I have had a mouse problem in my house for years.... I usually just treat with bait and mouse traps, but finally (after killing about 12 in a 2 week period) I had enough. I saw that best pest had great yelp reviews. I was skeptical, but I called. I'm so glad I did. Tom came out right away and the cost was reasonable. Other neighbors have used different services who charge a LOT more and they weren't happy with the results. Best Pest will come back for a reduced rate within the next 3 months. I really think he found the entry point and I won't need him back, I'll update this if it continues to be an ongoing problem, but I think it is fixed, and I wish I would have called them sooner! One of the reasons I was skeptical at first was how many favorable reviews this business had.... I was not asked to review this business, I'm only doing it because it seems to have worked!!! I contacted Tom about a mouse problem in my basement. He responded quickly and came out and did an initial consultation. He first walked the outside of the house looking for signs of entry and then came inside for an inspection. He ended up sealing off a few exterior areas and replacing a couple drain covers. Inside he set bait stations and traps in the basement. Within the next week several mice were trapped and our mouse problem was resolved. If I ever have any other pest problems I will not hesitate to contact Best Pest Control again. read more

There is a reason why this company has 22 (And now 23 ) 5 star reviews. I called on a Monday as I had noticed over the weekend that my backyard had a few more wasps flying around than I care to see. I noticed they were what my dad used to call "cicada killers" and I remember him being stung by them as a kid (and the ambulance ride that followed). Even though I saw maybe 5 of them flying around one spot of dead grass in my yard, I was uncomfortable enough to call someone to take a look. I spoke to the receptionist (and I cannot remember her name, but she was extremely pleasant and very well informed) and she let me know that Tom would be on my same street at another home that day and could stop by to check it out. I was working downtown, and so I was hoping he would be able to see what I was talking about without me being at home. Tom took a look at my yard, and when the business tried to call me back, I was not able to answer the phone. I then noticed a text from an unknown number, and the receptionist reached out to update me on the situation. They did not see enough activity to provide treatment at this time, but I could call back at anytime if I saw anymore of these bad ass wasps flying around again. What I appreciated here was that they were not going to treat for the sake of treating. Tom did not want to charge me for something that was not 100% required. Even though I was a little unsure of the wasps, I noticed this evening that I only had 1 wasp flying around. While one night is not enough evidence that my problem has gone away, I'm grateful that I didn't pay for something that was not absolutely necessary, AND I know I can call back anytime and they will be there to help me out. Tom takes great pride in his work. He is reliable and honest in everything he does. It is clear he has years of experience with insect and rodent control. This Summer he helped with a carpenter ant problem on my property. During that treatment, he explained the pros and cons of various treatment options and was willing to help treat my roofline (cedar roof). He also explained ant psychology which guided his application of the various poisons and baits. Haven't had an ant in my house since. This Fall he came back to help with a mice infestation. Immediately noted a problem area that I had been hearing "scratching" and "gnawing" sounds. What an amazing experience! I sent a message through yelp Friday night around 9:30pm and Lisa messages me back within minutes! Unbeknownst to my neglectful ways of keeping a backyard, I've been housing wasps and yellow jacket bees somewhere in my own little forest of weeds. I noticed that there were bee hives on 2 different areas in my backyard. Because I'm allergic to bee stings and the BF is squirmish to bees, we decided to call the pros. We got quotes from as little as $125 to as high as $350. He finally called Best Pest Control and received a quote. While talking to Tom (from Best Pest), he inquired about the situation, gave tips, and even gave home remedy tip to DIY. That to me is impressive because the other guys we spoke with were using a scare tactic to try to make us pay more. So D Day is here... This guy Tom is legit!!!! He came in with gloves and a face mask and sprayed both hives. The bees started flying away with no intent to harm the sprayer. Tom came to my parents house in Streamwood to help us remove a hornets nest from just under the roof of their two story house. It was quite high and the ground was actually sloped down so it was not something that we were going to be able to do ourselves.
