I was impressed, first, with Anthony who called to sign me up and work out a service plan. Then with the extent to which my service guy, Trey (Trenell), addressed my various concerns. He got up on a ladder to reach a wasp's nest nobody has been able to get to for years. He came up with a great idea to get onto the tops of our windows where bugs like to hide, without having to take the screens off our dozens of windows (yay). He found a wasp nest in our retaining wall and had the equipment to fog it out, then make sure the little devils wouldn't come back. He picked up a dead mouse for me and sought out all the places critters would be looking to get in, inside and out. Trey even applied three different substances for some of our problem spots! I'd say if we have any pests for the next several months I'll be VERY surprised! read more

Do Not Use! services provided were marginal at pest control. Was told I could cancel any time with no penalty. At time of initial service was asked to sign for the service for access to property and permission to apply chemicals. Turns out what I signed was a contract with a cancellation policy. They charged me 400$ to cancel the contract after the first treatment that didn't work. DO NOT USE this company. read more

Offered a deal. signed a 24 month contract that made it sound like I was committing to a one time fee. I was not explained that I would have to pay $200 quarterly. I found out unexpectedly when I was charged. Make sure that whoever you speak to actually explains their service, because it is not clear on the contract either. If you are reading this, you have the privilege of dealing with a door 2 door salesman telling you that they are in the neighborhood and giving a massive discount if you sign up today. I'm usually able to decipher through these scam artists but my wife was not so lucky and signed up with them for 4 services for 135 and the fifth (first) at 165. The sales person told my wife that he was the owner and that she could cancel at anytime which was obviously a lie as he made her sign a one year contract. I came back home from my work trip and upon research inquired to cancel the service and before doing anything they squeezed another service in and when they finally cancelled, they sent us another bill of $135. We called the company and they refuse to honor the sales associate's promise to cancel at no cost and expect a $135 cancellation fee. We intend to put a no solicitation sign outside our door to prevent these high pressure scam artists from attempting to sell services without proper disclosures (extremely hard for anyone to read through the 5 page contract when the sales person sis busy scaring you about how the bugs are about take over your house). We did not see any reduction in pests (spiders, bugs etc) for the two services they claimed that they performed. Do yourself a favor and stay away from these guys. If you need pest control, call a local company on a per occurrence basis rather than getting tricked into signing a contract. read more

The worst decision I made moving in to our new home was using this company for pest control services. Their service is inconsistent and poor. Their product is ineffective. They lied to me on the length of the service and cost. What I was told by the salesperson and what the contract reads are not the same. My fault for not reading the contract closer. I've been using EcoShield for a couple of years now. They are always thorough and helpful. They address whatever problems you are having and come back if it didn't resolve the pest problem. I recently had a service where we identified a potential mice problem. They sent somebody out as soon as I was available and Chris was just as thorough and knowledge. Luckily it is minor and we talked about what to do. Peace of mind is what EcoShield provides. I've been approached a couple of times to switch but why? I really like EcoShield and the service they have been providing. So glad I signed up with them years ago. read more

This company is so bad it's almost comical. For us, it's not that the service itself is bad, it's just how the company is run. Like many of the other reviews out there, the company attempts to lure you in by having travelling salesman canvass your neighborhood stating that they have technicians in your area right now and they can do a quick spray at a really low cost. To make a long story short, we signed up for their contract, which lasts 2 years. Near the end of the contract, we decided to cancel the service. Despite the fact that my name is on the contract, I was told that I couldn't make any adjustments to the contract because it's not my name on it (Despite the fact that you actually can see my initials on the contract). The companies dispute is that because I used my wife's phone number as a contact (because she works from home and would be present while the service is being performed) I can't change anything. After explaining this OVER and OVER and OVER again, I was finally able to speak with a representative who agreed with me after looking at the contract. We were finally able to cancel our account; however, the company is now saying that they haven't received payment. I attempted to resolve it......but once again, because it's not my name on it, they won't accept payment. The stupidity of this company knows no bounds. read more

