I have been trying (unsuccessfully) to catch a mouse for about a month. Enuff!!!!!!! I put in a request for pest termination here on Yelp. I received several responses mostly marketing their multi-month plans for rodent services and I responded to all. Of all the companies, only one stood out and that was DOA Pest control. Brian was the name of the representative I spoke with. When I explained my frustratingly ineffective efforts, he responded to me "Well let me give you some helpful pointers then". That phrase alone eased so much anxiety for me. Brian proceeded to have a text exchange with me where he patiently listened to my concerns and offered me both pointers on what I was doing wrong and tips to go about it a bit differently. So I heeded his advice, reset the traps and within 36 hours of this exchange *BAM* I caught the mouse. Cue Cece Peniston - Finally it has happened to me!(more like it has happened to that mouse) I want to be clear, I didn't actually hire this company, but DOA and Brian were absolutely essential to this outcome. I'd like to also point out that Brian was this helpful at after 9:00pm at night to a person who hadn't paid his company a dime. I am truly grateful for his patience and helpfulness. Hopefully, I won't need to contract his company in the future. But if I do, I will bypass all the other companies that spent their time trying to sell me a package I didn't need. We actually had great service the first time we used DOA for pest control at our home (I believe it was Brian who came, the owner), but things went downhill quickly when we opted to do as-needed treatments instead of selecting the annual plan he really wanted us to sign up for. It suddenly started becoming extremely difficult to schedule an appointment and Brian would take days and weeks to return my voicemails. When we finally would speak on the phone, he always said he "was so busy" and wasn't sure when they could send someone out. I wasn't even in a rush for an appointment, a few weeks or even a month out would be perfectly OK, but he could never commit to anything. He eventually would call the day of saying they had cancellations and asking if they could come in the next hour... jeeze. But that wasn't the end of the trouble. The next time they did come out, it was a different employee and he destroyed a ton of our landscaping with his hose from the truck and also sprayed down our organic garden for no reason (our garden is a good 30 yards away from our home). We decided to use them one more time a year later and again it was a massive hassle to schedule and the employee who came this visit did a really poor job on the outside treatment (didn't spray down the home thoroughly) and he just gave us some tubes of bug bait and said "apply as needed' for some indoor bug problems. We asked him if he could apply the treatment inside but he said he was in a rush and had to get to the next appointment! Have since found another company to work with. It seems nearly impossible to schedule something with DOA and then they only want to provide service if other customers canceled on them. And unfortunately, the treatment and service were poor the last few times we used them. read more

I paid $200 and was guaranteed to have voles removed and they weren't. After months of repeatedly calling DOA and being promised he "would get them", my yard looks like swiss cheese and the voles are still there. Brian always has an excuse such as the grass was too long (I mow every Sunday except when I have to skip a week due to it raining that day) or he killed them and they came back (also not true since there has been a new hole every week). He promises to stop by to "check on them" on a certain day and then does not show. I have had to follow up with him multiple times. To add insult to injury, after taking my $200 and failing to do the job, he left me a flyer in my door that the price will go up to $300 unless I prepay for next year by November. If you're looking to just throw your money out the window, this is the guy for you. Paid him in advance last fall to spray my house 4 times this year. I've contacted him 3 times within the past 4 months to find out when he would be coming out to spray. I'm always told that he'll be out and that I'm on his list. I had my husband call after I got nowhere with the guy, and he was once again told we were on his list. This was nearly a month ago. It's now July and not once has he come out to spray our house. I will never recommend D.O.A. to anyone looking for pest control services. Just want to mention that we paid him $225 for his services. I would highly recommend Brian for all pest control issues. His integrity is beyond compare. I called him to come out because I had a bee or wasp problem. He immediately assessed the situation and determined that what I had was a Honeybee Hive in my tree.
