house, either by spraying an innocuous pesticide, injecting gel bait into crevices in the most active area in the kitchen, and by judiciously placing bait traps in other areas. He also treated the entire perimeter of the house, and in the process I found an area where ice had been hanging out! Got that problem addressed too! Tim and David came to save the day today! They removed a hornet nest from the second story apex of my house. They removed the nest and sprayed to make sure none will come back to bother us, and even if they did they offer a 30 day guarantee. They also treated my interior and exterior for the normal seasonal insects. With all that said, what sets them apart from anyone else is the "family owned" feel. They are a family owned business and it shows, starting with the first call you make when you schedule an appointment all the way through to when they leave at the end of the service. We were just visited by Scott from Quick Kill to address remaining problem of rats in back yard. He replaced baits in 4 traps, but more importantly, located several main burrows to collapse and place more baits. He also took the time to explain the complexity of trapping a very intelligent and prolific rodent. We will wait and see if this more extensive approach diminishes the rat population, but we have been quite satisfied with the service AND the knowledge of the technicians. We happily use Quick Kill for standard quarterly pest services, but today they went above and beyond with a racoon issue we were having. I called at 1:20 p.m., and they had a tech at our house before 2:00 p.m. While I know that was a fortunate scenario, the manager took the time to explain to me what they could do and then found a way to make it happen on the same day. On a Friday, we found a hole in our fascia and saw a squirrel sitting nearby. By Monday morning, QK technician JP confirmed that it looked like a squirrel hole and placed two live traps on the roof nearby. Didn't know where the ants were coming from and I started putting terro baits up. While they were dying in the trap, it seemed never ending. A full month had passed and decided to get a quote. Called ecotech and another company to get quotes. While the other company was $100 cheaper, there were way more reviews for ecotech and the price of ecotech included a second visit if needed (we didn't need it!). The technician, Pete P. came on time and sent a text when he was on the way. Was straight to the point and was checking where they were congregating. He answered the many questions I had and was courteous. He let us know to give it 2 weeks and if we still saw them, to give them a call. I believe he was off by a week but no worries - they were gone in 3 weeks. I would recommend ecotech and use them again in the future if I need to.

Tech suggested waiting longer before calling back. Called back 5 weeks later as ant problem hasn't improved. Customer service advised $395 covers up to two visits. I kindly explained that ant issue was never resolved. They tried to sell me annual membership and refused to follow up.