Then I get charged for services never performed. When I signed up I explicitly asked the sales rep if I could cancel any time without penalty and he said yes, but the contract states one year. This company is the worst. Door to door salesman that pester you every spring. Signed a contract and after about 4 treatments realized they charge me about 189 dollars to show up for about 30 seconds for a "treatment" that I cant really see doing anything. In person sales promises satisfaction guaranteed, but in the fine print that is just them saying they will come more often! Tried to cancel and they wont let you out and threaten to ding your credit. July 20 22 Eco Shield came out and did their service. They sprayed some kind of chemical around my garage door and garage lights that stained our white siding. I tried to remove the stain unsuccessfully. I also had the house power washed and it did not remove the stain. I contacted Eco Shield and told them I did not want any further service until they remove the stain around the garage door and lights. They then came out and tried to remove the stain unsuccessfully. Eco Shield wanted me to contact cleaning companies, get three quotes and send that information to Eco Shield so they could pick one of the quotes and have them do the work. I told Eco Shield that they put the stain on our siding and it was their responsibility to remove it. Eco Shield got a quote and then wanted us to sign a release that would absolve them from all further action whether the strain was removed or not and whether the cleaning caused further damage. It would also prevent us from doing anything on social media like Yelp regarding the type of services that they've provided. We did not and will not sign the release. But in November, 2022, even though I said do not perform any further service they did any way. I requested a refund and on March 13, 2023 Eco Shield finally said they processed a refund of $199 and we would get our refund in 7 to 10 business days. It is now over one month since they claimed they processed the refund and we have yet to receive it. We have sent numerous emails to Eco Shield indicating that we have not received the refund and have not received a response to our emails. This is a company I would recommend never ever doing business with. read more

I rarely write reviews but wanted to warn others how awful this company is. You never can get a hold of anyone local and have to wait on hold to reach anyone through an 888 number. They never mail anything and after unanswered emails they will send your bills to collections. I would suggest finding someone local who you can actually call in your area. As with a previous reviewer, their first visit went well, but...I was home for that and was able to see what the tech did while there. However, the second visit, not so good. I was given a 2 day notice via text when they would be arriving, which clearly stated to confirm the appt with a YES reply. I did not confirm and was out of town at the time, so I figured I would call when I returned to reschedule. The tech showed up anyways and therefore did not make it inside to treat my home. I brushed it off and figured with the next text I would call right away if needed. Again, I received only a 2 day notice, which actually gave me less than 24 hours to reschedule. When I called to change the date, I was given another date and time and told that my appt for the following morning was cancelled. NOT! When I returned home from work that day the door hanger was there indicating the tech had been there to service my home, again, not going inside for a treatment. And, the "removed webs" was checked off, which I still have in my egress windows. When I called the second time for the same appt to make a complaint, I was told that I did not have an appt change for that visit, so the upcoming date and time I thought would work was not even on their schedule. Apparently the Arizona office does not communicate with the Illinois office. When I did finally get someone in Illinois, I was told that I could not cancel my service without paying a penalty of $150 and it would automatically be renewed. I won't be renewing, I can guarantee that! I was also told that I would receive a call back within a day to get a new appointment - this review is 9 days post my third call to reschedule and I am still waiting for that call. read more

My husband set this account up and told me there was a one time fee if we signed up for a year service, but yet when I reviewed the contract there was a fee charged for every time they came out to service our house, along with the repayment of discount they give you to sign up! That's a HORRIBLE way to do business! Why give a discount?? We did cancel our contract only after 2 months, and we keep getting weekly reminders that we still owe $150.00! We have a "No Soliciting" sign posted at our door.  And they had TWO different sales. First one came about a month ago lying like a 5 year old about doing work near by. I tried to be polite and made it clear that I do my own work. He clearly wont take NO for answer, continue pushing me till I say "NO THANKS" 3 times. Second guy came today and rang our door bell once again. I just opened my door and pointed at our "No Soliciting" sign. We're fairly new customers after being approached by Logan, who rang our bell. Logan was patient and kindly answered all of our questions. Although he got some dates wrong, he promptly answered my text about it and figured out the situation - on a Sunday. THEN... after the service was completed the 2nd time we had a wasp problem still (and worse) and I was ready to have it out with Logan, but guess what, I didn't have to! He put in the free re-do order and main office called us and scheduled within a couple days. They sent out a manager, Kyle Doney, who was also kind and patiently answered our questions. He discovered (because he's an expert!) that we had a Mud Dauber infestation Kyle educated us what they are and he carefully removed all the hives (or blobs of mud, I guess) and then dusted for protection from them and other wasps, all around the house and inside the garage. He did a thorough job, no rushing and we appreciate him for it. Honestly, I'm not convinced we won't see more problems throughout the year, particularly as seasons change, especially reading the reviews on this site. I think the chemicals wear off and bugs and other pests come back and set up house again. But if we continue to get our needs met promptly and without additional fees than what we've already paid to get rid of the pests, we're very satisfied with EcoShield! read more

This company demanded photos of my minor child or medical documentation with his personal information in order to cancel a plan that was causing a skin reaction across his body. The company promised 3 times to have a manager call me back which never called back. I was passed from person to person each time I was called and repeatedly asked for photos or medication information. which I explained violated my son's HIPPA rights. read more

I was told the first mosquitoes treatment would be included in my agreement, and was charged for the service. Trying to get someone to answer the phone to resolve is mission impossible. Initial spray was for wasps near our front door, and now 3 weeks later we still have them.
